Chapter 231 Shut up, leave me alone
"I'll be more careful next time," Yan Yu replied to Shen Jin, his head lowered and lips pursed.
Hearing Yan Yu's reply, Shen Jin continued to scold him: "Next time, you always say next time, but you still won't pay attention next time."
As he spoke, Shen Jin, fueled by anger, made much larger and more forceful movements with his hands.
"Hiss..." Yan Yu couldn't help but gasp.
Upon hearing Yan Yu's inhale, Shen Jin immediately eased his breathing.
"Does it hurt?" Shen Jin asked.
"No." Yan Yu forced back the pain and smiled slightly. "If I could have you apply medicine for me every time I got injured, I would rather get injured a few more times."
Shen Jin stopped moving immediately, wishing he could slap Yan Yu on the head.
"Try saying another word?" Shen Jin said to Yan Yu.
Yan Yu immediately shut up and dared not say another word.
Afterwards, Shen Jin continued to carefully apply medicine to Yan Yu. When he reached some of the more serious wounds, Shen Jin dared not use his own hands to apply the medicine to Yan Yu anymore, so he had to use cotton swabs to gently apply the medicine little by little.
Although the ointment helped stop the bleeding, Yan Yu still felt pain and a numb sensation when it touched his wound.
"Shen Jin..." Yan Yu called out softly to Shen Jin.
Shen Jin paused slightly, then looked up at Yan Yu: "What's wrong? Did I use too much force?"
"No...it's this medicine that's too numbing." Yan Yu lowered his head, his fingers clenched into fists, and spoke to Shen Jin.
"Then what should we do?"
Yan Yu hesitated for a moment, then looked up at Chen Jin.
"Then... can you blow on it for me?" Yan Yu thought for a long time before finally mustering the courage to say this to Shen Jin.
If he hadn't sensed that Shen Jin was treating him a little better now, he definitely wouldn't have said those words. What if his relationship with Shen Jin had deteriorated further?
Upon hearing Yan Yu's words, Shen Jin fell silent.
"If it doesn't work, then forget it." Yan Yu looked at Shen Jin, then silently lowered his head, looking somewhat aggrieved.
Like a child who can't get candy.
Seeing Yan Yu like this, Shen Jin felt helpless. It was as if he had bullied Yan Yu.
"Don't make it sound like I'm abusing you. If you get hurt again, I won't even bother with you anymore," Shen Jin said helplessly after a moment of silence.
As he spoke, Shen Jin continued to apply the medicine to Yan Yu, carefully smearing it on while gently blowing on it.
Yan Yu felt the cool breath on his back, and his whole body went numb. His cheeks immediately turned red, and he buried his face in his arms, feeling a little embarrassed.
Shen Jin, unaware of anything amiss, continued to diligently apply medicine to Yan Yu.
"Shen Jin, if I get injured again next time, you'll still take care of me, right?" Yan Yu asked Shen Jin after a long while, lifting half of his face out from under his arm.
Upon hearing Yan Yu's sudden remark, Shen Jin's expression turned sour.
"You wish! If there's a next time, I won't care about anything else, I'll just let you suffer to death." Shen Jin said directly, his voice icy cold.
Yan Yu smiled but didn't say anything.
He knew that Shen Jin was just saying one thing and meaning another, and that Shen Jin would still care about him if he got hurt next time.
However, he was already very satisfied that Shen Jin was treating him so well.
Therefore, Yan Yu let Shen Jin say whatever he wanted, and was still very happy inside.
“I think you’re showing concern for me right now, aren’t you?” Yan Yu thought for a moment and then suddenly spoke up.
Shen Jin felt that Yan Yu's mouth just wouldn't stop, and he wished he could find a roll of tape to seal Yan Yu's mouth shut.
"Shut up and leave me alone," Shen Jin said to Yan Yu irritably.
Yan Yu, however, didn't seem to care: "Then tell me first, do you care about me?"
Shen Jin clenched one hand into a fist, but refrained from punching Yan Yu because Yan Yu was injured.
"Do you think it's possible?" Shen Jin didn't answer Yan Yu's question, but instead asked a question in return.
Upon hearing Shen Jin's words, Yan Yu remained silent for a while.
"Can't we?" Yan Yu thought for a moment, then asked persistently, wanting an answer.
You could say they were determined to get to the bottom of things.
"Never in this lifetime." Shen Jin was too lazy to waste any more words with Yan Yu and coldly replied to him.
Yan Yu was rebuffed and dared not say anything more, so he could only sullenly remain silent.
Shen Jin diligently applied the medicine to Yan Yu, occasionally blowing on it to help him.
"Shen Jin." Not long after, Yan Yu started talking to Shen Jin again.
Shen Jin felt that Yan Yu was driving him crazy.
"I feel so happy right now," Yan Yu said softly to Shen Jin.
Hearing Yan Yu's words, Shen Jin was speechless for a moment.
"You're happy to be injured, huh? Do you know that if this wound were any deeper, you'd be crippled?" Shen Jin scolded Yan Yu without any politeness.
Yan Yu listened to Shen Jin scolding him, but he kept laughing.
