Chapter 347 Lamb to the Slaughter

Jiang Cheng thought the maid in red was talking to him and was about to frown and ask when he suddenly saw two strangely dressed women walk out from behind the pillars, barefoot, and stand on either side of him, flanking him.

They first gave a somewhat strange bow to the maid in red, and then immediately turned to look at Jiang Cheng.

The two women's faces looked as if they had been pressed into a flour pan, frighteningly white. Jiang Cheng could tell at a glance that this wasn't their natural skin tone, but rather the result of heavy makeup. After all, there was still a slight amount of color at the junction of their necks and faces.

At least he looks like a human being.

Jiang Cheng stared at the two people beside him with a strange look, but did not make any move.

At the same time, he noticed that although the three women were dressed similarly, mainly in red and white, the red-clad maid who had led him up was clearly made of more exquisite fabric, with more intricate embroidery. Only she wore a strangely shaped wooden crown, while the other two, with their heads bowed, had their long hair simply held back with ordinary hairpins.

It seems that her status was much higher than that of the two maids who appeared later.

"Go, take him to wash up."

The wooden-crowned maid gave Jiang Cheng a disdainful once-over, then extended a powdered finger from beneath her wide sleeve and gestured towards the distance. Upon seeing her instruction, two hairpin maids quickly grabbed Jiang Cheng's arms, one on each side, and dragged him to the end of the corridor.

This sudden movement startled Jiang Cheng and nearly dragged him to the ground. He then realized that the two women beside him, though half a head shorter than him, possessed remarkably strong and muscular bodies hidden beneath their loose maidservant robes. He could tell from the force with which they gripped Jiang Cheng's armpits that these two maidservants were no ordinary women.

The Demu family became increasingly mysterious in Jiang Cheng's eyes.

What kind of family is this? Even two maids who appear casually are so skilled, let alone the assassins who have emerged from mountains of corpses and seas of blood...

Thinking about this, Jiang Cheng had a few thoughts running through his mind.

If even assassins like September are this powerful, then his ability to carve out a bloody path through them using so-called "unorthodox methods" is actually quite impressive.

Just as Jiang Cheng was in turmoil, Gu Qingwan's voice, tinged with amusement, surfaced in his mind: "Boss, you've always been amazing, don't underestimate yourself."

Gu Qingwan seemed to sense Jiang Cheng's anxiety, so she deliberately praised him in her mind, which did indeed soothe his emotions a little.

Jiang Cheng lowered his head slightly, a barely perceptible smile appearing on his lips.

Fortunately, in this dream world, Gu Qingwan will always be by his side. Even if she doesn't do anything substantial to help him, the emotional value that Gu Qingwan provides is something that ordinary people simply cannot give him.

After adjusting his pace, Jiang Cheng finally caught up with the two maids. He was no longer being dragged along by them, but instead, he had a clearer grasp of the initiative.

The two maids glanced at Jiang Cheng with some confusion, then at each other, but they didn't say a word. They simply supported Jiang Cheng in silence and continued into the palace.

After navigating the winding paths, Jiang Cheng had mentally sketched out a small map of the palace before him. Although he hadn't yet entered the main hall, he had already familiarized himself with the general layout of the outer corridors.

After memorizing the route, Jiang Cheng was led by two maids to the door of a somewhat damp and warm room. Along the way, all the rooms had similar wooden sliding doors, with a few translucent white decorations on the door and occasionally a few carp streamers hanging at the corners. This old-fashioned Japanese style dominated Jiang Cheng's vision.

After stopping, Jiang Cheng noticed a lot of misty steam seeping out from the cracks in the door. He also felt the temperature rise rapidly as he approached the room. Considering what the red-clad maid who had brought him up the mountain had said when they parted, he seemed to have a guess about what this place was for.

"call……"

Jiang Cheng lowered his head slightly and sighed, inwardly thinking: As expected of a big family, there are so many formalities when meeting.

He didn't ask any questions or resist; he simply followed the two maids quietly. After they opened two doors, Jiang Cheng entered a spacious bathroom.

A small bathtub stood quietly in the room. Two gray-clad maids stood solemnly with their hands folded in front of them, calmly watching the newcomer. Beside them was a square table about a meter in size, on which were arranged many toiletries. Besides soap and towels, there were many other items that Jiang Cheng did not recognize or know what they were used for.

He looked at the two maids with wooden hairpins who had brought him in with a puzzled expression, but received no response.

They simply walked forward on their own, bypassed a wooden screen placed at the entrance, and began preparing at the same time as the gray-clad maid.

At this moment, Jiang Cheng could only stand blankly at the door, like a fish on a chopping board waiting to be slaughtered.

After the four of them made some preparations, the two wooden hairpin maids returned to Jiang Cheng's side, grabbed his clothes from the left and right, and in one swift motion, pulled off most of his shirt, revealing his strong shoulders and chest.

"Hey!"

Jiang Cheng quickly realized what was happening and awkwardly tried to pull his clothes back up, but one of the maids with the wooden hairpin pulled out a short knife from her waist and, with a swift, swift motion, pressed it against Jiang Cheng's throat.

"Don't move."

She spat out the threat through gritted teeth, word by word.
