Chapter 13 Mo Baobao, do you like me?

Chapter 13 Mo Baobao, do you like me?

In the dead of night, Mo Chi, a light sleeper, was awakened by the sound of knocking on the door next door.

He sat up and seemed to hear Chu Rou's cries for help. Mo Chi rushed over and tried to open Chu Rou's door, only to find it locked from the inside.

"Chu Rou, unlock the door!"

Hearing Mo Chi's voice, Chu Rou's fear subsided somewhat. She had forgotten that she had locked the door, which explained why she couldn't open it.

She opened the door and saw Mo Chi hanging directly on his body. "Mo Chi, a female ghost called me."

She pointed to the phone she had thrown on the bed.

"A female ghost? You've been watching too many horror movies!"

Mo Chi supported Chu Rou, who was clinging to him, with one hand, walked into her bedroom, picked up the phone on the bed, and the other party was still on the phone.

"Hello, who are you looking for?" Mo Chi asked, holding the phone to his ear.

After a moment of silence, a sweet, coquettish voice came from the other end, "I'm looking for Chu Rou. I'm her friend."

Mo Chi held the phone to Chu Rou's ear, "She said she's your friend."

Friend? Chu Rou thought to herself that she didn't have many friends, but she still asked into the phone, "Who are you?"

"Rou Rou, it's me, Yin Yin."

Chu Rou's face darkened. "Why are you still calling me? I don't want to hear your voice. I'm hanging up!"

"Wait, Rou Rou, He Weita committed suicide!"

He Yin's words struck Chu Rou like a thunderbolt, leaving her stunned and bewildered. "What did you say?"

“He Weita committed suicide,” He Yin said, her voice trembling with tears.

"He...is dead?" Chu Rou asked, her voice trembling.

"No, he's still being treated. We're at Ho Kuang Hospital."

After hanging up the phone, Mo Chi asked in a deep voice, "How long are you going to let me hold you?"

Chu Rou then realized that she was still hugging Mo Chi's neck and her legs were wrapped around his waist, a posture that was too ambiguous.

She got off Mo Chi and awkwardly smoothed out his pajamas. "I'm sorry, I was so scared."

"Who's going to die?" Mo Chi suddenly asked.

Chu Rou lowered her head, her voice muffled, "My ex-boyfriend, he committed suicide."

Mo Chi frowned. Did He Wei really want to die, or was he playing tricks to win Chu Rou back?

Seeing Chu Rou's downcast look, he asked, "Do you want to go to the hospital to see him?"

Chu Rou hesitated, "I don't know, I don't understand why he would commit suicide. Could it be because we broke up?"

Who is the woman making the phone call?

Mo Chi's question made Chu Rou give up her idea. Yes, He Yin had always been by He Wei's side, which was why she discovered his suicide attempt immediately.

"She was my former best friend, and also the person He Wei cheated on me with."

Mo Chi raised an eyebrow. What a melodramatic plot.

"You change your clothes, I'll go with you to take a look." After saying that, Mo Chi turned around and went back to his room to change.

Chu Rou stood there, stunned. She hadn't said she was going!

Chu Rou changed her clothes anyway. She couldn't sleep anyway, and if she didn't go and take a look, she probably wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything else for the next few days.

Mo Chi drove Chu Rou to He Guang Hospital.

He Wei has already left the operating room and is lying in a hospital room.

Chu Rou and Mo Chi pushed the door open and went in. He Yin was sitting by the hospital bed wiping away tears. She heard the door open and turned around to look.

Seeing Chu Rou and Mo Chi behind her, a hint of resentment flashed in his eyes.

"Rou Rou, you're here." He Yin walked over and tried to take Chu Rou's hand.

Chu Rou avoided the question, her face cold as she asked, "What's wrong with He Wei? Is he still alive?"

"He Vita attempted suicide by cutting his wrists. Luckily, I discovered him early and called an ambulance, otherwise he would have..."

He Yin's shoulders trembled, and tears fell to the floor like broken pearls.

In the past, Chu Rou would have comforted He Yin with heartache when she acted like this, but now, seeing this scene, Chu Rou only felt that it was pretentious and disgusting.

"Stop putting on a crying show in front of me, I'm not He Wei," Chu Rou rolled her eyes. "Since everything's alright, you can stay with him. I'm leaving."

“Rou Rou,” He Yin grabbed Chu Rou’s arm, “He Wei committed suicide for you, how can you be so heartless to him?”

"That's ridiculous!" Chu Rou said sarcastically. "He'd risk his life for me, yet he'd cheat on me with you. What kind of logic is that?"

"And you, if you like He Wei, then stay with him and take care of him. What's the point of calling me?"

"Do you only like being a mistress?"

Chu Rou's words made He Yin's face flush red and then pale. She let go of Chu Rou's arm. "Do you know that He Wei has bipolar disorder?"

"What is that?" Chu Rou asked, completely bewildered.

"It's a mental disorder that involves both mania and depression," Mo Chi explained from the side.

“Impossible, He Wei has always been normal,” Chu Rou thought of He Wei’s abnormal behavior yesterday. “Yesterday was the first time he went crazy.”

He Yin smiled wryly, "That's because he takes out all his bad moods on me, and only shows his sunny side in front of you."

"He gave you all his tenderness and care, but all he gave me was abuse and violence."

"He only has eyes for you; I'm just his dumping ground."

"Chu Rou, do you know how jealous I am of you?"

"You're better than me in every way: you come from a better family, you're better at studying, and you have the best boyfriend. The only things I can compete with you on are looks and figure."

He Yin's words left Chu Rou stunned.

Mo Chi scoffed from the side, "Why don't you look in the mirror? You look like a snake spirit. You want to compare yourself to our Rou Rou? It's ridiculous."

He Yin stopped crying, pointed at Mo Chi, and asked Chu Rou, "Who is he?"

Chu Rou had already come to her senses. She slapped He Yin's hand away, put her hands on her hips, and said, "Don't point your finger at my Mo Baobao, you snake spirit!"

"You have the nerve to complain to me? What does it matter to me how He Wei treats you? It's not like I forced you to sleep with him; it was your own choice!"

“Tell He Wei that if he’s sick, he should get treatment. Don’t try to blackmail me with suicide. I, Chu Rou, am not someone to be easily manipulated.”

After Chu Rou finished speaking, she took Mo Chi's arm and walked out. After taking a couple of steps, she turned back to He Yin and said, "And please, don't call me in the middle of the night anymore. You cry like a ghost, it's terrifying!"

Once outside the ward, Chu Rou was dejected. She let go of Mo Chi's arm and walked forward with her head down.

Mo Chi gently placed his hand on Chu Rou's head and patted it softly. "What's wrong? Feeling sorry for her?"

“No,” Chu Rou sighed, “I just feel like I’ve been too slow on the uptake. Five years have passed, and I still haven’t realized that He Wei is sick.”

“I know a psychologist who’s very professional; maybe he can help him,” Mo Chi suddenly said.

"Help him?" Chu Rou bit her lower lip, considering the feasibility of this question.

"Only by helping him become a normal person can you completely break free from this relationship."

Chu Rou turned back and looked up at Mo Chi, her eyes sparkling with starlight. "Mo Bao Bao, do you like me?"
