Sun Miao'er brought over the remaining half jar of Shaoxing wine and placed it on the square table, along with three porcelain bowls.
Liang Huai'an couldn't wait any longer. He picked up the jar and filled each bowl in turn, shouting, "Come on, Brother Fu, nephew, it's rare to have such a good time. Let's drink until we drop!"
"Drink less! Liang Huai'an, let me make this clear, Jingnian is young, don't corrupt him!" Wei Shuhua said sternly before her husband handed her the wine, telling him to drink in moderation.
Liang Huai'an waved his hand and pushed the wine bowl away, "Wife, don't worry! I know what I'm doing! Besides, how old is Jingnian this year? Seventeen, right? I was already slaughtering pigs for several years when I was seventeen! I'm not a child anymore!"
"Don't worry, Auntie, I'll only drink one bowl." Wei Jingnian's family was quite strict, and he was always taught to focus on his studies. He had only secretly tried alcohol a few times. Being young and impetuous, he finally had a chance to show off, and he was not under his father's control, so how could he refuse?
Fu Yuchi took the wine bowl and said in a low voice, "Brother Liang, you're too kind."
Sun Miao'er glanced sideways. She had never seen her master drink alcohol before, and even the way he held the bowl was unusually restrained and controlled.
Liang Huai'an was a straightforward man; he tilted his head back and downed a bowl of wine in one gulp. Wei Jingnian was not to be outdone; he drank half a bowl and started coughing, his face turning red.
Er Ya burst into laughter, pointing at him and saying, "Brother choked on his drink, hahaha, brother can't drink!"
Despite blushing, Wei Jingnian didn't forget to defend himself, "Nonsense! Who said your older brother can't drink!"
He then downed the remaining half bowl in one gulp, without even taking a breath.
Only Fu Yuchi hadn't drunk any more. He wasn't in a hurry. He waited until the other two had finished their bowls before picking up his own, taking a sip, and smiling, "Yuchi, you two are better off. Just a little bit is enough."
Liang Huai'an was unwilling to accept this and exclaimed, "Brother Fu, that's not fair of you. This is nothing. You're not even as good as my nephew, a young man, are you?"
Wei Jingnian glanced at Fu Yuchi with a smug look, toying with the empty bowl he had drunk from, as if he were taunting him.
Fu Yuchi lowered her head, took a sip of Shaoxing wine, and a blush rose to her face, adding a touch of allure to her appearance. "I'm getting old, so it's only natural that I'm not as good as the younger generation. There's a saying that the younger generation surpasses the older generation, and I have to admit it!"
As he spoke, it was as if he were muttering to himself. Sun Miao'er felt that these words were meant to pierce her heart, so she secretly glanced at her master.
By sheer coincidence, she caught her master's gaze, feeling frustrated, resentful, and disappointed.
Sun Miao'er remembered that some people are quite sensitive to alcohol. Even a tiny bit of alcohol won't make them drunk, but it will make their face or even their whole body turn red. She now felt that her master was one of those people.
Fu Yuchi lowered his head and mumbled, this time not sipping the wine, but instead, like Liang Huai'an, tilting his head back and drinking the wine in his bowl.
Sun Miao'er was taken aback. People who are sensitive to alcohol can't get drunk even a little bit, but their alcohol tolerance is not very good either. Isn't Master afraid of getting drunk and passing out if he drinks like this?
"Brother Fu, what a straightforward guy!" Liang Huai'an, a little tipsy, patted Fu Yuchi on the shoulder and poured him another full glass.
Wei Jingnian drank two bowls in a row, and as he became drunk, he became somewhat delirious, babbling incoherently, "Auntie, this wine is really good! Wine is a wonderful thing!"
He swayed as he stood up from the table, nearly falling over, but fortunately Wei Shuhua caught him in time.
Wei Shuhua glared at her husband and pretended to scold him, "I told you to drink less, but you still drank! Now look what happened, you've gotten Jingnian drunk!"
"It's alright, let's keep drinking. Come on, Brother Fu, let's have another one!" It's true that Liang Huai'an is usually afraid of his wife, but once the alcohol kicks in, he won't even blink if the Emperor himself comes.
Sun Miao'er wanted to step forward to stop Fu Yuchi, but before she could even extend her hand, the man buried his head and drank another bowl of wine. After two bowls, his face was no longer just slightly flushed, but his cheeks were rosy, as if they were covered with a layer of rosy clouds.
The half-empty jar of Shaoxing wine was emptied in just a few rounds under Liang Huai'an's relentless onslaught. Liang Huai'an shook the jar, then let out a burp, "Niece, is there any more wine at home?"
"Uncle Liang, this is all I have at home. You should at least leave me some leftover wine for cooking, right?" Sun Miao'er said with a smile, hoping the party would end soon and that she would never let Uncle Liang touch wine again.
Wei Shuhua opened the can, "Honey, drink less. Jingnian can't take it anymore. We'll get together again next time! Er Ya, hold your dad tight!"
Wei Jingnian was so drunk that he was talking nonsense. He would call Sun Miao'er "sister" one minute and "sister" the next, and he would pick up Xiaoman and spin her around, which frightened Xiaoman quite a bit.
Wei Shuhua helped Wei Jingnian, and Er Ya helped Liang Huai'an, who was still able to stand, to say goodbye to Grandma Sun and went home drunk.
The table was a mess, and besides that, there was a half-drunk Fu Yuchi.
Sun Miao'er couldn't tell if he was truly drunk or pretending. If he was genuinely drunk, he could still sit at the table with a straight face. If he was faking it, his flushed face couldn't lie.
"Master?" Sun Miao'er stepped forward and tentatively asked.
The man in front of her didn't say a word, his head was down, and after a long while he raised his head. His eyes were red from drinking and had a seductive look on them. This face really shouldn't be touched by alcohol.
Once you're tainted by it, you'll be incredibly alluring, captivating everyone's heart and soul.
At least at this moment, Sun Miao'er's heart was stirred. She knew that her master was good-looking, but she did not expect that her master would be so alluring when drunk. The word "beauty" was not enough to describe such a face.
Fu Yuchi stared at her in a daze, remaining silent, but murmured softly, "Miao'er."
What kind of respectable person shouts like that?
Sun Miao'er stood there helplessly, and said softly, "Master, you're drunk."
The man in front of him straightened up, but because he was drunk, he lost his balance and swayed, almost falling backward.
In a moment of desperation, Sun Miao'er reached out and supported his back. Supporting his broad shoulders, her forearms strained, and it was indeed difficult. After finally straightening him up, he started to sway from side to side.
He seems to be truly drunk.
Sun Miao'er thought about taking him back to the medicine hut, but then she looked at the man's physique and thought, "Hmm, this is physically demanding work."
This method won't work.
Why don't we rest here for the night?
Sun Miao'er thought it was okay.
"Miao'er, what are you going to teach him? No, you, teach him." Fu Yuchi spoke almost word by word, expressing his resentment from tonight, his displeasure at seeing her smile at another man.
He didn't understand what that smile meant, and he was afraid it might be her affection for someone else.
Sun Miao'er found that her master was just like a child, a child who was waiting to be coaxed, a child who was angry.
She held onto his shoulders, afraid he would fall. Such close contact would only make him more immersed in her beauty.
She gently reassured him, "Okay, I won't teach him."
