Chapter 9: Total Failure

Chapter 9: Total Failure

Jiang Yang fantasized for a moment, then rushed back to continue writing her novel.

After all, those illusory things are still far away from her. The most important thing for her now is to manage the live broadcast room well and strive to make enough money as soon as possible to pay off the loan.

Jiang Yang looked up and looked around. Of course, the most important thing was to save enough money for travel as soon as possible and escape from this unscrupulous and black-hearted company.

With this motivation, Jiang Yang typed even harder.

[My premonition was right, my God has forgotten me again.

It has been three years since the last time God appeared in my dream, and He has not summoned me once in these three years.

It only took me three years to go from looking forward to going to bed every night in the first year to now being able to fall asleep only by relying on calming soup.

No, to be more precise, it should be 927 days.

Time should be the most insignificant thing to God.

But how could they know that there was a mortal who missed them every day for the rest of his life?

For Him, three years passed in a flash, but I accomplished a lot in these three years.

I became the high priest of the Temple of Priests. Although I am not yet the chief priest in charge of the Temple of Priests, the chief priest of the Temple of Priests is now old and weak, and I am responsible for many matters of the Temple of Priests.

On the surface, I am just a high priest, but in reality, I am no different from the chief priest.

But, I still long for the position of the officiant, or rather, I long to be closer to Him.

The chief priest of the temple of priests is not a fool, or rather, no one who can climb to this position among thousands of people is a fool.

He saw the ambition in my eyes, the ambition that I had never concealed.

Five years later, the officiant died.

Before he died, he looked at me with regret and said, "You were not like this before."

I walked up to him and carefully straightened his clothes.

The clothes symbolizing the chief priest were worn on his old and frail body, lacking any of the majesty he had when he first ascended the position of chief priest.

The officiant's words failed to shake my spirit.

He never knew what I was like before, and naturally he didn't know that I had never changed.

I watched coldly as his vitality gradually faded away, and a hope ignited in my heart.

I hope that my God will appear, appear at the time of the death of this high priest who has believed in Him all his life.

Even if it is not the real person coming, even if it is just an oracle.

It’s a pity that gods never show mercy to humans.

He did not come, and He did not even give me the last bit of mercy before death.

After the death of the officiant, I naturally became the new officiant of the priest's hall.

At the succession ceremony, I once again stepped onto the altar and performed a prayer dance.

I have been preparing this dance for eight years.

I haven't rested day or night for the past eight years.

When the dance stops, the gods do not appear.

The wind blows and the clouds disperse, and the atmosphere is peaceful.

Under the altar, believers cheered and ran back and forth to celebrate the birth of the new priest.

I stood alone on the altar, the place closest to God, but I was as confused as a newborn baby.

I gambled everything, betting all my hopes that this dance would bring the gods.

I don't want to regain my past glory, I just want to see Him again, just once.

pity......

I lost.

A complete failure.

......

After Jiang Yang typed the last word, he heard Chongming sobbing beside him.

She quickly turned around, thousands of thoughts flashing through her mind.

She had thought of the possibility that Chongming had been scalded by hot water, hurt by falling, or even bitten his tongue, but she never expected that Chongming would cry because of her novel.

Jiang Yang helplessly watched Chongming holding his small mobile phone, typing in the live broadcast room while crying, speaking up for the little priest.

She grabbed a tissue and handed it to Chongming, "Why are you crying? Others don't know the truth, but don't you know it?"

Jiang Yang's voice softened, "It's all fake, why are you still crying?"

Chongming took the tissue and wiped his tears, then said indignantly, "I didn't want to cry at first, but you described this priest as being so pitiful that I couldn't help it."

As he spoke, Chongming glared at Jiang Yang, "Our Lord God of Light was once so majestic and awe-inspiring. Few in the entire God Realm could rival him."

"But in your novel, you wrote him like a resentful woman whose love was betrayed. How can it not make people feel sorry for him?"

Jiang Yang smiled flatteringly, "Oh, you don't understand, this is the only way to have a market."

"Furthermore, only by unveiling the mystery of the God of Light can we let those believers who don't understand him know that he is also a pitiful god, and only then can we attract more believers in him."

Chongming was skeptical, "Really?"

He wiped his tears with a tissue and tried to feel his faith in the God of Light, but his faith did not increase at all.

"You're a liar!" he accused, and in his excitement, his tail popped out behind him.

Jiang Yang looked at Chongming's white, furry tail in surprise, "You still have a tail?"

Upon hearing this, Chongming subconsciously turned around and hugged his tail, using his chubby hands to exert force as if trying to stuff it back.

Unfortunately, this tail seemed not to belong to Chongming, and no matter how hard Chongming tried, it was useless.

Jiang Yang looked at Chongming's little tail and said jokingly, "I didn't expect the God of Light is also a fur lover. He even designed a little tail for you."

Chongming stopped fighting with his tail, feeling a little disappointed: "You are wrong, the Lord God of Light doesn't like these."

Jiang Yang was confused: "What is this tail?"

Chongming recalled, "When the God of Light created me, I didn't have this tail yet. He has never been fond of furry animals. Even when those adorable heavenly dogs raised by Mother Earth pounced on him, he would cruelly reject them."

"But one day, I don't know what happened, he suddenly came back from outside and wanted to give me a tail. I thought he finally liked small animals, but I didn't expect that he never looked at me again after that. I was so happy for nothing."

Jiang Yang's thoughts jumped a little: "Maybe the God of Light fell in love with someone or a deity, and knew that the other person liked small animals, so he put a little tail on you."

"But after the tail was installed, the person the God of Light liked didn't have the chance to come and see it, so the God of Light forgot about it."

Chongming touched his furry tail, obviously liking it very much.

"That's not the case. The God of Light has such a good memory, how could he possibly forget things?"

"No, more importantly, how could the God of Light like someone so superficially?"

Before Jiang Yang could refute, Chongming seemed to have thought of something and murmured, "But it seems that this possibility is not impossible."
