Chapter 138 She's my fiancée, we're getting married.
Mo Chi sneered, "How old are you? Still coming to me to complain. Don't worry, he'll send me the data today."
How did you do that?
Mo Chi's expression was inscrutable. "Everyone has a weakness!"
Sure enough, in the afternoon, Mo Yuan had someone send over the transportation data.
Chu Rou asked the bespectacled woman, Tian Meng, to write a data analysis.
Tian Meng didn't say anything. She used to do this kind of work often, but after the change of leadership, she was no longer allowed to handle important reports, and she thought she was about to lose her job.
Unexpectedly, changing the assistant has brought the workload back.
Qi Lin, who was standing next to her, could only do some simple tasks, and Chu Rou would occasionally go over to give her some guidance.
Qi Lin studied very diligently, which gave Chu Rou a sense of accomplishment.
"Ding-dong!" It was a message notification sound from Qi Lin's phone. She glanced at the phone screen on the table and saw that it was a message from Qiao Siying. She picked up the phone.
Qi Lin clicked on the link, pondered for a moment, then leaned close to Chu Rou and whispered, "Sister Chu Rou, Mo Chi's mother invited me to go shopping tomorrow."
In the past, Qi Lin would always find excuses to refuse. She didn't want to marry Mo Chi, so there was no need for her to have much contact with Mo Chi's mother.
Chu Rou blinked. "Then go ahead, and take me with you."
"Understood!" Qi Lin smiled knowingly. If Sister Chu Rou wanted a chance to get in touch with Mo Chi's mother, then she had to help create that opportunity.
Qi Lin replied to the message and arranged a time and place to meet.
When it was time to leave work, Tian Meng hadn't finished her data analysis yet. Chu Rou walked over, glanced at it, and said, "This analysis isn't urgent. Just give it to me next Monday."
Tian Meng let out a breath; she was prepared to work overtime. "Then I'll take it home and make it."
Chu Rou nodded.
Mo Chi walked out of the office on time and waved to Chu Rou, "Are you ready? Let's go!"
Chu Rou picked up her bag, smiled and waved goodbye to Qi Lin, then walked to Mo Chi's side. The two chatted and laughed as they went up the elevator.
Qi Lin clicked her tongue twice. What was going on? Were the two going to go public with their relationship? How embarrassing! She'd have to go home and tell her father about announcing the engagement.
Xu Lan jogged a few steps, took the next elevator, and left.
Sun Li glanced at Qi Lin and complained to the woman with the big waves in front of her, "Sister Guo, why do I feel like President Chi and Assistant Chu have a special relationship?"
Guo Jia tossed her long, wavy hair aside, glanced at Sun Li, and said in a nonchalant tone, "Sun Li, let me give you a piece of advice: at the company, you should focus on your work, not gossip."
Tian Meng and Guo Jia left one after the other.
Sun Li blushed deeply, and Qi Lin scoffed, "Some people had better see their own strength clearly; having big hearts is useless."
Sun Li bit her lower lip, not daring to refute Qi Lin, only her eyes revealing her inner resentment.
Chu Rou and Mo Chi sat in the back of the car waiting for Xu Lan. Xu Lan jogged out, opened the passenger door, and got in.
Feng Fei turned to Mo Chi and asked, "Are we going back to Xiangyun Apartment?"
Mo Chi hesitated for a moment. He really wanted to go back and be intimate with Chu Rou, but there was no food to eat.
He only hired a part-time cleaner for now. Chu Rou is not used to being disturbed in her life, so she did not hire a live-in housekeeper.
So when they got back, Chu Rou had to cook for herself. Mo Chi felt sorry for Chu Rou, who had been working hard at the company all day and still had to cook when she got back, so he said, "Let's go eat first."
Mo Chi told Feng Fei the name of a restaurant, and after he located it, Feng Fei stepped on the gas and drove away.
Upon arriving at the restaurant entrance, Chu Rou noticed that Feng Fei and Xu Lan hadn't moved. "Feng Fei, Xu Lan, why don't you two come in and eat too!"
Xu Lan glanced at Mo Chi's gloomy face and quickly shook her head, "No need, Sister Chu Rou, we can just wait outside."
Feng Fei then unbuckled his seatbelt. "Xu Lan, get out of the car. I'll treat you to dinner. We'll sit at one table by ourselves."
Mo Chi had no objections, as long as it didn't disturb his and Chu Rou's time together.
Mo Chi and Chu Rou walked into the restaurant hand in hand and found a window seat to sit facing each other.
Chu Rou looked at the large, clear glass window next to her and said, "Mo Bao, aren't we too conspicuous sitting here?"
"Don't you like it?" Mo Chi had come to his senses. He didn't want to hide Chu Rou anymore. Anyway, everyone who needed to know already knew. "I just want everyone to know that you are mine."
Hearing Mo Chi's words, Chu Rou smiled sweetly, "Finally, I don't have to be the woman behind you anymore."
The two ordered a couple's set meal. Mo Chi brought over Chu Rou's steak, patiently cut it into small pieces, and placed it in front of her.
Chu Rou really liked Mo Chi's attentive care. The more she looked at Mo Chi, the happier she became. She was so lucky to have met Mo Chi and married him.
Feng Fei and Xu Lan sat diagonally opposite Chu Rou and Mo Chi, making it easier to observe the situation there.
Xu Lan kept turning back and sighed, "Sister Chu Rou and President Chi are so loving. If my future husband can be half as good to Sister Chu Rou as President Chi is to her, I will be content."
Feng Fei raised his eyes and glanced at Xu Lan. "Are your standards that low?"
“This is low? I’ve never seen President Chi lose his temper with Sister Chu Rou.” Xu Lan said, lowering her head. “Unlike my parents, who are always fighting.”
Feng Fei lowered his head and focused on eating; he had no interest in prying into other people's affairs.
Xu Lan didn't want to say much. She quickly composed herself, ate a steak, and said, "The steak here is really delicious, better than any I've ever had before."
If Xu Lan had seen the menu, she would have noticed that the steak at this restaurant was much more expensive than the ones she had eaten before.
Xu Lan subconsciously turned back to look at Chu Rou and Mo Chi, and found a man and a woman standing in front of their table. "Uncle, something's up!"
Feng Fei looked up and saw that Mo Chi's face was as black as the bottom of a pot.
"Rou Rou, it's been a long time!"
Chu Rou was momentarily surprised to see He Wei standing next to her, but then stood up and greeted him with a smile, "Long time no see, He Wei!"
For the first time, Mo Chi found Chu Rou's smile a little irritating. He leaned back in his chair, looking at the three people in front of him, with no intention of getting up.
He Wei seemed to have a lot to say to Chu Rou, but in the end, it all came down to one sentence: "Rou Rou, how are you doing?"
Mo Chi gritted his teeth. His wife was perfectly fine; it was obvious to everyone. Did he even need to ask?
“I’m fine,” Chu Rou said, gazing lovingly at Mo Chi. “I’m very happy with Mo Chi.”
Mo Chi smiled slightly upon hearing this.
Chu Rou's gaze fell on the woman behind He Wei. She raised an eyebrow; she recognized the woman.
She was the woman Mo Chi met at the coffee shop during the Chinese New Year. She remembered Mo Chi saying that she was He Wei's psychologist.
Chu Rou asked with a smile, "What's your name, beautiful lady?"
He Wei turned around and pulled Deng Qian to the front. "Her name is Deng Qian. She is my psychologist."
He Wei paused for a moment, then continued, "She is also my fiancée, and we are getting married next month."
Chu Rou:......
Mochi:......
