Chapter 328 Zhao Xuerou's Utter Humility

After looking away, Jiang Cheng simply lowered his head and stared at his toes.

He already knew the layout of the room by heart; looking at it any further would be pointless, and it would only make things worse for him…

Jiang Cheng followed the foot on the ground and looked up, and found that he was not wearing furniture-style clothing, but rather just black trousers, paired with a white silk shirt, a style that is hard to go wrong with. However, the fabric of the clothes felt excellent and was obviously very expensive.

What exactly is his identity...?

Thinking of this, Jiang Cheng couldn't help but shift his gaze to Zhao Xuerou in the kitchen.

Despite Zhao Xuerou's beauty, he felt no interest in her whatsoever, only staring at her with an intensely inquisitive gaze. If Jiang Cheng's gaze could materialize, he probably would have already stared a hole through Zhao Xuerou's delicate back.

At the same time, Zhao Xuerou, who was by the stove, suddenly exclaimed.

"ah!"

She hurriedly took a few steps back, then frowned and pinched her fingertips.

The next second, I turned off the heat, turned on the tap, and rinsed my fingers under cold water...

All the movements were performed in one smooth motion.

The smoothness of these movements only proves that Zhao Xuerou is used to cooking.

This made Jiang Cheng even more puzzled.

Why should someone like her, a privileged young lady from a wealthy family, have to cook for herself?

But Jiang Cheng did not get up.

Although he was slightly moved, he stopped in his tracks when he thought of Luo Xiaoli. He even shifted his gaze away slightly, staring blankly at the clock on the opposite wall.

Only after Zhao Xuerou turned off the tap did he slightly turn his gaze back, clearing his throat discreetly: "Ahem, is it ready?"

"Okay! All done!"

Zhao Xuerou didn't even have time to treat her burned fingertips before she dropped the spatula and ran to the cupboard. She hurriedly ladled out the cooked noodles and, enduring the stinging pain in her hands, carefully placed them in front of Jiang Cheng.

With a refreshing fragrance, Jiangcheng finally had a focal point.

He looked down and saw a bowl of milky white soup being served by Zhao Xuerou's delicate white hands.

Unfortunately, at this moment, the tip of her right finger was completely red and swollen, and there was even a slight tendency for blisters to appear.

Zhao Xuerou immediately noticed Jiang Cheng's gaze, hurriedly hid her hands behind her back, lowered her head, and timidly said, "The noodles are ready."

"Um."

Seeing that she was avoiding the look, Jiang Cheng stopped looking at her and turned his attention back to the bowl of clear soup noodles he had never seen before.

The ingredients for the bowl of noodles looked very simple: a poached egg, four or five fresh, vibrant green vegetables, and a few slices of tomato resting under the noodles in the broth. Even before tasting it, Jiang Cheng could already sense the dish's appealing color, aroma, and taste.

Let's try it then.

He lowered his head, first taking a sip of the rich soup, and a fragrant aroma immediately invaded the back of his tongue.

Jiang Cheng looked up in surprise at Zhao Xuerou: "Is this still fish soup?"

"Well, you always like fish soup, right? So I made a little extra to save for you to have as a late-night snack."

Zhao Xuerou didn't know whether Jiang Cheng's surprise was due to happiness or unhappiness. She nervously gripped her skirt under the table and stirred it in her hands: "If you don't like it, I'll make it again for you."

As she spoke, she was about to get up.

Jiang Cheng quickly stopped her and picked up his chopsticks, saying, "No need, it's fine."

Zhao Xuerou finally sat down with a sigh of relief, her eyes never leaving Jiang Cheng.

Although Jiang Cheng felt a little uncomfortable from her excessive attention, he didn't show it and just lowered his head to eat his noodles.

Since he is in the dream dimension, he must not show any abnormality.

After a while, Jiang Cheng felt the eerie atmosphere around him growing stronger, so he slightly raised his eyelids and met Zhao Xuerou's gaze, who was sitting at the corner of the table: "Go back to sleep first, don't wait for me."

"No, no." Zhao Xuerou waved her hands in a panic, unable to come up with a coherent answer for a long time, and her face turned bright red.

Jiang Cheng was even more puzzled, and then continued in this manner of small talk, "Well, if you're not going to sleep, make yourself a bowl of noodles and eat it too, instead of just watching me eat here."

"No, no, no!"

This time, Zhao Xuerou's refusal was even more vehement. After waving her hands for a long time, she finally managed to squeeze out three words through gritted teeth: "I'm not hungry..."

If the house hadn't been so quiet, Jiang Cheng probably wouldn't have been able to hear what Zhao Xuerou was saying.

Since things had come to this point, he didn't intend to force her to do anything, so he simply nodded and continued eating his noodles in silence.

On the other side, Zhao Xuerou, who had just been asked a few words of concern by Jiang Cheng, looked nervous and stared at Jiang Cheng even more intently than before.

In this atmosphere, he couldn't eat much.

Feeling more than 70% full, just the right state for sleep, Jiang Cheng put down his chopsticks, stood up, and gently dabbed his lips with a tissue: "I'm full."

"Okay, let's go back to sleep then."

Zhao Xuerou followed him into the bedroom.

The two walked through the house one after the other. Although the atmosphere was extremely awkward and strange, Jiang Cheng estimated that the house was less than 70 square meters, and it was only a few steps from the farthest dining room back to the bedroom.

Back in his room, Jiang Cheng had just sat down on the bed when he turned around and found that Zhao Xuerou was gone again.

"Where are they...?"
