Chapter 38 Do I Look Fierce?

“Miss Bai, you’ve finally arrived.” Dean Jiang stepped forward. This time, he didn’t extend his hand, but waited for Bai Yueyue to extend her hand before shaking her four fingers.

"Hehe, sorry to bother you." It's a classic polite remark, after all, the two of them had already met and discussed it yesterday.

"If you know you're causing trouble, then don't come."

My damn hearing is terrible; the sound was so faint, it was clearly those two boys whispering. But Bai Yueyue's hearing is exceptionally good; these whispers were indistinguishable from voices right next to her ear.

Not only Bai Yueyue, but all the servants behind her heard it too. Hearing their master's words is a basic skill; there's no difference between whispering and speaking loudly in public.

Then, Hu Meier immediately ordered her men to grab the two men and throw them in front of Bai Yueyue, making them kneel down.

This action startled not only Dean Jiang, but also all the children behind him. Jiang Shu was also startled, but she still instinctively stood in front of the children.

How annoying! Why do I always run into people and things like this?

Looking at the two kneeling on the ground, clearly unwilling to accept their fate, Bai Yueyue really didn't want to punish anyone else anymore.

However, in this situation, Bai Yueyue's attendants would also allow her to establish her authority. Looking at the two of them, Bai Yueyue withdrew her gaze, and like Li Jieyue, she swept her eyes with the sharp look unique to a superior, before speaking calmly: "Until you reach adulthood, neither of you may leave the orphanage without my order."

This was the best solution Bai Yueyue could think of immediately, since she didn't want to handle this situation the way it was done in that village. Besides, she had come today with the intention of getting them to stop working and return to school, so she took this opportunity to bring it up directly.

Bai Yueyue then stopped paying attention to them and said to Dean Jiang, "Let's go to your office first."

As for the two boys, Hu Meier didn't even need to say anything; the other servants would find a way to get them to express their gratitude to Bai Yueyue.

Resist? Could these two little brats possibly resist Bai Yueyue's guards and attendants? In their eyes, it was as easy as a cat toying with a mouse.

"Thank you for your kindness, Miss Bai." Under the orders of the servants, the two boys had no choice but to kneel and thank Bai Yueyue as she left.

It's exhausting. Bai Yueyue doesn't want to deal with this kind of mess anymore. She's been so busy lately that her head is about to explode. She just started to feel a bit better after coming to the orphanage, and she really doesn't want to let it all get ruined like this.

Because of this sudden incident, the children who had previously been happily welcoming Bai Yueyue now looked at her with fear, and even Ye Xinya hid behind Jiang Shu.

"It's really sad," Bai Yueyue thought to herself as she glanced around.

A week ago, Bai Yueyue would have had the patience to handle this matter properly, but these two just happened to run into her bad luck.

Bai Yueyue was already extremely busy lately, but she still managed to squeeze out time to inspect and consider their future. Not only did these two not appreciate it, they even complained that she was a nuisance.

However, Bai Yueyue also discovered that because of what had happened in the past few days, she had gradually become more skilled and calm in handling such matters, and even the aura of authority she had inherited from Li Jieyue had begun to emerge.

I'm really unlikeable...

Upon arriving at the office, after a quick cleaning by the servants, Bai Yueyue was helped to sit in the central armchair by Hu Meier.

It wasn't here when I came before, looks like it was prepared for me. Bai Yueyue thought to herself, feeling the chair, which was far inferior to the one in her room, but she didn't mind, after all, the chairs at school were even more uncomfortable than this.

Jiang Shu kept her head down and dared not look at Bai Yueyue.

"I've scared the little girl," Bai Yueyue thought to herself as she looked at Jiang Shu.

"Mei'er, let everyone else leave. You and Jiang Shu can stay." Looking at the children behind Jiang Shu with their heads down, not daring to look at her, Dean Jiang who seemed to want to say something but hesitated, and the two boys who were not convinced and showed disgust.

Looking back at the servants who were treating her like trash, Bai Yueyue could understand the pressure Jiang Shu was under. Bai Yueyue was used to it, but she still felt a bit overwhelmed, let alone Jiang Shu, who had never experienced anything like it and had always been in orphanages and schools.

"Yes, Miss."

Because she had to leave her personal attendants, Hu Meier couldn't leave. Soon, under Hu Meier's command and the attendants' urging, only Bai Yueyue, Hu Meier, and Jiang Shu remained in the office.

"Mei'er, get her a chair too," Bai Yueyue said.

"yes."

Soon, Hu Meier returned to Bai Yueyue's side after placing the chairs.

Even though Jiang Shu saw that Hu Meier had already placed a chair behind her, she didn't dare to sit down.

"Sit down." Bai Yueyue tried to keep her voice as gentle as possible. Jiang Shu's personality was different from the two boys'; being too harsh would only frighten her.

Bai Yueyue imbued her voice with a touch of magic, which caused the tense and fearful Jiang Shu to uncontrollably sit down in the chair.

"Has Dean Jiang introduced me to you?" Bai Yueyue asked.

"Yes, Grandpa told me that Miss Bai is a good person and an extremely noble person." Jiang Shu was still very scared, but because Dean Jiang had reminded her not to offend Bai Yueyue, she held back her tears and replied in a trembling voice.

Huh, why did you all think I was scary when you first met me? Dean Jiang and the children thought so, Jiang Shu thought so, and even Hu Meier thought so the first time.

Am I that scary? Bai Yueyue wondered if she looked too fierce, but she dismissed the thought without needing to think further.
