Chapter 69 Redemption (Part 1)

"Xiao Jiang, there's a letter for you."

"ah?"

As Jiang Cheng passed by the security guard's room, the gatekeeper stopped him.

He took the letter with a bewildered look and opened it.

He was somewhat surprised that people would still communicate with others by writing letters in this day and age.

On the white letter paper, it was written in crooked Chinese characters.

"Dear Master Jiang, I wonder if you still remember me, Hikawa Tsuna, a Japanese man I met once before. It has been several months since we parted ways in Lanjing, but your performance is still unforgettable, its lingering sound still resonating in my ears. I have an appointment to perform here recently, and I wonder if it would be possible to discuss some musical matters with you, so that we can forget the unpleasant past? Thank you."

The letter was written with utmost respect, and an address was included at the bottom.

This shows Brother Gangban's sincerity.

It must have been difficult for him to write such a long string in unfamiliar language, Jiang Cheng thought to himself, before casually tossing it into the trash can.

······

In the classroom.

It was a strange scene.

The astute students exchanged glances, sharing gossip.

This is a classroom in the Department of Biotechnology.

In the back row of the classroom sat Jiang Cheng, his face languid. Beside him was a beautiful young girl, glaring at him with gritted teeth.

Jiang Cheng's gaze never left Ke Bing in front of him, staring blankly at her beautiful hair.

She looked at him, and he looked at her.

So she got angry.

Zhao Xuerou finally couldn't contain the anger that had been building up inside her for so long. She reached out her slender hands and, quite offensively, cupped Jiang Cheng's cheeks, demanding, "What's so interesting about her? Is she that attractive to you? Huh?"

Her face puffed up with anger, like a cat with its fur standing on end. Her heaving chest indicated that she was not at peace, but no matter how much it heaved, it couldn't compare to the surging emotions on some other people's chests.

Jiang Cheng irritably pushed Zhao Xuerou's hand away, "If you're sick, go get treatment. It's none of your business who I look at."

"You're bullying me! I've been sending you good morning and good night messages for months and you've never replied! I'm always sticking to you like a puppy, following you around! Is it so hard for me to get your attention a little more...?"

Tears welled up in Zhao Xuerou's eyes, and her voice trembled with emotion as she spoke, perhaps because she was genuinely saddened.

In public.

Dozens of students from the biotechnology department were watching, but she couldn't care less about their stares; the unfair treatment was driving her crazy.

If Jiang Cheng treated all girls equally, that would be one thing, and Zhao Xuerou herself could accept being endlessly neglected.

But he paid so much attention to Ke Bing, and there was even a hint of something ambiguous between them.

Young girls have a strong competitive mentality, how could she tolerate that?

"She's only been here a few days! And you already like her? You take her with you when you bring sports equipment, you have to say goodbye after school, and you even stare at her during class! What makes you think you're so great, Jiang Cheng!" Zhao Xuerou's tears fell like beads from a broken string, dripping onto her skirt.

The students watching nearby clicked their tongues in amazement.

Even Ke Bing turned around, looking on in surprise to see what had happened.

Some of Zhao Xuerou's devoted admirers were even more heartbroken than Zhao Xuerou herself, and simply turned their heads away and refused to look.

They are the ones who feel it's the most unfair. Their goddess, who is high and mighty, is chasing after a guy and practically begging for his attention. Is there any fairness in that? Is there any reason to argue about it?

Jiang Cheng had known Zhao Xuerou for several years, but this was the first time he had seen her cry like this, and he was quite taken aback.

He retreated as if avoiding a plague, keeping a safe distance.

If you didn't know better, you'd think it was some kind of story about a cheating boyfriend being confronted in public by his school beauty girlfriend.

When she saw that Jiang Cheng didn't come to comfort her, but instead hid eight feet away and buried his face in the table, she cried even harder.

"We can't stay in this classroom anymore, let's go to the toilet." Jiang Cheng hurriedly stood up, grabbed Liang Gu and the others, and ran out in a panic.

He couldn't stand seeing girls cry, because...

Ke Bing sat in her seat, holding a pen in one hand, propping it against her fair chin, watching the receding figure in the Jiangcheng corridor, and suddenly found it very interesting.

"What kind of world is this? Damn it!"

One of the boys cursed under his breath.

Ke Bing suddenly turned around and looked at the boy with long bangs who she had never noticed in the classroom before.

She suddenly felt that the voice was very familiar.

"That's right, it's the sound I heard from the window that day, there's no mistake! The sound is even somewhat similar to the one in Jiangcheng."

She instantly understood that the guy who said he wanted to win her over wasn't actually Jiang Cheng at all... It was all a misunderstanding.

In the toilet.

"Third brother, what's your story with that transfer student? It's really interesting."

"What?"

"You like this one? It has an S-curve, doesn't it? A pear-shaped figure! You have good taste, third brother."

Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes at Liang Gu. "You're overthinking it."

"Don't explain, explaining is just covering up!"

Jiang Cheng pulled up his pants and used his free hand to reply to a message. The message was sent by You Lixuan, who was preparing to monitor the situation.

"The cameras have been set up. Ke Youfang went to a piano recital this morning. Their suburban villa is in a fairly spacious location. I had people search for a long time before we finally found a tree branch that could barely be seen through the window into the living room."

"Hmm... be more careful."

After receiving You Lixuan's message, Jiang Cheng breathed a long sigh of relief.
