Chapter 11: A Critical Moment
Qi Xu had very good hearing. She heard the man put her against the hardwood partition of a cabinet in the compartment, then turned and went out of the house.
She guessed that the man wanted to throw the unconscious Jiang Hongyi out or get rid of him.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Qi Xu squinted his eyes and observed the situation in the compartment with the light from the gap in the window next to him.
Not only does she have good eyesight, she also has a very sensitive sense of smell, and can vaguely see unusual things in dim light.
The entire compartment was divided into wooden partitions. She also smelled a lot of death. When she tried to look up, she could only see different women's hair on the top of each partition.
Qi Xu was a little suspicious. If there was death energy, it meant that there would be souls nearby, but she didn't see any. This was not normal.
She raised her hand and counted with her fingers, only to find out that the reason there were no souls around was that they were probably suppressed or sealed off by the sorcerer hired by the man in the photo studio.
That's why all the negative energy in the photo studio surrounded that man but couldn't get in. It's likely that he was carrying some kind of amulet or protective jade item.
Qi Xu calculated that Jiang Hongyi should wake up in about a minute. With his help, his actions would be smoother.
She held her breath and began to move her hands. She saw her hands turning up and down, and soon a 'Thousand Miles Tracking' was searching rapidly in the dark space without a trace.
This is the fastest way to find the location or object that seals all the ghosts.
In just three or four seconds, the 'Thousand Miles Chase' finally hovered above an exquisite sandalwood cosmetic box in a corner.
Before she could continue, she heard the sound of fighting outside the cubicle.
Within five minutes, Qi Xu's most familiar footsteps gradually approached the compartment. Suddenly, she muttered, "The power of wind, transformed into a blade."
He turned his hand left and right, and the air flowing around his hand instantly condensed into a sharp blade and hit the sandalwood makeup box high up.
The moment Jiang Hongyi stepped into the compartment with his left foot, the talisman paper on the makeup box was cut in half by the wind blade. The souls in the makeup box felt the power of the seal disappear and swarmed out.
In an instant, it turned into gusts of cold wind that rushed out of the door curtain of the compartment.
Jiang Hongyi could feel a slight chill, but he had no time to think about it, fearing that every second of delay would increase Qi Xu's danger.
He walked quickly into the compartment and found that the structure inside the compartment was different. He opened the partitions one by one and searched.
The scenes before him made Jiang Hongyi feel disbelief again and again.
The partition was full of dead people, dead women with exquisite makeup. Every woman's eyes were open, and her whole body, including her head, was tied up by ropes so thin that they were invisible. They were hung and fixed to the partition like shadow puppets in a shadow play.
Every time he opened a partition, his heart sank a little, worried that Qi Xu would appear lifeless in the next partition.
Qi Xu was annoyed that he was searching the partitions one by one too slowly, so she pretended to be weak and coughed slightly, hoping that Jiang Hongyi would find her location quickly.
Jiang Hongyi was certainly no pushover. When he heard the noise, he used his ears to carefully identify the direction from which the sound came. He quickly determined it and took a few big steps to the partition where Qi Xu was. He quickly opened the partition door and saw Qi Xu's body tilted with his head down, motionless.
He didn't dare to step forward to check Qi Xu's breathing for a moment. It was not until Qi Xu coughed weakly again that he dared to step forward, picked up Qi Xu by the waist and rushed out the door.
Jiang Hongyi lowered his head to observe Qi Xu's condition. Only when he saw her chest rising and falling with his naked eyes did he confirm that she was still alive.
Qi Xu thought it was about time, so he slowly opened his eyes, but the first thing he looked at was the man lying on the ground inside the door.
His eyes fell on the broken jade token on the ground, and when he moved upwards, he saw that all the women's souls were pinching the neck of the man in the photo studio.
Thinking that something was wrong, he quickly closed his eyes again, muttering the mantra for salvation in a low voice. With his other hand behind Jiang Hongyi, he drew a talisman for salvation in the air and slapped it straight over.
If a ghost kills a living person, it cannot enter the cycle of reincarnation. All the mistakes are the man's fault. She doesn't want these women to ruin their own rebirth because of this.
Perhaps because of the excessive use of mental power, Qi Xu's face instantly turned several shades paler.
Jiang Hongyi leaned over just now because of her mouth movements, wanting to hear her words clearly, "Call the police, the police station..."
Qi Xu fainted from exhaustion just after he finished speaking.
Before she fell into a coma, she was still complaining about her miserable body being too fragile and unreliable.
Seeing Qi Xu fainted again, Jiang Hongyi's eyes turned red and he was extremely annoyed.
Damn it, if he hadn't insisted on taking pictures, Qi Xu wouldn't have fallen into this state.
Jiang Hongyi looked up and quickly scanned to see if there were any hospitals or clinics nearby. Just when he was feeling discouraged, he vaguely saw the word "Clinic" at the turn behind the intersection ahead.
He didn't care about anything else, picked up Qi Xu and ran towards the clinic.
Jiang Hongyi finally felt relieved when the doctor said that Qi Xu was just unconscious due to taking too many drugs.
After instructing the doctor to help take care of Qi Xu, he quickly went to the local police station to report the case and record his statement so that the police could quickly arrest the heinous man in the photo studio.
After dealing with all this, he bought some food on the way back to the clinic, thinking that Qi Xu might be hungry after waking up.
Qi Xu didn't know how long he had been unconscious. When he woke up, he felt a little confused. He wanted to raise his hand to pat his head but was restrained in mid-air.
"Don't move. I'm on IV drip. Be careful with the needle."
A hoarse and familiar male voice came to his ears, and Qi Xu felt relieved instantly, and his hand was gently put back in place.
Qi Xu opened his eyes. In the dim light, Jiang Hongyi seemed to be covered with a layer of light and looked a little sacred.
She narrowed her eyes, "Did you call the police?"
"Well, everything has been resolved. Just go ahead and get the infusion."
Jiang Hongyi didn't expect that the first thing she said would be to call the police. He was still lying weakly on the hospital bed, and she still had the time to call the police.
The tone of his voice was cold and coercive, making Qi Xu unable to resist for a moment. He lay obediently on the bed, staring at the infusion bottle, watching every drop of medicine flow into his blood vessels through the infusion tube.
"Are you... okay?"
Jiang Hongyi felt that his attitude just now seemed a bit bad, so he softened his voice and asked.
"Not dead yet."
Qi Xu wanted to tease him again, and replied with three words with a look of despair on his face.
This made Jiang Hongyi, who was sitting next to him, feel even more guilty. "I...it's my fault...Just now, I was too anxious, I..."
Jiang Hongyi clenched his fists at his sides. At this moment, he hated himself for being tongue-tied. An explanation or an apology was a little difficult for him to say.
