So let's fight for three more lifetimes.
Chapter Sixty-Six
The Jade Arrow pierced through the demonic energy, and Xuan Weixi coldly stared at the two of them, with eleven golden pills hovering in front of him.
With only one more pill left, as if realizing something, Zhou Yulin met the mockery in the man's eyes.
She gripped the sword in her hand tightly. "It's come later than I expected."
The familiar face now looked at me with eyes devoid of any emotion.
Chen Muyao placed her hand on Zhou Yulin's shoulder, "He is not your senior brother."
It's both a reminder and a comfort.
The bewilderment in Zhou Yulin's eyes quickly dissipated. She stepped forward, carrying the Jade Pendant, and slashed at Xuan Weixi with her sword. "Xuan Weixi, you feed on love, yet you killed your beloved with your own hands. How laughable."
The woman's cold voice pulled him back to the past. Xuan Weixi gritted his teeth and sneered, "What do you know? She betrayed me first."
He blocked the attack, and a sword materialized in his hand—it was Xuan Qingxian's sword. But wait.
"She betrayed me first." Xuan Weixi's sword style was very strange, like an amateur, yet every move was ruthless and deadly.
"What right do you have to judge me! If she didn't love me, why has my cultivation stopped improving afterward!"
Zhou Yulin suddenly realized and said sadly, "It's absurd for you to judge whether someone loves you based on the fact that your demonic energy hasn't increased. Have you ever thought that your demonic energy feeds on your love, and that your cultivation hasn't improved because you've never loved anyone else?"
These words pierced Xuan Weixi's heart like a sword. His sword clattered to the ground, and the man took a half step back, clutching his head. "Impossible, impossible, impossible... She said she doesn't love me anymore and told me to get out."
Zhou Yulin merely observed coldly, then reminded him, word by word, "There are many hypocrites in the world. If Xuan Weixi truly didn't love you, she wouldn't have raised your senior brother alone."
"The person you possessed is your own son."
For some reason, the clouds overhead seemed to darken considerably the instant those words were spoken.
She watched as the person in front of her stood up again, as if possessed, repeating, "There's no turning back, I can't turn back."
The demonic energy emanating from the demonic soldiers scattered throughout the city converged on this person. The most affected by the immense power was Zhou Yulin, who was closest to him. In the midst of the raging wind, someone grabbed her hand.
A calm and reassuring voice reached her ear, "Demons are not invincible."
The two locked eyes, and the young man took her hand, gathering his spiritual power. "You are the rightful savior of the world."
A palm struck his chest, and blood trickled down his lips, a drop landing on the jade pendant he wore. This jade pendant, once given to him by Zhou Yulin, had transformed into a dagger.
The raging wind was kept at bay, and his voice was clear, resounding, and fearless: "What you just did was borrowing spiritual energy, right? After all that, your spiritual energy must be exhausted. Tell me the incantation, and I'll lend you some spiritual energy."
Zhou Yulin knew this was not the time for idle talk, but she still said, "This method is not the right path."
"What right or wrong path? Don't you understand, Zhou Yulin?"
Chen Mu looked at her steadily, "You are the right path."
She placed her hand on the person's shoulder, and uttered the incantation, reminding them in a clear voice, "Try circulating the spiritual energy within your body."
"After you've combed through it a little, give me your hand."
He raised an eyebrow. "Only with your hands?"
Zhou Yulin thought for a moment, then shook her head and said, "As long as it's just contact, it's fine. If you don't like it..."
Before he could finish speaking, the man's lips pressed against his. Pure spiritual energy flowed over him like clear water, but something felt off.
When Zhou Yulin realized that this had gone beyond the normal practice of borrowing a spirit, she hurriedly tried to push the person away.
Unfortunately, once the spirit possession begins, it won't stop easily.
"Then I will give you all my cultivation."
Upon hearing this, Zhou Yulin trembled, her heart pounding with the end of the kiss. She looked at the pale-faced young man, who reached out to brush away her disheveled hair. "Zhou Yulin, you won't lose. You will live."
Zhou Yulin picked the person up and carefully put her down. The woman, now free of her past naivety and impetuosity, exuded a calm and composed demeanor.
