"The investigation is complete. That student surnamed Sun wasn't very tight-lipped; we managed to get him to talk after a few hours. He admitted that there was another planner after Qi Feng, but he didn't know the other person's name or age, only that he was a man."
"Hmm... you decide what to do. A barking dog doesn't bite, and I'm not in the mood to deal with these things."
"Okay, Jiang, please give me some time. I will get to the bottom of this matter and clear your name within a month at most."
In the coffee shop.
Jiang Cheng and You Lixuan sat facing each other.
He put down his cup and turned to look out the window.
"I only have a month left, and I'll be heading to Kyoto in a few days. Professor Zhong will take my paper back to explain it to everyone and select a suitable team to conduct the next phase of research."
"What does Jiang mean?"
“I might take Xiaoli with me. If she doesn’t want to go, I hope you can ensure her safety in Lanjing.”
You Lixuan was taken aback, then smiled.
You're overthinking it.
"What's the meaning?"
“Then I won’t use such formal language, Jiang Cheng. Don’t you realize your own importance yet? Ever since Elder Zhong boarded the plane back to Kyoto, the entire city of Lanjing has been under martial law. We may seem to be casually drinking coffee now, but the whole street is under close surveillance. There are special police protecting this coffee shop from all sides.” You Lixuan paused and continued.
"Including your parents and your sister. They are all in a completely safe situation and will not be in any danger. And the most obvious thing is that the person who tried to frame you never thought he would mess with someone like you before he carried out that plan. So the framing murderer has kicked a hornet's nest and is now thinking about how to protect himself."
Jiang Cheng paused, looking thoughtful.
He really hadn't considered what You Lixuan said.
“To be able to pull off this so skillfully, and to use tactics like manipulating public opinion, the murderer must have some powerful connections,” You Lixuan pushed up his glasses. “But Jiang Cheng, do you know who’s behind you?”
The two locked eyes.
No one spoke.
The answer, however, clearly emerged in my mind.
Behind Wuhan lies the nation!
After chatting for a while, just as he was about to get up and leave...
A pair of figures suddenly appeared in the coffee shop.
The woman was radiant, tall, and extremely beautiful; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call her a top-tier beauty.
The man was equally impressive, dressed in a sharp suit, with a devilishly handsome face and an aristocratic air about him.
When the woman walked over and saw him, she looked surprised.
"Jiangcheng, what are you doing here! What a coincidence."
He looked up and saw, "Zhao Xuerou?"
Lanjing is both very big and very small.
They hadn't seen each other for several days, and unexpectedly bumped into each other in a coffee shop.
"And who is this?" asked the young man with an air of nobility beside Zhao Xuerou politely.
Jiang Cheng looked up.
He glanced at the somewhat effeminate man.
The other person's smile was perfectly timed, and their demeanor was very elegant, giving people a very comfortable feeling.
His feminine temperament didn't detract from his appeal much; on the contrary, it enhanced it.
"This is my classmate from Lanzhou University of Science and Technology, a very outstanding student! His name is Jiang Cheng," Zhao Xuerou introduced excitedly.
“Hello, Zhao Wunian.” He extended his hand.
"Hello, hello," Jiang Cheng replied.
"You Lixuan".
A few polite words.
After saying that.
Zhao Xuerou suddenly moved closer to him.
"Jiang Cheng, this is my cousin. He came from Kyoto to discuss business in Lanjing. Please don't misunderstand," she explained cautiously.
"What misunderstanding did I have? What does this have to do with me?"
Zhao Xuerou pouted upon hearing this.
He has absolutely no sense of romance, what a clueless straight man!
I was trying to be helpful by explaining this to you.
"I've heard Xue Rou talk about Jiang's excellence; he's a young prodigy who will surely become a pillar of the nation in the future."
"You're too kind."
Although Jiang Cheng was taciturn, he never had any ill feelings towards polite people.
He didn't want to stay in the coffee shop for too long and was about to leave.
Suddenly, Zhao Xuerou grabbed his hand.
"Wait, don't go yet, I have something to tell you," she said, then turned to Zhao Wunian, "Brother, my classmate and I are going to talk to each other for a bit."
Then she pulled Jiang Cheng aside.
This left him completely confused.
She held his slender, delicate hand; her fair wrist was like a jade lotus root. Today, Zhao Xuerou was wearing a floral dress, and her hair was loose.
It poured down.
It has the feel of a beautiful young girl on campus.
It was completely different from her usual mature and glamorous style.
Jiang Cheng glanced at her casually a few times, thinking to himself that his original taste was not bad, even though the girl he liked wasn't particularly outstanding in terms of character.
But her looks and figure are still acceptable.
And so the two of them came to a secluded corner.
"What's the matter? Why do you have to come all the way here to say it? Can't you just say it to my face?"
"Shh!" Zhao Xuerou peeked out and secretly glanced at Zhao Wunian, who was talking to You Lixuan in the distance.
I turned around only after I was sure he wasn't paying attention to me.
"This is really important, Jiang Cheng, you have to help me!"
"ah?"
"My brother is in Lanjing to discuss business. He plans to hold a cocktail party tonight, which will be attended by prominent business figures and high-ranking political figures from Lanjing."
