Chapter 40: Raising an Army to Punish the Crime
Jiang Yang: "We're all neighbors, no need to be so polite."
Hearing this, Chong Li nodded and said with a smile, "We are all neighbors. We see each other every day, so we still have to show proper courtesy."
"Besides, isn't it said that a distant relative is not as good as a close neighbor? I heard that you just moved here too. We'll be spending a lot of time together in the future, so I have to leave a good impression on you, right?"
As he spoke, Chongli handed the bag in his hand to Jiang Yang, but was stopped by Chongming.
Jiang Yang looked down at Chongming. After noticing the confusion in Jiang Yang's eyes, Chongming realized that he was too concerned.
In his own eyes, this is a bomb, a revenge after being found by the rumormongers, a "gift" whose mere existence makes his scalp tingle.
However, in the hands of Jiang Yang, who didn't understand what was going on, this was just a friendly token from the new neighbor who had just moved in.
But unfortunately, Chongming cannot reveal the identity of the person opposite him now.
He forced a smile, shook the bag, turned around casually and walked into the living room.
Jiang Yang heard Chongming's dry and hoarse voice say, "You guys talk first, I'll put this thing in the living room."
Jiang Yang came back to his senses, looked at the handsome guy in front of him with a gentle smile on his face, and smiled embarrassedly.
"Thank you very much. By the way, I haven't asked you before, what's your name?"
After asking, Jiang Yang quickly extended his hand and introduced himself: "Hello, my name is Jiang Yang."
She paused for two seconds, then pointed in the direction Chongming had left and said with a smile, "That kid just now was Chongming."
"He is," Jiang Yang was a little stuck, and it took him a long time to say: "He is my son."
The handsome guy in front of him didn't show any strange expression because of Jiang Yang's "early marriage".
Instead, after Jiang Yang blushed, he smiled in understanding and comforted her, "Your son is very cute."
Chong Li placed a hand on Jiang Yang's outstretched hand and said gently, "Hello, I'm Chong Li, nice to meet you."
Jiang Yang felt the warm and delicate touch on his hand. He only had time to sigh that it was very considerate before he heard Chongming shouting from behind: "Jiang Yang, your live broadcast is on!"
Jiang Yang hurriedly explained, "Well, our family believes in equal education, so he usually doesn't call me mom, but calls me by my name."
Chong Li nodded. "Ms. Jiang is indeed an internet professional. Her educational ideas are truly advanced."
Jiang Yang smiled guiltily, "I have something else to do, you see..."
Chong Li heard the hidden meaning in her words and said in advance: "Then I will leave first."
Jiang Yang: "Excuse me."
After she finished speaking, she was about to close the door, but she saw Chongming coming out of the kitchen with a bag of garbage, with one small hand holding the door that was about to close.
Noticing her gaze, his little face quickly raised up, and his big, wet eyes looked at Jiang Yang like a little puppy.
Chongming smiled sweetly, at least Jiang Yang had never seen Chongming smile so sweetly. Jiang Yang even suspected that Chongming had done something bad and didn't tell him.
"I'm going to throw away the trash," Chongming lifted the trash bag in his hand with difficulty.
Chong Li hadn't turned around yet, but he chuckled at the scene. "In that case, ask me to take Chong Ming for a ride. I also need to go downstairs."
Jiang Yang looked left and right, but couldn't figure out anything fishy. Seeing that Chongming looked like a good student, he finally gave in.
"Don't run around after you get down there. Although you're in the residential complex and relatively safe, if human traffickers come in, children like you are the easiest to be caught and sold."
Chongming listened to Jiang Yang's instructions. He didn't think it was a big deal before, but now that his former boss was right in front of him, he suddenly felt a little shy.
"Oh, I know, I know. I have to repeat it every time I go out. I'm not a child anymore..."
Before Chongming could finish his words, Jiang Yang interrupted him, "Are you not a child at the age of three?"
She winked at Chongming, indicating that there were people around and some things couldn't be said directly.
Chongming opened and closed his mouth again and again, and finally he could only lower his head in resignation.
Jiang Yang was not a fussy person. Seeing that she had helped Chongming cover up, she nodded and told Chongming to go and come back early, then closed the door.
As soon as the door was closed, Chongming put away his aggrieved expression and looked at Chongli seriously.
Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly remembered something and subconsciously looked back at the room behind him. Then he whispered, "Let's talk outside."
Chong Li was silently led away by Chong Ming by his sleeve, all the way to a small corner downstairs. Only then did Chong Ming realize that he had done something disrespectful, and he jumped three meters away in fear.
Chong Li raised his eyebrows slightly, his pair of phoenix eyes were full of smiles, but his expression was intimidating without anger, making Chong Ming unable to understand what he meant.
"Are you scared now?" Chong Li said calmly, "When you and the New God were plotting against me, didn't you imagine this day would come?"
Chongming fell to his knees with a "thump". Just from the speed at which he knelt, one could imagine the icy cold that would be felt on his knees...
Chongming is ready, but it's just freezing cold... Oh... It doesn't seem that cold...
Chongming opened his eyes and looked at the ground in disbelief, only to find that a layer of white mist had appeared on the ground at some point.
He could tell at a glance that this was a magical illusion created by the God of Light.
He raised his head and looked at the God of Light Chongli, who was standing in front of him with his back to the light, and felt that he did not seem as angry as he had imagined.
After all, it was a creature he created, and they had been together for so many years, so Chong Li naturally knew what Chong Ming was thinking.
Chongming was waiting for Chongli to say something, but all he heard was one sentence: "The ground is dirty."
Chongming's head, which was originally held high because of his desire for knowledge, now wilted in an instant like a defeated rooster.
He lowered his head and said sincerely, "I was wrong."
With the light behind him, most of Chongli's face was hidden in the shadows, making it difficult to see his emotions.
Of course, even if he could see Chongli's face, Chongming didn't dare to look up. He could only guess something from Chongli's calm tone.
Chong Li was as cold as ever: "What's wrong?"
Chongming had served Chongli for hundreds of years. Sometimes, he could tell whether he was angry or not just by listening to his tone, but because the matter was so serious this time, he was a little unsure for a moment.
Chongming had no choice but to reflect on himself: "I shouldn't have let Jiang Yang do whatever she wanted. I should have controlled her so that she wouldn't do anything..."
Chong Li's eyes were stern and he interrupted him coldly.
"She's a new god, and you're just going to watch her go astray?"
"A god wanders around this world as a mortal.
