Jiang Cheng held the report in his hand and remained silent for a long, long time. The corridor was quiet, as if they sensed that something was wrong with his expression.
He waved, and the doctor returned to his office. Jiang Cheng sighed, folded the documents, put them away, sat down in a chair, and rubbed his face.
Actually, he already had the answer in his heart before the test, didn't he? He had already anticipated the worst outcome, he just needed confirmation.
Two days later, from Kyoto to the Northwest, and then back to Lanjing from the Northwest, Jiangcheng is going to see Mizutani Yumi for the second time.
However, her status has changed somewhat recently, and in addition to official business, she now has more personal matters to attend to.
On his journey, Jiang Cheng kept sorting out his feelings. He quietly watched the scenery rushing past the window, slowly closed his eyes, and, feeling somewhat tired, fell asleep.

Several hours later.
In the circular prison, he returned. It was the first time You Lixuan had seen Jiang Cheng's face so solemn. Even though he was calm, you could see that his face was covered with worry.
He didn't waste any more time and immediately had the warden arrange a second meeting.
Jiang Cheng had many questions for Mizutani Yumi, but his primary task was still the Brain Simulation Project.
Even if she refuses again, it doesn't matter. He needs to at least exchange more information and understand what kind of person Luo Xiaoli's mother really is. Although her antisocial personality is undeniable, Jiang Cheng still needs to know her opinion of Xiaoli.
It was still the same interrogation room, separated by a thick layer of glass in the middle. Below the knees, the room was made of solid steel, and two rows of lights embedded in the ceiling made the room seem particularly cold.
Jiang Cheng sat quietly, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the table in front of him. He was very calm. His mind seemed to quiet down with the dull tapping.
A special police officer, fully encased in protective gear, emerged from the side door. He was unarmed, carrying only a baton, and opened the door.
The special police's gaze compelled Yumiko Mizutani to step out. She walked confidently toward the interrogation chair, as if she'd done this a thousand times before. Hua Xia had been relentlessly trying to uncover the secrets she possessed. Her life revolved around two places: her usual room and this cold, sterile room.
Mizutani Yumi didn't look up at Jiang Cheng. Instead, she sat down and put her hands up so that the special police could detain her and lock her in shackles.
"No need to lock it," Jiang Cheng said, waving his hand to stop the SWAT team from moving.
Separated by a glass partition, the man was clearly startled for a moment before looking up at the warden sitting behind Jiang Cheng.
“Do as I say. Dean Jiang’s words are my words.” The short man nodded.
He undoubtedly made a very bold decision, showing sufficient sincerity. Mizutani Yumi's expression suddenly relaxed; being shackled would not put her in a good mood.
This laid the foundation for the two to have a smooth conversation.
"What does Miss Mizutani think of the brain simulation project?"
Her face was still pale, but a rather amusing smile appeared on her face.
“Very good. Any technological advancement requires something revolutionary, something that breaks through conventional concepts. Your idea is correct and you are a big step ahead of the world.”
"I think Miss Shuiting would also be interested in scientific research. This kind of passion comes from the bottom of her heart. I sincerely hope to invite you to participate in this project, so that we can at least leave something behind. We will both die in the end, so why can't we do something?"
"No, I've already done so much. Even if I die now, those who are meant to remember me will still remember me." Her lips twitched, then her eyes suddenly curved into a beautiful smile.
Such a stunning face, coupled with a vivid smile that seemed to come alive like a painting, instantly took the breath away of the people at the other end of the interrogation room.
You Lixuan was momentarily stunned, staring blankly at her for several seconds. Then, as if waking from a dream, he quickly turned his head away, his expression in those few seconds completely out of control.
Jiang Cheng didn't react that strongly; Luo Xiaoli had given him some immunity.
"What I said is true, and people's respect is always better than their fear."
"Right...right things?" She stared at Jiang Cheng with a questioning look. "Do you get to define right and wrong? I've never thought what I did was bad. Ultimately, it was all for myself. You're respected for your scientific research, but I'm respected by the organization just as much. Some people hate me, and some people worship me like a god. Do you know that many people also hate you?"
"That makes sense."
“You must stand firm in your beliefs. I think the simulated brain project is of no value to me. What good would it do if it were completed? Would it benefit humanity? Why should humanity?” Mizutani Yumi’s deep pupils lit up, containing countless philosophical thoughts.
"What was the purpose of your former organization's base in Rio de Janeiro, where you were researching gene-based drugs? You were harming others to pursue your own interests. I know that Miss Shuiting is not a rule-follower, but I am, so our perceptions may be skewed."
“No, no, no,” Mizutani Yumi stretched out a hand, her fair wrist pointing to a certain spot. Her behavior was extremely strange, and she was like a spider lily that was sometimes pale and sometimes alluring. “You follow the rules only because you haven’t seen the truth of this world. Only by abandoning the constraints can you live more freely. If you don’t care about your country, you will be free from moral constraints. If you don’t care about the opposite sex, you will not be hurt. If you don’t care about fame and fortune, you will not feel mediocre.”
