Jiang Cheng was completely unaware that something was amiss.
He happily finished tidying up the house, wiped the grease off the table, and was about to stretch and go to sleep.
The feeling of being slightly tipsy was wonderful, making Jiang Cheng feel dizzy and lightheaded.
But when he finished wiping the table, he found Xiaoli still sitting in the chair without moving, her face so red it looked like it was about to bleed.
Even her earlobes turned pink.
"What's wrong, Xiao Li?" he asked curiously.
Xiao Li turned to Jiang Cheng and asked, "Brother, will you be sharing a room with me tonight?"
Jiang Cheng was stunned.
He was stunned.
I turned my head and looked at the tightly closed door.
My bedroom has been taken over by my parents.
I guess the parents have already turned off the lights and gone to bed.
Yes, my parents came so suddenly, without even giving me a heads-up, so I hadn't even thought about accommodation.
The rented apartment only has two bedrooms and a living room.
Where will I sleep?
Jiang Cheng thought for a moment, then shifted his gaze to the sofa. "You go back to your room to sleep. I'll just take a blanket and sleep on the sofa."
"Oh? But brother, I don't think I have any extra blankets in my room."
Xiao Li pursed her lips and said.
"There are no extra blankets... not even in my own room."
Since it's usually just the two of them living here, they hadn't considered the possibility of other people coming over, so they hadn't prepared any extra blankets or anything like that.
This situation has now become a disaster.
"It's fine without a blanket. I won't get cold sleeping in the middle of summer. I'll sleep with my clothes on."
"don't want!"
As soon as Jiang Cheng finished speaking, Xiao Li firmly refused.
Although Lanjing is not located in a particularly remote area, it is the type of place that is hot during the day and cool at night.
Sleeping on the sofa all night in your clothes without a blanket will definitely make you catch a cold.
"You'll catch a cold!"
"I'm a boy, it's okay!"
Xiao Li gave him a resentful look, "I would feel so selfish if I did that."
Jiang Cheng scratched his head. He seemed to sense the girl's sensitive thoughts. If he really caught a cold tomorrow, Xiao Li, such a kind girl, would probably feel guilty.
"Then I'll stay at a hotel."
"One room is not suitable!" Jiang Cheng said to Xiao Li.
It seems there's no other way, and this is the only option.
She lowered her eyes, and the light in them suddenly dimmed.
"All right."
The words had barely left his mouth.
Xiao Li had just stood up when the wind suddenly picked up outside!
The mournful "woofing" sound was incessant, like weeping and lamenting...
She looked out the window in fear.
And just like that, a "whooshing" sound of wind appeared outside the window.
He looked down at Xiao Li, who looked like a frightened rabbit in his arms.
"Brother, could you stay with me for a bit? I'm scared..."
"Oh well."
Seeing the girl trembling with fear in his arms, his heart softened.
"I'm going back to my room to rest now."
Xiao Li said something and then hurriedly ran into the room, looking somewhat panicked.
"Wait until I change my clothes before you come in!" her voice came.
"Okay, I understand."
Jiang Cheng put down the rag in his hand. Actually, he was also very sleepy, and the feeling of being slightly tipsy did help him sleep.
When he entered the room, Xiao Li had already changed into that slip dress and was sitting on the bed with her head down, covered by a space blanket.
Her room was decorated in pink, giving it a princess-like feel. The small, exquisite bed could barely fit two people, and since there were no blankets, it was unlikely that Jiang Cheng could sleep on the floor.
There were some cute plush toys on the bed... including Winnie the Pooh, scattered around.
Xiao Li appeared to be fiddling with her phone, but her mind was not on it at all. She bit her moist lips, her heart pounding wildly.
This was the first time Jiang Cheng had ever shared a room with a girl since he could remember, and even had to sleep in the same bed.
He couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed.
This was also Xiao Li's first time.
"Then, shall we go to sleep?"
Jiang Cheng walked to the triangular cabinet and asked about it.
"good."
Xiao Li's voice was as soft as a mosquito's buzz, and a blush crept onto her face.
With a "snap," the lights in the room went out.
The room was plunged into darkness. Jiang Cheng took off his shirt, revealing his fairly well-proportioned chest, and casually draped his T-shirt to the side.
He kicked off his slippers and lay down on the other side.
He checked the time on his phone.
11:01 PM.
It's very late.
He turned off his phone and put it aside. His eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness as he looked at the ceiling.
My overwhelming drowsiness vanished in an instant.
Noticing a girl lying next to him and being able to feel her breathing made Jiang Cheng feel uneasy.
The more he forced himself not to think about the girl beside him, the more his mind was filled with this.
Xiao Li's heart was pounding.
She seemed to be overwhelmed by the immense happiness; this scene, which she had only ever dreamed of, had now actually happened in reality.
She had fantasized countless times about sharing a bed with her brother.
Unexpectedly, this actually happened, although it was an accident.
They were all great helpers from Jiang's parents.
Xiao Li has always liked her brother, and she has never denied it.
She tossed and turned, her heart pounding, and naturally, she couldn't fall asleep.
The two of them just stared at each other, and the atmosphere in the room became very awkward.
