Chapter 267 Meeting the Flower Shop Owner

Once inside the city, the car bearing the Federation insignia stood out on the street, attracting frequent glances from pedestrians. After all, the Federation had only recently been established and had always existed under the guise of "fighting the mysterious." Although it was very close, it was usually rare to see a Federation car, let alone one carrying three very beautiful women.

Aesthetic standards vary from place to place. For example, in the remote mountains near the Arctic Ocean, where people generally have high physical fitness, they consider someone like Adela to be beautiful. But regardless of these subtle differences, the Eastern beauty embodied by Luo Xiaoli and others is undeniable.

Their foreheads, mouths, and noses, in the eyes of others, have a certain classical beauty.

It's a completely different feeling from blonde hair and blue eyes.

Aside from Ke Bing, Luo Xiaoli had a somewhat aloof and indifferent vibe, and she didn't pay attention to other people's opinions.

Zhao Xuerou, perhaps used to being the center of attention, didn't care much about being the focus of attention.

"Three-no girls" refers to girls who are usually quiet and expressionless, making it difficult to see their inner world. They are the opposite of girls who are expressive and cheerful.

As noon approached and the sun was still shining, Luo Xiaoli laid the map distributed by the Federation flat on her lap. Ke Bing, who was next to her, stretched out her finger and pressed a point on the map. "Yes, this is the first place we need to go."

Luo Xiaoli nodded. Ke Bing had just been referring to a small shop that sold flowers and seeds.

She rarely grows things, but she completely understands this hobby. In some people's eyes, things planted in flowerpots are never inanimate objects; they are living entities that allow their owners to observe the ups and downs of their lives in a short period of time. Sprouting, growing, leaping out of the flowerpot, sprouting leaves, blooming in a flash on a quiet night, and giving a surprise to the sleepy humans the next morning.

Ke Bing has planted a lot of flowers in her rented apartment in Lanjing. That's the kind of person she is. Before coming here, she even gave the apartment key to a friend so that he could go over and water the flowers and move them to the balcony to bask in the sun when he has time.

So, the first stop on my short trip was this seed shop.

"Driver, this is where we're going." Ke Bing handed over the map and shoved it in front of him.

The driver who transported the three was a taciturn middle-aged man with a stubble beard and melancholy eyes, though his gaze remained fixed on the road. He wore a greyish-white federal uniform, had thick, long hair, and looked quite reliable.

The driver glanced at the map, then skillfully turned the corner and headed towards his destination.

Not long after entering the city, after crossing two long roads, she saw white doves flying haphazardly in the air. They traced elegant arcs, wandering aimlessly above the city, occasionally landing on the roadside, seemingly oblivious to pedestrians and vehicles, showing no fear whatsoever. Luo Xiaoli looked to her right, curiously watching the doves. After a while, her view suddenly opened up, revealing railings and many arched bridges along the roadside, with a gently flowing river coming into view.

She suddenly paused, a look of surprise crossing her delicate face, because at the end of the river where it forked, there stood a domed building.

Bathed in sunlight, the building appears golden overall, but upon closer inspection, the stone slabs used are actually a dull white, and the dome has many recesses carved out to hold decorative lamps.

Even though she had never been here before, Luo Xiaoli felt a sense of familiarity with the place; she even felt as if she had seen the Round Building a thousand times.

The car wasn't moving slowly, so she didn't have enough time to look at it. The sudden doubt in her mind was inexplicable; it was more like a rootless illusion, like duckweed floating on a lake.

It scattered with a gust of wind.

After crossing the river, Luo Xiaoli was still frowning and turning her head to look back. Her action aroused Zhao Xuerou's suspicion, and she went to look with her, but she couldn't see any details.

"What's wrong?"

"I...I think I've been here before."

"Impossible, this place is seven or eight thousand kilometers away from China. Oh, I see, it's an illusion. Many times people feel that they have definitely seen what they see before."

"Maybe."

After saying those three words, Luo Xiaoli looked away, lost in thought.

After crossing the river, they were getting closer and closer to where Ke Bing wanted to go. The driver even reminded them that it was only a few kilometers away. Ke Bing nodded, feeling excited.

Finally, on an unfamiliar road, the driver stopped the car near the side of the road. She couldn't wait to get out of the car, carrying a small bag on her back. Her face was full of joy. Before Luo Xiaoli could catch up, Ke Bing's figure had already reached the entrance of that alley.

"Wait a minute, what's the rush?" Zhao Xuerou called out.

Ke Bing turned her head, unable to hide the ever-growing corners of her mouth, and stopped walking, but her eyes kept drifting into the alley. "Hurry up, hurry up, I see that shop, it's inside."

"knew!"

The other two girls quickly ran over, and the three of them entered the innermost part of the alley together. The waiting driver also got out of the car and walked inside unhurriedly. He was responsible for protecting the safety of these students, which was of utmost importance.

Standing in front of the legendary flower and seed shop, Zhao Xuerou was surprised by its unassuming appearance. A small, brown wooden sign, adorned with bold, colorful paintings of flowers and seeds, contrasted sharply with the worn-out wooden sign itself. The shop's name was a long string of English letters.

As they pushed open the shop door, a pleasant bell rang. The three of them stepped inside and immediately smelled a faint, not unpleasant, earthy odor.

This earthy smell is mixed with a variety of pleasant aromas, like the fragrance of countless flowers.

The outside is unremarkable, making it hard to imagine that this little shop is a hidden gem. Inside, the splendor fills the room and walls. Everywhere you look, there are flowerpots of different colors, many of which are still buds, with lights illuminating them to simulate sunlight.

Everything was wet, as if it were a kingdom of dew and soil.

The three girls looked at the flowers with curiosity. Girls really do love flowers. Their eyes were filled with joy, but Ke Bing's joy was even more pronounced.

"Boss?" she asked tentatively, walking forward to a narrow staircase inside. Even the handrails and the recesses in the walls were filled with flowers she couldn't name.

How romantic must one be to create such a country?

Upon reaching the second floor, the warmth of real sunlight washed over you. It turned out that the roof of the second floor had been cut off, creating a huge terrace filled with a dazzling array of colors that assaulted your eyes.

Just beyond the winding path lined with countless flowers, there was a small bar counter piled with all sorts of odds and ends, where a figure was bent over and busy at work.

Ke Bing walked over and carefully tapped the wooden bar counter. The slender, thin figure suddenly raised her head and accidentally bumped into the tray for holding porcelain basins that protruded from the shelf.

The boss winced in pain, letting out a soft cry, "Ouch... Ouch!"
