“That’s not a reason,” Bai Yueyue said calmly. Simply giving her questions she had already thought of wouldn’t convince her at all.
"How could that be, Miss Bai? You can't be indifferent to the children!" Jiang Shu immediately spoke up after hearing Bai Yueyue's denial. In her opinion, Bai Yueyue didn't care about the children in the orphanage and just wanted to find someone to appease them.
"Shut up!" Hu Meier snapped. "How dare you slander the young lady? Do you know how much extra work she's had because of you all?"
"It's alright, Mei'er." Bai Yueyue stopped Hu Mei'er from speaking further, because if Hu Mei'er really took it seriously, Jiang Shu's disrespectful behavior towards her could implicate the entire orphanage.
Jiang Shu was also startled by Hu Meier, but she still stubbornly looked at Bai Yueyue.
“I’ve already thought of this reason you gave. If a high school student like you can do this, do you think I can’t find a better full-time teacher in the entire city of Asia? Or do you think you’re the best teacher in Asia?” Bai Yueyue said.
Given Bai Yueyue's status, finding a full-time teacher for the orphanage would be incredibly easy; she could simply give the person more money or have them curry favor with her by giving her benefits in return.
“But… the children in the orphanage are a mixed bunch…” Jiang Shu’s voice grew weaker and weaker. It was the first time she had faced someone like Bai Yueyue, and she didn’t know how much power she had.
“This reason isn’t a problem. I will arrange for multiple teachers to teach, build multiple classrooms, and hire someone to arrange the courses,” Bai Yueyue said, shaking her head.
If there are too few classrooms and too many students, then classes will be held in shifts, with some students in the classroom and others outside. We need to hire more teachers, each responsible for a specific group of students. Then we can expand the classrooms.
There's no need to tell Jiang Shu these things; they're not something she should worry about.
"Any other reasons?" Bai Yueyue looked at Jiang Shu. After all, she was just a high school sophomore, and facing the pressure from superiors like Bai Yueyue and Hu Meier, she certainly couldn't think calmly. Of course, even without Bai Yueyue and the others, Jiang Shu wouldn't have considered anything more; her perspective was limited.
Jiang Shu only needs to focus on her studies, while Bai Yueyue has many more things to consider.
Seeing Jiang Shu remain silent, looking as if she wanted to say something but hesitated, Bai Yueyue continued to comfort her, "I know you're worried about the children. Now that I've become their person in charge, I'll care about them, and that includes you. You went to school with money borrowed from various places by Dean Jiang, right?"
"Hmm..." Jiang Shu nodded gently.
"So you are Dean Jiang's greatest achievement, and the children expect you to be their role model. If you delay your studies because of this, how sad they will be."
Bai Yueyue's words made Jiang Shu lower her head. It was clear that Dean Jiang had made a great sacrifice to ensure that Jiang could focus on her studies.
So Bai Yueyue stood up, and under Hu Meier's headache-ridden expression ("The young lady is going to disregard her status again"), she came to Jiang Shu and cupped her face in her hands.
Their eyes met, and Jiang Shu's face flushed red with shyness, unable to look directly at her. Bai Yueyue, however, wouldn't let her go, looking at her tenderly with her red eyes and saying, "Be good, trust me, I can definitely take good care of you. You just need to focus on your studies, leave the rest to me, I can absolutely do it. Even Dean Jiang can trust me, so why can't you?"
To convince Jiang Shu, Bai Yueyue even used a little bit of hypnotic magic. Of course, it wasn't very strong and wouldn't cause any harm to the body, but it was extremely effective for a shy person like Jiang Shu.
At this moment, in Jiang Shu's eyes, Bai Yueyue was as gentle, strong, and reliable as a saint.
"Hmm..." Jiang Shu nodded gently. Such a pure and holy person, her words must be trustworthy, Jiang Shu thought to herself.
After Jiang Shu left, Hu Meier looked at Bai Yueyue with a resentful expression.
"Oh dear, is Mei'er throwing a tantrum?" Bai Yueyue said with a light laugh as she sat down in a chair.
"How could that be? It's just that you are a noblewoman, Miss, and you shouldn't be so close to and dote on these commoners." Hu Meier said respectfully, but what she really wanted to do was something disrespectful, like rubbing Bai Yueyue's head and touching her face.
"Hehe, it's okay, Mei'er. I only did this because Jiang Shu is such a cute and good girl." Bai Yueyue smiled, finding Hu Mei'er and Jiang Shu both adorable, much more comfortable than facing people like the two Qin Ye's who would give her a headache. "Let them in."
As Bai Yueyue spoke, the boy who had been there earlier reluctantly walked in, his eyes filled with disgust and wariness as he looked at her.
This is outrageous! We're only two years apart in age, so why is he so hostile towards me? Bai Yueyue was starting to wonder if there was something about her that made boys dislike her. After all, the two Qin brothers inexplicably disliked her just because she resembled Qin Yusa.
Hu Meier behind her was furious. She already felt that Bai Yueyue was too biased towards the children in the orphanage, and now the two of them still had this attitude.
"Young lady, please allow me to teach them manners."
"No need," Bai Yueyue stopped her. Given Hu Meier's current mindset, it was more like a lesson than a teaching.
"Yes, ma'am." Although she really wanted to do it, since Bai Yueyue had already spoken, Hu Meier could only wait in place.
How should she bring it up? Bai Yueyue pondered. If possible, she didn't want to have any contact with them.
"Hey! Why did you call us over and then leave us standing here like idiots?" Seeing that there were no servants around, the two rushed forward, intending to attack Bai Yueyue.
