Chapter 130 I wanted to beat your brother up back then.

Chapter 130 I wanted to beat your brother up back then.

After Qi Lin finished speaking, the other secretaries all looked at the two of them.

Chu Rou walked up to Qi Lin, put her hand on her shoulder, and smiled at her affectionately, "We'll talk about our business in private."

Qi Lin obediently blinked, looking at Chu Rou with eager eyes.

Chu Rou withdrew her hand and smiled at everyone, "I'm new to the company, and there's still a lot I'm not familiar with. I'll need everyone's help in the future, so I'd like to say thank you in advance."

"Chu Rou," Mo Chi called out to her after she finished speaking, "Come in with me for a moment."

Chu Rou handed Xu Lan to Qin Feng, saying, "Assistant Qin, please find a seat for Xu Lan."

Qin Feng smiled and nodded, "No problem."

Chu Rou followed Mo Chi into his office.

Mo Chi waited for Chu Rou to come in and then locked the door. He put his arm around Chu Rou and sat on the sofa. He lowered his head to kiss her, but Chu Rou covered his mouth with her hand and whispered, "What are you trying to do? Don't smudge my lipstick."

She turned back to look at the door. "Why did you lock the door? Are you afraid others won't know about our inappropriate relationship?"

"What's wrong with discussing confidential matters behind closed doors?" Chu Rou wouldn't let him kiss her, so Mo Chi kissed her hand and her face instead.

Chu Rou pinched his lips, "Don't kiss me anymore, or my makeup will run. Quickly assign me some work, I need to go do some work."

Mo Chi blinked his eyes pitifully, and Chu Rou finally released his mouth.

Mo Chi quickly kissed Chu Rou's lips, then stood up, walked to his desk, picked up a pile of documents, and said, "Keep an eye on these projects for me. You can delegate the less important tasks to the three secretaries."

Chu Rou's change of attitude was swift. She looked down at the documents, and upon hearing Mo Chi's words, she looked up, "You don't trust them?"

Mo Chi sat in the leather chair. "I've just arrived at headquarters. Apart from you and Qin Feng, I don't trust anyone here."

Chu Rou understood, "I understand, I'll be careful."

She picked up a stack of documents and walked towards the door. She turned around and said, "Come and open the door for me."

Mo Chi got up to open the door for Chu Rou. He pinched her nose and said, "Only you would dare to order your boss around like that."

Chu Rou glanced at him sideways, "I'm the boss's wife, I'm the boss."

Mo Chi smiled and patted her head, then opened the door and let Chu Rou out.

Qi Lin saw that Chu Rou had taken a lot of documents, so she ran over and helped her take half of them. "Sister Chu Rou, you just arrived, and Mo Chi has already assigned you such heavy work. It's too much."

Chu Rou said in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Keep your voice down, don't expose my relationship with Mo Chi."

Qi Lin gave Chu Rou a knowing look.

Chu Rou sat in Qin Feng's previous seat. Qin Feng had already left, and he was now focusing his work on managing the private property of Mo Chi.

In addition to his businesses in City C, Mo Chi also operates several restaurants and entertainment venues in City B.

Chu Rou turned around and saw Xu Lan sitting next to Sun Li. She didn't say anything, then turned back to work.

Mo Chi is in charge of the electronics technology industry, which is Chu Rou's old profession, so she is very good at her job.

Time flies when you're busy. It was lunchtime, and Qi Lin came over and said, "Sister Chu Rou, let's go eat!"

Chu Rou looked up at her watch; it was already twelve o'clock.

She nodded, her gaze falling in the direction of Mo Chi's office, and asked Qi Lin, "Does President Chi also eat in the cafeteria?"

“Qin Feng used to pack lunches for him,” Qi Lin said, getting angry as she recalled the lunches. “Last time, I got into a fight with someone because of delivering lunch.”

As Qi Lin spoke, her eyes glanced in Sun Li's direction.

She hasn't spoken a single word to Sun Li since that incident.

Chu Rou stretched her neck and wrists before standing up. "I'll go ask President Chi. Wait for me a moment."

She walked up to Mo Chi's office door, knocked, and went in before he could speak. "Mr. Chi, what are you going to do for lunch? Do you want me to pack some for you?"

Mo Chi looked up and saw Chu Rou. His eyes were full of tenderness. "How about I go eat with you?"

"No need. I heard that the dining areas for senior leaders and ordinary employees are different, so please don't try to get special treatment," Chu Rou refused directly.

Mo Chi thought about it and realized it made sense. He hadn't been eating in the cafeteria before because he was busy checking Mo Xing'an's accounts. Now, with Chu Rou's help, he was much more relaxed.

"Then I'll go to the cafeteria to eat by myself, no need to pack it for me."

"Okay!" Chu Rou went out and closed the door.

When she came out, only Qi Lin and Xu Lan were left in the office area; the other three people had already left.

Let's go eat!

Chu Rou invited Qi Lin and Xu Lan to go to the cafeteria together.

The three of them got their food and sat down together. Qi Lin had met Xu Lan before and knew she was Chu Rou's bodyguard, so she didn't treat her like an outsider and asked Chu Rou directly, "Sister Chu Rou, why did you return the vase I gave to Uncle Chen?"

Chu Rou swallowed the food in her mouth. "Did your brother say he went to our house?"

"Huh?" Qi Lin was stunned. "My brother went to your house? When did that happen?"

“Just a few days ago, I ran into Mo Chi,” Chu Rou said casually. “Your brother even said in front of my family that you are Mo Chi’s fiancée.”

"What?" Qi Lin exclaimed in surprise.

While eating, Xu Lan listened to the gossip with her eyes wide open. Didn't President Mo register his marriage with Sister Chu Rou? How come he has another fiancée?

Chu Rou glanced at Xu Lan, who immediately lowered her head and focused on eating.

“You should tone down your temper,” Chu Rou glared at Qi Lin. “Even if something is shocking, you have to pretend to be calm, just like me.”

"At the time, I wanted nothing more than to beat your brother up and skin him alive, but I still politely asked him to leave."

Qi Lin was deflated. She felt guilty on behalf of her brother. "Sister Chu Rou, what my brother did has nothing to do with me. Please don't take your anger out on me."

“I didn’t,” Chu Rou said calmly. “Otherwise, would I still be sitting here eating with you?”

Qi Lin felt that Chu Rou's words were extremely cold. She swallowed and said, "Sister Chu Rou, how can you calm down? I can help you vent your anger."

"Is your brother good at fighting?" Chu Rou suddenly looked up and asked.

"Huh?" Qi Lin was taken aback again. "He's... alright, I guess. He can hold his own against the bodyguard at home. He often goes to boxing matches, and I've gone to watch him a few times."

Chu Rou raised an eyebrow, "Boxing?"

That's a good idea, it'll give me a chance to vent my anger, but how can I keep it from Mo Chi finding out?

Chu Rou pondered for a moment, thinking that perhaps she could go out on her own when Mo Chi returned to the Mo family's old residence.

With a smile in her eyes, she looked at Qi Lin and said, "After a while, can you help me arrange a match with your brother? I'll play a game with him. I'll let you know the specific time in advance."

Qi Lin blinked. "Okay! But what if you can't beat my brother?"

Xu Lan raised her hand, "I can help Sister Chu Rou!"
