At night, Qin Ye sat at his desk in his room, fuming. An hour earlier, his personal attendants had been completely replaced by Qin Limin, and he had only just temporarily dismissed them from his room.
But just as Qin Ye was resenting that this was Bai Yueyue's idea, the door was opened.
"What are you doing? Who allowed you to come in!" Qin Ye roared without even looking up.
The door was gently closed, and a man came up to Qin Ye and handed her a letter.
"Second Young Master, this is a letter from Lord Shaojun to you," the man said.
Young Master? Although Qin Ye had never met Young Master, he knew that the other party was a leading figure among the younger generation in the capital and even the world. But why would such a person come to find him?
Qin Ye looked at the attendant, who gave a gentle, faint smile. Qin Ye remembered him; he was a rather inconspicuous personal attendant of Qin Limin, now sent to monitor him as a personal attendant.
After checking, Qin Ye confirmed that there were no signs of it being opened, so it shouldn't have been viewed by anyone else. Although he was a little puzzled as to how this person had managed to contact Shao Jun without everyone's knowledge, Qin Ye was determined to check it since it was Shao Jun's letter.
"Young Master told me that the Second Young Master is the most outstanding one, and the master I should serve most. So please allow me to serve the Second Young Master," the other person whispered in Qin Ye's ear...
Bai Yueyue finally had some satisfactory news. Looking at the report Chen Ling had sent her, Bai Yueyue ate the late-night snack that Hu Meier had prepared and breathed a sigh of relief about the factory's situation.
"Young Miss! I already told you, you can't eat while reading books and materials!" After giving instructions to the other servants at the door, Hu Meier turned around and saw Bai Yueyue's rude behavior. She stepped forward and confiscated the pastries from Bai Yueyue's hands.
"Huh?" Bai Yueyue put down the documents in her hand and looked at Hu Meier, saying, "I know, Meier, I'm not looking anymore. Please give me back the pastries. That strawberry-flavored dessert was really delicious, you can try it too!"
Actually, it was because she had already roughly read through Chen Ling's report.
Seeing Bai Yueyue reveal her preferences so naturally, Hu Meier didn't know whether to laugh or feel helpless.
She knew this behavior stemmed from Bai Yueyue's complete trust in her, but it was unacceptable for a noble family. However, that was precisely what made her young lady so endearing.
“Yes, Miss,” Hu Meier placed the pastries back on Bai Yueyue’s afternoon tea table, then took the documents from Bai Yueyue’s hands as she sat at the desk. “Your food can only be given to me after you have finished eating. Also, Miss, you are no longer allowed to secretly bring the pastries to your desk!”
"I know," but she still wouldn't change it next time, because it's more convenient this way. With Hu Meier's help, Bai Yueyue sat down at the afternoon tea table and tasted it again. "Mmm, it's really delicious!"
"I will tell the young lady's chef to continue to bring her more delicious pastries for her to enjoy."
"Haha, then I'll leave it to you guys." After finishing the last bite of the pastry in her hand, there was still quite a bit left on the plate, because she had eaten enough sweets today. Bai Yueyue could use magic to directly control her weight, but her inner unease made her not want to see any heart-stopping changes on the body fat scale.
“It’s really delicious. I’m not eating any more. You can take it and enjoy it with Ruby Lin and Cui Ye later.”
“Thank you for your kindness, Miss,” Hu Meier said, bowing. “I will inform them that this is a gift from Miss.”
"Then help me bathe and wash up, and then tell Chen Ling that I will arrive at nine o'clock tomorrow." Bai Yueyue also felt that she was becoming more and more lazy and more used to Hu Meier's service.
Oh no, I can't let myself go astray!
It took Bai Yueyue an hour to finish all her bedtime preparations. Hu Meier bid farewell to Bai Yueyue, who was lying in bed, saying, "Goodnight, Miss, have a wonderful night."
"good evening."
The lights went out, and Bai Yueyue quickly closed her tired eyes, her breathing becoming steady.
After waiting for half an hour at the door, Hu Meier confirmed that Bai Yueyue was asleep before bowing to Bai Yueyue's room door again. Then she took the food that Bai Yueyue had given her to the servants' dining room.
"Cui Ye, please make arrangements with Chen Ling as soon as possible for tomorrow. You are aware of what happened today, and I don't want a similar situation to happen again tomorrow and affect Miss's mood," Hu Meier said, looking at the schedule in her hand.
"Yes, ma'am. I will certainly reduce the burden on you, young lady."
"Hmm." Nodding in satisfaction, Hu Meier looked at the uncomfortable Lin Xinyi and said, "Xinyi, although your situation is special, you must complete your studies as soon as possible. The young lady has many tasks now, and as her personal attendant, you should share her burdens as soon as possible."
"Yes, madam Zhao Shuli has already informed me that I will be able to serve Miss in another week." Lin Xinyi looked at Cui Ye. She knew that Cui Ye would not have any ill intentions towards her, but the thought of working with him made her restless.
Hu Meier also noticed something, but unfortunately she wasn't Bai Yueyue and wouldn't be as tolerant of Lin Xinyi: "Lin Xinyi, the young lady has already shown you enough kindness. As her personal attendant, you shouldn't cause her any trouble because of your personal situation. If you continue like this, you'll only add unnecessary tasks for her. Please overcome your difficulties as soon as possible."
"I'll do it as soon as possible." Lin Xinyi nodded, mustering her courage to look at Cui Ye. "Please help me practice more!"
Cui Ye paused for a moment, then nodded: "I'm happy to help."
