Chapter 71 Redemption (Part 3)

"Why are you here!" Ke Bing covered her lips, her eyes filled with surprise.

Jiang Cheng whispered through the window, "Never mind that for now, just open the window for me."

He lay on the platform, with the jammed surveillance camera overhead, so it wouldn't capture his image for a short time.

But Jiangcheng was really in a hurry.

If we don't go inside the villa soon, Ke Youfang might notice something's wrong.

Ke Bing watched as he gestured wildly, but couldn't understand what he was saying.

It's like the mute button has been pressed.

After a moment, she suddenly realized and opened the window.

Jiang Cheng grabbed the edge of the windowsill, and with a slight push of his elbow, plunged headfirst into Ke Bing's bedroom under her watchful gaze.

She was so shocked that she couldn't speak for a long time, her face filled with disbelief, her mind completely blank.

"What do you want? How do you know my address?"

Jiang Cheng dusted himself off and looked around her room. "Never mind that for now. Are you alright? Did he hit you?"

Ke Bing was taken aback again.

Even Jiangcheng knows about this?

In the girl's mind, he was her classmate, an ordinary college student at Lanjing Science and Technology College, someone who could not compete with her adoptive father.

"No······"

"Where is Ke Youfang's bedroom?"

"Second floor, wait a minute, you still haven't told me what you're going to do."

Ke Bing stopped him from opening the bedroom door and leaving, a hint of confusion appearing on her pretty face.

“How can I put it,” he scratched his head, “I know everything that’s happened to you. I saw the scars on your back in the equipment room last time. Your father is no good. If possible, I want to help someone who’s stuck in this quagmire.”

The person in this mud pit is the girl in front of us.

Jiang Cheng didn't mention that it was because of a mission. He needed to eliminate Ke Youfang to obtain the basic materials for controlled nuclear fusion. Such a matter was at the national level of China, and there was no need for a young girl like Ke Bing to know about it.

It can't be said that it was just for basic materials; after all, he genuinely wanted to help Ke Bing after witnessing the perversion of her adoptive father.

The mission's objective is clear: to save the girl.

Unexpected.

Ke Bing didn't show much joy on her face; instead, her eyes darkened and she lowered her head.

"I appreciate your kindness, Jiangcheng, please return the way you came."

"Why?" he asked, bewildered.

Ke Bing was silent for a while, then sat down at her desk and said with a forlorn expression, "You have no idea how terrifying my adoptive father is. He is a prominent figure with countless assets and excellent connections in both political and business circles. He is also very ruthless. Perhaps the cameras caught you coming in just now, and he may already be on his way back."

In her eyes, Ke Youfang was a high mountain blocking her way, something she could only look up at. Sometimes, the rubble rolling down from the mountain was enough to crush an ordinary person to death.

Let alone raising the entire mountain off the ground.

That's not possible.

"If I leave now, won't your adoptive father still beat you when he comes back?"

"It's okay... You'll get used to it and it won't hurt so much."

After she finished speaking, the two looked at each other and remained silent for a long time.

Jiang Cheng never expected that the girl, who had been living in a hellish environment with endless numb and painful days, would now be considerate of others and not want to get involved herself.

"Thank you, I'm already very happy that someone is trying to help me."

She pursed her lips, then smiled radiantly.

After her biological parents passed away, she lived in this world unarmed. No one could stand behind her to shield her from the raging wind, and no one could stand in front of her to block out the vast light.

A girl without support is like a lone boat on a vast, boundless ocean, easily capsized and plunged into the abyss, becoming a decaying, withered tree.

She could see no light in the pitch-black night, only an endless, suffocating atmosphere that seemed to engulf her.

After transferring to Lanjing, she had a very happy life and was already very content.

With friends to talk to and a vibrant campus life, she could freely spend her days, at least from the moment she stepped out of her door in the morning.

Returning to the darkness gives us a reason to yearn for the light.

I was actually quite happy to be with Jiangcheng. The movie I watched today was also very good. The gentle breeze blowing across the benches by the Changhuan River was soft, and the dappled shadows of the trees and the pedestrians on the street were peaceful and heartwarming.

Everything is fine.

“You underestimate me.” Jiang Cheng waved his hand, pressed his ear and said into the headset, “There are also cameras inside the villa. I’m in a safe position now. Can the interference range disable the cameras inside as well?”

"Can."

In a conference room of Lanjing's senior management.

The atmosphere was tense and serious.

You Lixuan adjusted his glasses and asked the professional next to him, "Is it possible?"

"no problem."

Inside the villa, Jiang Cheng had no time to linger. He opened the door and went straight into the living room, then took the escalator up to the second floor.

He had something in his phone pocket—a listening device.

Ke Bing stood at the door frame of the room, watching Jiang Cheng's resolute back, lost in thought.

He followed the escalator into the corridor and arrived at Ke Youfang's study. The spacious room was very well-lit.

He went to the table and took out something the size of a fingernail...