Seeing Yan Yu still laughing at a time like this, Shen Jin became even angrier.
"You're still going to laugh, aren't you?" Shen Jin rebuked Yan Yu.
"Yes, because I'm happy." Yan Yu didn't realize that Shen Jin was angry and was still chuckling softly.
It is said that fortune and misfortune are intertwined. Because he was injured, he was able to have Shen Jin apply medicine for him, so he felt that being injured was a good thing, and he also felt Shen Jin's concern for him.
However, Shen Jin felt that Yan Yu's joking and laughing attitude at a time like this was simply outrageous.
"Have you even realized your mistake?! And you're still laughing!" Shen Jin's tone suddenly turned cold.
Now Yan Yu knew that Shen Jin was angry, so he immediately stopped smiling and dared not laugh anymore.
"I was wrong." Yan Yu quickly admitted his mistake to Shen Jin.
"You have no sincerity at all, and you think you're proud of it?" Shen Jin was unmoved and continued to berate Yan Yu.
Yan Yu silently bit his lower lip, remaining silent.
He shouldn't have been so happy; this has really backfired.
"I'm sorry, I..." Yan Yu apologized to Shen Jin in a flustered manner, afraid that he would really be angry.
"What's the use of you apologizing to me? This is your own body." Shen Jin was still blaming Yan Yu.
Yan Yu listened quietly to Shen Jin's cursing.
After scolding him for a while, Shen Jin felt that he had taught Yan Yu a lesson enough, and then continued to apply medicine to Yan Yu.
"I know I was wrong, and I promise I won't do it again next time. Can you please stop being angry?" Yan Yu looked at Shen Jin for a while before speaking cautiously.
Shen Jin ignored him, so Yan Yu didn't dare to speak to Shen Jin anymore.
After a while, Shen Jin finished applying the medicine to Yan Yu, bandaged him up, and then took the clothes from Yan Yu's hands and gently put them down.
"You don't even know how to reflect on yourself. If you do this again, don't talk to me anymore. I can't be bothered with you." Shen Jin then spoke coldly to Yan Yu.
Yan Yu was immediately startled by Shen Jin's words.
"I wouldn't dare," Yan Yu quickly said to Shen Jin.
Shen Jin glanced at him but didn't say anything more.
At this point, the tomb raiders prepared to clear out the prey they had caught that day.
They were seen carrying their prey, hurrying towards the river, with the wild boar being carried by two tomb raiders.
"Ah Jin, let's go process these prey. We'll have meat to eat tonight..." a tomb raider said to Shen Jin as he passed by.
“Okay.” Shen Jin nodded in agreement.
Then, the tomb raiders carried their prey to the riverbank.
Immediately afterwards, a cacophony of noise came from the riverbank as the tomb raiders began to divide up the tasks and deal with their prey.
Some people clean and then cut them open to remove the internal organs, while others skin them and deal with the prey they have caught.
Shen Jin quietly put away the things he had used to apply the medicine to Yan Yu, and put them all into his backpack, to use next time he changed Yan Yu's medicine.
"Thank you." Yan Yu looked at Shen Jin and thanked him.
Upon hearing Yan Yu's words, Shen Jin pursed his lips slightly.
"How are you feeling now?" Shen Jin was silent for a while, then asked Yan Yu.
Yan Yu then moved his body slightly.
"Does it still hurt?" Shen Jin continued to ask.
"A little bit, but it doesn't hurt as much as it did at the beginning. When I'm still, there's a slight stinging sensation, but it still hurts a bit when I move," Yan Yu replied, looking up at Shen Jin.
Upon hearing Yan Yu's reply, Shen Jin nodded.
"Then be careful not to get it wet again, and don't do any strenuous exercise, or the wound will reopen," Shen Jin instructed Yan Yu.
Yan Yu nodded quickly, thinking that Shen Jin really cared about him, otherwise he wouldn't have said these things to him and told him not to get wet or do strenuous exercise.
However, Yan Yu wisely refrained from saying it again, otherwise Shen Jin would get angry again.
Seeing that Yan Yu nodded, Shen Jin didn't say anything more and tidied up his things.
"I'll go help them process their prey," Yan Yu said, looking at the tomb raiders diligently processing their game on the riverbank not far away.
After saying that, Yan Yu stood up and went to help.
Just as Yan Yu was about to get up, Shen Jin pressed him back down.
"You've forgotten what I just told you, haven't you?" Shen Jin's expression wasn't good.
Upon hearing Shen Jin's words, Yan Yu was stunned for a moment.
"I..." Yan Yu began, uttering only one word, then trailed off, unsure of what to say next.
Shen Jin stared at Yan Yu for a while, then exerted force with his hand and pressed Yan Yu down, forcing him to sit back down.
"Sit still," Shen Jin said coldly.
Yan Yu immediately stopped talking.
"I'll go help. You get some rest," Shen Jin said to Yan Yu.
After saying that, Shen Jin turned around and left.
Yan Yu watched Shen Jin's departing figure, hesitated for a moment, then got up and followed him.
"Didn't I tell you to get some rest?" Shen Jin turned to look at Yan Yu and said helplessly.
