Chapter 189 Do you know that Shanshan likes you?
"Looks a lot like me?" Shen Yan murmured to himself, his gaze intense. "You like my type?"
Huang Shan didn't dare to meet Shen Yan's gaze, lowered her head, and softly hummed in agreement.
Shen Yan clenched his fist. He felt right, but unfortunately he didn't deserve it. He still owed Shan Shan a hundred million.
"I'll keep an eye out for you and find someone better."
After Shen Yan finished speaking, he turned and went to the study.
Huang Shan stood there for a long time. She smiled bitterly, knowing this was the outcome. What was there to be disappointed about?
She returned to her room, sat on the bed in a daze, and thought about the past six months of chasing after Shen Yan. She had given so much, but had received nothing in return.
It's said that a woman pursuing a man is as easy as piercing a veil, but there's a thin layer of paper between her and Shen Yan. She doesn't dare to break through it, afraid that once she does, there will be no possibility left.
What is love in this world? She's just a hopeless romantic!
Huang Shan wiped away her tears, took out her suitcase, and threw all her clothes inside.
They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, but maybe she and Shen Yan are too close. She'll leave here tomorrow and go back to school.
Huang Shan called Qu Jie in tears, saying that she had to leave Shen Yan temporarily.
Qu Jie paused for two seconds after hearing this, then said, "Then you can move in with me!"
"Huh? Won't that disturb you and Shen Luo?" Huang Shan asked tearfully.
“I recently saw that the house next door is for sale. You can buy it. It’s very close to the school, which will be convenient for attending classes,” Qu Jie suggested.
"Waaah... I lent all my money to Shen Yan," Huang Shan said, only having a few hundred thousand yuan left in pocket money, not enough to buy a house. "You buy it and I'll move in."
Qu Jie sighed, she couldn't stand Huang Shan crying the most. "Fine, fine, I'll go and contact them to buy a house right away. Wait for my news."
Qu Jie hung up the phone and contacted the agency.
Fortunately, it was still early, and the agent rushed over with the contract. Qu Jie didn't even haggle over the price; she signed the contract, paid the full amount, and got the door code.
Shen Luo was completely stunned; Qu Jie's movements were so fast that he couldn't get a word in edgewise.
After the real estate agent left, he finally spoke up and asked, "Xiao Jie, why do you buy a house like you're buying vegetables? People haggle over the price when they buy vegetables, but you just ask for a fixed price for a house and don't negotiate at all?"
Qu Jie was stunned for a moment, "You can negotiate the price when buying a house? Why didn't you say so sooner!"
Shen Luo had a headache. How could rich people spend money like it was nothing? "You can talk about anything you want to buy? You've already transferred all the money before you even got the property certificate. What if they don't transfer the property to you?"
"Isn't there a contract?" Qu Jie waved the contract in her hand.
Shen Luo sighed, "But what if the agent is a scammer? He signed the contract on your behalf, and you didn't even see the buyer."
"I'm just in a hurry. Huang Shan has nowhere to live, so it's convenient for us to look after each other if she stays next door." Qu Jie didn't care about the house payment; it was only a little over a million yuan.
"Why isn't Huang Shan staying at my brother's house anymore?" Shen Luo asked, completely bewildered.
Qu Jie shrugged. "She said distance makes the heart grow fonder."
Shen Luo took a picture of Qu Jie's house purchase contract and sent it to Shen Yan so he could check if it was in accordance with regulations. She also told Shen Yan that Huang Shan was moving in.
Upon seeing Shen Luo's message, Shen Yan rubbed the back of his neck, leaned back in his chair, and closed his eyes.
It's better for her to leave; living with him wouldn't be good for her reputation.
The next morning, Shen Yan heard a noise, dressed himself, and came out of the bedroom to see Huang Shan pulling a suitcase, preparing to leave.
"I'll take you there." Shen Yan took the suitcase and walked towards the door.
Huang Shan had prepared a set of excuses, but it seems she won't need them anymore. Shen Yan knows she's moving out, and he's not trying to stop her at all!
Maybe he'd found her annoying a long time ago!
Huang Shan lowered her head and followed him out.
Shen Yan drove Huang Shan to her apartment building. He stopped the car, took his suitcase out of the trunk, put it on the ground, and glanced at Huang Shan. "Do you want me to take you up?"
Huang Shan shook her head. She looked up at Shen Yan, then lowered her eyes again, remaining motionless and silent.
Shen Yan stood quietly beside her.
In the end, Shen Yan moved. He raised his hand and patted Huang Shan's shoulder. "Go on up. I'm going back now. If you need any help in the future, just give me a call."
Huang Shan nodded, two tears falling to the ground. She gripped the handle of her suitcase and ran quickly into the apartment without looking back.
As Shen Yan watched Huang Shan run away, he felt a deep emptiness in his heart.
Huang Shan went upstairs and hugged Qu Jie, crying hysterically.
Qu Jie sighed, "I've never cried before when I couldn't win over a man, why am I so heartbroken this time?"
"Before... it was all just... chasing each other for fun," Huang Shan sobbed, her words stammering, "This time... I'm really serious... do you understand what 'really serious' means?"
"I understand, I understand," Qu Jie said, handing Huang Shan a pack of tissues. "Quickly wipe your nose."
Shen Luo crossed her legs, propped her chin on her hand, and watched the commotion. She was actually quite worried for Shen Yan. Why couldn't her brother get it?
Huang Shan looked quite pitiful, so he took out his phone and filmed a video of Huang Shan's suffering and sent it to Chu Rou.
Chu Rou: [? What's wrong, Shanshan? Did you break up with your boyfriend?]
Shen Luo: [Not really. Neither she nor my older brother have ever been in a relationship; it's more accurate to say she pursued someone unsuccessfully.]
Chu Rou: [Shanshan confessed her feelings? Shen Yan rejected her?]
Shen Luo: [It seems not. Shanshan just moved out of my older brother's house and will be living next door to us from now on.]
Chu Rou: […]
Chu Rou put down her phone. She had already given Shen Yan a hint yesterday, surely he still didn't understand!
She stood up and paced back and forth in the living room. What was wrong with Shen Yan? If he didn't like Shan Shan, then he shouldn't waste her time.
Qi Wende looked up and saw Chu Rou sitting uneasily. "Rou Rou, what happened?"
"It's not my problem, it's Shen Yan and Shan Shan's problem, they're really worrying me."
Chu Rou told Qi Wende about the relationship between Shen Yan and Huang Shan.
Qi Wende listened attentively. He usually had no interest in listening to young people's love affairs, but he took Chu Rou's concerns to heart.
"Why don't you just ask Shen Yan what he thinks? I think he might know that this girl likes him."
Chu Rou thought it made sense. "I have to ask for Shan Shan. After all, men like to pretend."
Upon hearing this, Qi Wende looked at Chu Rou with a complicated expression.
Chu Rou realized that her words had hurt her father, so she chuckled and said, "Dad, I didn't mean anything by it, so don't take it to heart."
Qi Wende snorted coldly.
Chu Rou sent a message to Shen Yan, asking where he was.
Upon learning that Shen Yan had returned to Longxiang Garden, Chu Rou immediately ran downstairs and knocked on the door.
Shen Yan opened the door and let Chu Rou in. "Did you need something?"
Chu Rou sat on the sofa, staring at Shen Yan, "Brother Shen Yan, do you know that Shan Shan likes you?"
