What are the quirks of women in love?
On Sunday, Jiang Cheng rushed out of his house and got into the car parked outside. He looked out the window, still shaken, his heart pounding.
Just now, while he was having breakfast, he experienced something very bizarre.
The two were chatting and laughing when suddenly Luo Xiaoli popped a cherry tomato into her mouth, took a bite, and a sly look appeared in her eyes.
She held the half-eaten piece in her moist lips, raised her chin, and gave Jiang Cheng a soft "hmm," indicating that he should take it with his mouth.
In his line of sight, the red juice of the cherry tomatoes splattered out, especially noticeable on Xiao Li's lips, mixed with a trace of her saliva.
"eat."
The girl raised an eyebrow.
Jiang Cheng looked at her and shuddered. The scene and actions were too perverted... How could Luo Xiaoli have so many wicked tastes? He hesitated, thinking about what he should do.
Just then, the phone rang, calling for help. He quickly took out his phone from his pocket to answer it. After saying "hello" a few times, he stood up and left the living room, returning to his room to change his clothes under her resentful gaze.
"You eat first, I have things to do."
Jiang Cheng nodded solemnly to Xiao Li, changed his clothes and shoes, and ran out the door in a flash.
She stared at her brother's departing figure, snorted coldly, bit into the remaining half of the cherry tomato, and licked her moist lips.
Inside the car.
He caught his breath, adjusted his posture to make himself more comfortable, and asked Gu Qingwan, "How's it going with the arrangements for you?"
"It's been investigated, and there might be a slight improvement in the situation." She handed over a packaged document.
Jiang Cheng took the document. A couple of days ago, he had Gu Qingwan check Liu Kang's resume and achievements. His proposal at the Biotechnology Institute was actually quite good; Jiang Cheng had no reason to prevent it from passing. As for the other pharmaceutical companies bidding, they were even worse than Kangming Pharmaceutical—they were unscrupulous to an outrageous degree…
If there's no room for maneuver, he intends to let Liu Kang take over this chronic disease market.
Jiang Cheng opened his resume and looked at it carefully.
The only sound inside the car was the rustling of papers; it was eerily quiet.
After a while, his brows furrowed tightly.
Liu Kang graduated from university at the age of 22 and then joined a medical device company, where he rose to the position of regional manager within five years. He then resigned, found partners to start his own business, raised investment, and focused on researching drugs for mental illnesses. Once developed, the drugs received widespread acclaim, but then the company went bankrupt.
The reason for his bankruptcy was that his drug was too effective, dominating the market. Unlike tranquilizers that only calmed patients' agitation, it genuinely had the potential to treat mental illnesses. This threatened the interests of certain powerful figures, so the young man with no connections was brutally knocked from the branch to the mud.
He regretted it, worked in an electronics factory for three years, day and night, and then he had an epiphany.
Thirty-year-old Liu Kang stood on the deathly assembly line, looking up at the countless other workers like himself, living like zombies. He stared blankly at the bright light above him, threw down the parts and hammer in his hands, sat on his wooden bed in the dormitory all night, and then went off to start his own business again.
Twenty years have passed in the blink of an eye. The once passionate young man has become a capitalist. He succumbed to the prevailing circumstances and then soared to great heights, transforming from Xiao Liu to General Manager Liu.
Jiang Cheng twirled the edge of the paper with his fingers, as if suddenly realizing something.
"In addition, I also discovered that an elderly man was also looking for Liu Kang. He lived in the suburbs of Kyoto and had even tried to report the case to the police station, but nothing came of it."
"An old man? Do you know the exact address? Let's go see him."

On the outskirts of the city, in a desolate place, lies the infamous Industrial Road No. 2, where factories of all sizes stand with their gates tightly shut, devoid of people, with only smoke billowing from their chimneys.
Kangming Medical Co., Ltd. welcomed an extraordinary guest.
Liu Kang quickly came out to greet him, followed by a man in his thirties whose eyes were filled with eager light, simply because the person who came was Jiang Cheng.
A renowned scientific research leader in China, and an idol for most medical researchers.
The medical staff rubbed their hands excitedly. At the entrance, they saw the black sedan. Jiang Cheng stepped out of it, his face calm.
"Why is Dean Jiang here? He didn't even tell us beforehand so we could have organized a welcome."
"No need," he waved his hand.
"Let's go inside the factory for a tour, and we can talk as we walk."
"I won't go in. I came here to treat you to a meal. Are you free?"
He was stunned for a few seconds before coming to his senses. "Of course there is."
"Get in the car."
Just as Jiang Cheng was about to leave, the medical worker who had come with him suddenly stopped him, "Dean Jiang!" His call was full of fervor, and something flickered in his eyes.
"Could you... sign your name for me?" He took out paper and pen from his pocket, his expression hesitant and tentative.
"Okay." To the man's surprise, Jiang Cheng took the signature cleanly and neatly, and even smiled at him.
"Let me introduce you to Dean Jiang. This is our pharmaceutical factory's most outstanding medical researcher. He improved many effective drugs. His name is Shang Ji," Liu Kang added from the side.
Jiang Cheng's eyes lit up, and he reached out to shake the hand of the researcher who looked surprised and incredulous.
"Impressive. I've seen the drug formulary you developed. These are ideas that only a few people would have. You must be working very hard. Keep up the good work!"
