Chapter 10 Bai Yueyue's Living Standards

"Yueyue, let's meet. I have something to ask you." Looking at the message Zhang Yuyao sent on her phone, Bai Yueyue felt terrible. So much had happened today that she had even forgotten about Zhang Yuyao watching her turn into a silver-haired witch.

"Mei'er, I'm going to see a classmate." Bai Yueyue said, reaching for her wardrobe to change her clothes. "Tell Mother I'll be back tonight."

After all, I'll be flying there, so it'll be quick.

“No, Miss,” Hu Meier stopped Bai Yueyue’s hand. “First of all, please don’t take over Meier’s job. I’m in charge of Miss’s changing, choosing clothes and dressing up. Also, Miss should be mindful of her status.”

"There shouldn't be any problem with my identity, right?" Seeing Hu Meier's resolute refusal to let her open the wardrobe, Bai Yueyue had no choice but to awkwardly withdraw her hand.

“Young Miss, given your status, if someone of lower status wishes to see you, they must contact you in advance. I will then decide on a meeting time at least two days from now, based on your schedule.”

"Is this the case in Beijing as a whole?"

"Yes, in the capital, all the noble families with a bit of power do this."

Hu Meier calmly said something that almost broke Bai Yueyue's heart: "Wow, they're such a hassle!"

"What if it's something extremely urgent?" Bai Yueyue asked. Surely something really urgent can't be delayed for so long, right?

“If the young lady were already married, she would naturally be able to make her own decision. But since the young lady is not yet married, her guardians, namely the master and madam, should make the decision for her.”

Oh no, that's it. Bai Yueyue definitely doesn't want to tell Li Jieyue that someone knows her secret of being a man turned woman. She'd be the first to suffer, and then Zhang Yuyao would face Li Jieyue's soul test.

What should I do? Should I sneak out?

"Please don't think about running away, Miss. It would be very unseemly, and Madam and Lady Zhao Shuli would be very angry if they found out. Moreover, after what happened with Madam, all the families in the capital have become even stricter in their supervision of unmarried women going out. If you really run away, I will be very troubled, because after that, I will have to stay by your side 24 hours a day until a new personal attendant arrives. Ah, Miss, don't worry about my health. Madam should arrange a new personal attendant for you within 24 hours."

Oh no, that's terrifying! Absolutely not! I'd go crazy if I did that.

Bai Yueyue broke out in a cold sweat upon hearing Hu Meier's words. If she were really being watched 24 hours a day, Bai Yueyue felt that she wouldn't be able to sleep.

So Bai Yueyue suggested to Zhang Yuyao that they meet at their usual milk tea shop two days later.

Well, the location wasn't told to Hu Meier, because Bai Yueyue knew that if Hu Meier knew she was going to the milk tea shop to meet someone, she definitely wouldn't accept it.

Even though Hu Meier will definitely go with us, I don't care! I'll act first and ask questions later!

From then until dinner, Bai Yueyue played on her phone in her room. If Bai Yueyue didn't talk to Hu Meier, Hu Meier would just stay quietly in a corner.

Of course, sometimes Hu Meier would remind Bai Yueyue of the details of life that she was not yet familiar with. For example, when Bai Yueyue subconsciously went to open the door because she wanted to go to the toilet, Hu Meier would stop her and open the door herself.

Of course, after Bai Yueyue went out, Hu Meier would prepare everything for her, from tissues to hand sanitizer.

Even when Bai Yueyue simply mentioned that she was a little hungry, Hu Meier had afternoon tea and snacks prepared.

"Wow, it's so sweet!" Bai Yueyue exclaimed happily after taking a small bite of the strawberry-flavored cake.

"The young lady really likes sweets."

"Yes! Oh no!" Realizing she had misspoke, Bai Yueyue immediately covered her mouth with her hand, then looked at Hu Meier pitifully with her ruby-like eyes, "Can you forget what I just said? Don't take away my little cake!"

Oh! What should I do? This young lady is so cute! She looks like a kitten. I really want to tease her. No, no, Hu Meier, this is the young lady. How can you have such disrespectful thoughts?

"Of course not. I am the young lady's personal attendant, so naturally I know her preferences. Besides, the young lady only needs to hide her preferences from outsiders; she doesn't need to at home."

Hu Meier explained that the reason she took away Bai Yueyue's fish was because Li Jieyue had given Bai Yueyue permission to "educate" her.

When no one else is around, Bai Yueyue can choose what she likes to eat, and her personal nutritionist and chef will create a meal plan for her.

"It's so delicious!" Bai Yueyue was a little reluctant to finish the last bite. "Can I have another serving?"

"Miss, your nutritionist only prepared one meal for you today." Looking at Bai Yueyue's expression, Hu Meier almost forced herself to tell Bai Yueyue, suppressing her guilt. She had disappointed the young lady; sob sob, it hurt so much.

"Do I still have a nutritionist?" Bai Yueyue blinked, her attention clearly drawn to this somewhat unfamiliar term rather than the small cake.

"Yes, preparations were already underway at the manor before the young lady arrived. He would design a special menu for her based on her preferences, schedule, and the food she had consumed in the past week. However, for her safety, the menu would only be reviewed and approved by multiple people before the person in charge of purchasing ingredients and preparing the food would know about it on the day of the meal and complete the process under the supervision and recording of multiple people."
