Chapter 344 The Hoarding Syndrome of the Dream Dimension

Jiang Cheng stared strangely at the old woman's departing figure, a question lingering in his mind.

At the same time, September and the blonde woman also raised their heads again, and only after the elderly woman had been gone for a while did they slowly follow. Seeing the two figures already in the distance, Jiang Cheng, although unsure of where he should go, still followed them step by step.

Even if he doesn't know where to go, he can't just stay here, can he?

At the same time, Jiang Cheng recalled the words the old woman had said before she left.

"Go back to the village."

The village...

What kind of place is it?

Looking around, Jiang Cheng became increasingly confused about where he was.

Time flies.

Jiang Cheng only remembered that when they walked out of the small black prison, it was probably an extremely hot afternoon. But now, when he looked up into the distance, he found that the afterglow of the setting sun shone through the layers of trees and fell on the red brick and green tile roofs of farmhouses in the distance, creating an extremely warm scene.

farmhouse?

Jiang Cheng then realized that, following the path they had taken, after countless turns, they had finally emerged from the somewhat gloomy woods.

At this moment, the three of them seemed to have returned to the vicinity of a small village.

The two women walked silently ahead of him, one in front and one behind, which gave Jiang Cheng a chance to observe his surroundings.

Looking at the wisps of smoke rising from the chimneys in the distance, Jiang Cheng's doubts deepened.

This must be the "village" the old woman was talking about, right?

Jiang Cheng looked at the scenery that suddenly opened up before him and naturally took a good look at everything in front of him.

In this small village, it seems that every building was constructed according to the same blueprints, and even the wooden fences next to them are the same height. If it weren't for the different house numbers in front of the doors, it would probably be common to go to the wrong house.

Wait, the address?

Jiang Cheng's mind stirred, and he focused his gaze on the doorplate closest to him. Although he couldn't make out what was written on it, since it was still a bit far away, he could roughly make out that it was a series of names.

Now, if he finds out his own name, he'll most likely be able to return to his little cabin, right?

Thinking of this, Jiang Cheng quickly began searching his body.

If he could find out his identity before he fully entered the village, he wouldn't be suspected by the two women for behaving strangely.

At this point, maintaining the stability of the dream plane is of utmost importance.

Jiangcheng has always kept this in mind.

Sure enough, perseverance pays off. Jiang Cheng finally found a hard little wooden plaque in a hidden compartment in his lower back. When he took it out, the three characters "Minglingye" were clearly visible on it.

This must be his name, right?

At this moment, September and the blonde girl had already entered the village and turned to go in two different directions. Jiang Cheng then reluctantly chose a side road and went in, looking for a house with the name "Minglingye".

Fortunately, it's alright.

Jiang Cheng was initially worried that his reckless wandering might arouse suspicion from others, but September and the blonde girl left without even glancing at him. After parting ways with them, Jiang Cheng didn't see a single person appear in the village.

Although it was eerily quiet, Jiang Cheng wasn't around. He just wanted to find his house as soon as possible without anyone noticing and memorize the route.

The most important thing is to avoid revealing his unusual identity. As for the strange things in the village, he has plenty of time to investigate.

Walking slowly along the cobblestone path, Jiang Cheng noticed that the narrow dirt road was lined with sparsely planted trees, arranged haphazardly and of mixed species, as if they hadn't been planned and were simply a handful of mixed seeds scattered on the ground. The trees' overgrown canopies confirmed this. Looking down, however, it was the countless unnamed wildflowers, like stars scattered among the grass, that caught Jiang Cheng's attention.

It seems some of them are poisonous?

Jiang Cheng naturally kept this in mind, remembering that his own hidden arrows were also poisoned.

According to the wooden sign at the door, Jiang Cheng finally found his own home, or rather, his home in "Minglingye," after going around in circles for who knows how many times.

After repeatedly confirming that the handwriting on the wooden plaque in his hand was exactly the same as the one on the doorplate, he slowly pushed open the wooden fence that was as tall as a person.

Looking around, what comes into Jiangcheng's view is a small, square courtyard that is not very big. It is surrounded by earthen walls that are completely covered with mud, and even the original wooden fence has been completely covered up.

No wonder he couldn't see anything when he peeked out from the dirt road to look into the yard...

Upon entering the courtyard, Jiang Cheng noticed a strange and dilapidated red brick screen wall blocking his view, not only obstructing his view but also emitting a musty, stale odor. The screen wall's presence was extremely awkward, as if it were designed to force anyone entering through the main gate to leave immediately...

Jiang Cheng covered his nose helplessly, and as he turned around the wall, he was overwhelmed by a strong smell of decay, which made him feel quite groggy.

What is this...?

Just when he was filled with doubt and helplessness, a new world reappeared before him, which truly shocked Jiangcheng.

In stark contrast to the outer courtyard, which was cluttered with piles of garbage, the inner courtyard was traversed by a straight path paved with gravel. At the end of the path was a low brick and mud house. Although the windows were tiny, their angle was perfectly positioned to maximize the amount of sunlight entering the house. Therefore, from the front door, the rather cramped little house was not actually dark.