Looking at her former senior brother, the seemingly joking words came to mind: "Perhaps one day, you can kill your senior brother."
Amidst the chaotic demonic winds, she held the Unfallen Jade and, with her cultivation approaching the half-step Nascent Soul stage, appeared before Xuan Weixi in the blink of an eye.
She clenched her fist with one hand, and the biting, cold demonic wind dissipated.
Xuan Weixi immediately slashed at Zhou Yulin's back with his sword "Qieman" (meaning "Slowly"). Zhou Yulin dodged to the side, and the force of the two swords clashing together, like the swords "Buzhuiyu" (meaning "Jade Falling"), made the City Lord's Mansion tremble three times. Xuan Weixi straightened up, and a thousand "Qieman" swords instantly materialized in his palm.
Zhou Yulin recalled the Unfallen Jade, "Summon the sword spirit, capture the moon."
As if sensing something, the ordinary sword instantly dispersed into a thousand sword spirits.
The instant Xuan Weixi raised his finger, Zhou Yulin also whispered, "Thousand Souls, Ten Thousand Passages, go."
At the same time, Zhou Yulin quickly affixed the protective talisman to her body, and the smoke dissipated.
Xuan Weixi was about to sneer at this person's naivety when he followed Zhou Yulin's gaze to the eleven golden pills that had been shattered into powder.
Zhou Yulin's sword strike was never aimed at him, but at these Golden Core cultivators.
"Xuan Weixi, you've lost."
Zhou Yulin's words immediately caused a huge uproar. He rushed over like a madman, only to find that his body stopped half an inch in front of Zhou Yulin, which was Xuan Qingxian's last thought: "...Junior Sister."
Zhou Yulin's pupils dilated, and his hand holding the dagger trembled. "Senior Brother."
"Kill me." Xuan Qingxian gave her a weak smile. "Junior Sister."
But the next second, his eyes were filled with coldness and ferocity, and Xuan Weixi said ruthlessly, "I am him, and he is me. If I die, your dear senior brother will die too."
"You certainly can't bear to part with it..." Xuan Weixi stared blankly at the dagger in her chest, without the slightest hesitation.
The words in his throat vanished completely in the cold wind, turning into dust with the east wind.
The dark clouds over Jinyang City dispersed, and the first rays of dawn broke through the sky.
The warm light shone on everyone.
"Is it over?" Gu Ling looked up at the sunlight, somewhat dazed.
Are these all the trials Su Jing left for him? To help the savior survive to the end.
"There are wounded here, come quick!"
"He's still breathing! My God, such a serious injury."
Winter finally arrived long overdue for the Xuanling Sect, with the east wind pattering against the windows of the Yue Ling Pavilion.
Chen Muyao opened her eyes from her sleep, and upon waking, she heard a mechanical voice in her mind.
[Congratulations, host, you have successfully won over the female lead!]
As the data was being extracted, Chen Muyao leaned against Zhou Yulin's shoulder. The woman seemed to sense this, tightened her grip on his hand, and whispered expectantly, "Chen Muyao, let's have another match when you're all better."
There was no reply for a long time.
Zhou Yulin turned her head to look at the unconscious young man, as the winter snowflakes gently fell on their heads.
A timely snowfall promises a bountiful harvest; this is a rare and heavy snowfall for the Xuanling Sect.
A bell rang from the mountain, and she looked up.
A new year has arrived, and fireworks are flying overhead.
Just as she was about to wake the person in front of her, she realized that he had already opened his eyes and was staring at her intently.
Zhou Yulin: "What's wrong?"
“Not enough,” he said softly.
Zhou Yulin turned her head, raised her hand to shield the patient from some of the wind and snow, and asked with some confusion, "Hmm?"
But then the man said leisurely, "Let's compete for a lifetime."
Anyway, we've been fighting for two lifetimes.
"Chen Muyao." Just like the wish he made many years ago, the person in front of him sincerely blessed him, "You will get what you wish for."
The wind and snow recorded the deafening vows, which traveled to distant lands.
The fireworks displays are better every year than the year before.
Zhou Yulin secretly made a wish.
Let it be longer then; she wants to fight Chen Muyao for three more lifetimes.
