"Take her inside."
Old Man Jin gave Old Woman Jin a wink.
Granny Jin came up and asked, "Do you know how to serve people?"
Sun Miao'er nodded and said in a playful manner, "I often take care of my father and younger brother at home."
"Let the second son take a look first," Old Man Jin said in a deep voice.
Then Granny Jin led Sun Miao'er into the house.
As soon as she stepped outside the inner room, a buckwheat pillow suddenly flew over and hit Sun Miao'er hard.
She breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, it was a buckwheat pillow; if it had been a jade pillow, it would have nearly killed her.
Then a man's shouts erupted from inside: "Get out! Don't bring these women here again! All of you, get out!"
Granny Jin looked troubled, unsure whether to go in or back, so she had no choice but to bite the bullet and lift the curtain to lead the person inside.
Sun Miao'er hid behind Granny Jin and vaguely saw a man lying on the bed.
The man's face was covered in pustules, which was extremely horrifying. If she hadn't been mentally strong, she probably would have vomited on the spot. Moreover, the stench in the room made her want to gag.
It turns out she had a strange illness; no wonder no one wanted to be her daughter-in-law.
It seems she wasn't the first woman to be kidnapped by the Jin family couple; it's just that the others seemed to have been sold elsewhere because they couldn't stand the Jin family's second son's terrifying appearance.
Not to mention those women couldn't stand it, she now felt terrified even to look at it again. What was lying there wasn't a human being, it was clearly a monster.
"Cough cough cough cough!" Old Jin cursed a couple of times and coughed a few more times, the coughing continuing intermittently.
Granny Jin seemed to be used to it all along, and said calmly, "Don't be confused! If you don't leave your father an heir, how can you die in peace?"
"Leave him an heir? What's the point of leaving him an heir? To let him continue to wreak havoc on others?" Jin Lao Er replied.
Huh? It sounds like Jin Lao Er doesn't approve of the Jin couple's actions, but rather scoffs at them?
Is he a good person?
But the next second she realized she was overthinking it.
Jin Lao Er said, "If I weren't currently unable to move, I would have killed as many of the people you brought as I did before!"
It turned out that he had killed all the people he had brought before... Sun Miao'er felt a little scared when she thought about it. Fortunately, he was now terminally ill and unable to move.
"Of all the people you've brought here, which one of them respects me? They all act like they've seen a ghost when they see me. Don't think I don't know! Anyway, I'm about to die, so we might as well die together!" Jin Lao Er roared madly, venting his dissatisfaction.
Granny Jin stopped talking, left Sun Miao'er in the house, turned around and left without a word, locking the door from the outside.
Only Jin Lao Er and Sun Miao Er remained in the room.
Sun Miao'er stood at a distance. The room had only a small window for ventilation, allowing a little light to seep in. Even with that little light, Jin Lao Er's face looked terrifying. It was hard to imagine how horrifying it must look from the outside.
"What, are you afraid of me?" Jin Lao Er sneered, staring straight at Sun Miao'er.
Sun Miao'er forced herself to meet those eyes, because perhaps only the immobile Jin Lao Er could be her breakthrough point, and maybe she could get some information out of him.
She shook her head. "No, I'm just not familiar with it."
"Do you know what happened to those girls before?" Jin Lao Er's face was ferocious, but he was still smiling.
Sun Miao'er straightened her body and tried to stand close to the corner of the wall. Although Jin Lao Er was no different from a cripple, she still dared not make any rash moves. "I just heard you say that you beat him to death."
"Yes, I killed them all!" Jin Lao Er laughed loudly. "Anyway, if I hadn't killed them, they would have suffered all the humiliation and committed suicide out of shame. I was just sending them on their way early, hahaha!"
Sun Miao'er didn't know what awaited her, or whether the Jin family couple would still release her. "Tell them to release me. I don't want to marry you."
“They won’t listen to me.” Jin Lao Er’s expression was almost maniacal, especially seeing such a vibrant life standing in front of him.
He suddenly laughed even louder, "Why should I be the one to suffer the consequences of their sins? What's the point of me living like this? But they won't let me die, they insist on prolonging my life with some kind of weird medicine. My father said he wants to leave an heir, isn't that ridiculous?!"
Sun Miao'er knew that people like him would rather die a quick death than live like a walking corpse, never even seeing the sun outside. "Do you know where those girls were sold to?"
"What does it matter to me where they are sold?" Jin Lao Er's previous arrogant laughter turned into a helpless bitter smile. His birth was retribution, God's retribution for the Jin family couple.
Sun Miao'er suddenly had an idea, "Maybe I can cure your illness?"
She certainly couldn't, but her master might have a way. However, saving such a vicious criminal was really not worth it.
But Jin Lao Er's smile gradually faded, and a chilling glint appeared in his sinister eyes. "I don't need your help. No one can save me. I just want to die. I've killed so many girls, but the authorities haven't come to arrest me. Isn't that funny? Come and arrest me! Let me die already!"
Sun Miao'er realized that talking to this madman was pointless; he wasn't listening to her at all, or rather, Jin Lao Er was so eager to die that he no longer cared about living or dying.
Moreover, with a face covered in sores like that, it's impossible to live like a normal person in broad daylight.
"You're lucky, I can't move anymore, so I can't kill you, but you'll still die!" Jin Lao Er's gaze never left Sun Miao'er. "In a couple of days, they'll open the door, lock you in the cellar, and then someone will come to buy you. Any kind of person can abuse you, hahahahaha!"
Sun Miao'er thought to herself, "Let's hurry up."
She wanted to go to the cellar, not stay with this madman. "Is your cousin also insane like this?"
Jin Lao Er exclaimed in surprise, "Ah! So you've seen her before?"
He nodded. "Yes, she was the first one to go crazy. She was my little sister who grew up with me, so I couldn't bear to kill her. But I scared her into going crazy. Maybe it's because she hadn't seen me like this since I got sick, so it's normal for her to go crazy."
It turns out it wasn't a disease I had in the womb; I contracted it later in life.
Imagine if a perfectly healthy person suffered such a blow; they would most likely become abnormal.
"Have you ever seen a woman who looks a lot like me?" Sun Miao'er pressed.
Jin Lao Er stared at him with his deep-set eyes, his gaze filled with endless emptiness. "I've met you."
"really?"
"Teenage girls all look just like you, hahaha, I've seen plenty, they've all been ruined!"
Sun Miao'er's initial excitement waned; it wasn't what she had imagined.
