Chapter 56 Just repay me with your body
A scholar can be killed but not humiliated. Shen Yan was prepared to fight to the death. He glared fiercely at the man and punched him in the face. "I'll listen to your mother!"
The man was stunned by the beating. When he came to his senses, he turned hostile and raised his fist to strike back.
A shoe suddenly hit the man in the face.
"Who the hell dares to throw a shoe at me!" The man was furious and turned around to look.
Shen Yan also peeked out to look.
Chu Rou stood at the entrance of the alley, hands on her hips and one foot bare. "You lot have really got some nerve, daring to bully someone like me, Chu Rou."
The thugs were amused when they saw it was a young girl. "Hahaha, we were just worried that one wasn't enough, and now another one has come to us willingly."
Shen Yan panicked and shouted to Chu Rou, "Xiao Rou, don't worry about me, run!"
Chu Rou walked over with one foot higher than the other. She calmly picked up the shoe that had been thrown at her, brushed off the pebbles and dust from her feet, and put it on.
She stood in front of Shen Yan, not very tall but very arrogant, "I'll give you a chance. I'll count to three, give my brother's things back to him, and then you can leave."
"Hahaha!" Chu Rou's words drew laughter from the thugs. "Little girl, you've got some big talk. Let's see what you can do after you count to three."
"Three!" Chu Rou shouted as she punched the nearest thug in the stomach.
Before anyone else could react, Chu Rou attacked with both fists and feet, and the last skinny man was thrown over her shoulder and pinned down on top of another thug.
Shen Yan was dumbfounded. He hadn't expected that the girl who only reached his shoulder would be so strong and agile.
Chu Rou found Shen Yan's camera and handed it back to him, "Brother Shen Yan, did they steal anything else from you?"
Shen Yan's Adam's apple bobbed, and he finally reacted. He took the camera and said, "There's still some money."
He found the person who took his money and retrieved it from the thug's pocket.
Before leaving, Chu Rou kicked each of them one last time, saying, "Remember this, this area is under my jurisdiction. Call me Sister Rou next time you see me!"
Shen Yan was a little worried. He asked in a low voice, "Xiao Rou, aren't you afraid they'll cause you trouble in the future?"
Chu Rou shouted, "Sister Rou, I have connections in the bureau. I'll see who dares to cause me trouble and make sure they rot in jail."
After saying that, Chu Rou took Shen Yan's hand and left the alley.
Still shaken, Shen Yan walked onto the busy main road before he could finally relax. He wiped the sweat from his brow and said, "Xiao Rou, thank you so much for today."
"Why thank me when we're family?" Chu Rou waved her hand magnanimously.
"By the way, how did you know I was stuck in the alley?" Shen Yan asked curiously.
"This area is under my jurisdiction!" Chu Rou patted her chest. "One of my underlings saw it and immediately reported it to me."
"Little brother?" Shen Yan looked at Chu Rou in surprise. "A gang?"
"My security management team is responsible for preventing any fights or robberies in this area," Chu Rou explained. "Uncle Lu, you may not know him, but he's a friend of my father's and a policeman now. He's very supportive of me."
Shen Yan raised an eyebrow. So she really did have connections in the bureau. He thought Chu Rou's organization was like a child's game, but today it was this child's game organization that saved him.
"Xiaorou, I still want to thank you. You can make a request of me, and I will definitely fulfill it if it is within my power."
After listening, Chu Rou blinked. If she didn't make a request today, Shen Yan wouldn't be able to get over this. Her eyes darted around and she saw the camera in Shen Yan's hand. She smiled and said, "Then take a nice picture for me!"
Shen Yan raised his camera and pointed the lens at Chu Rou. Chu Rou smiled sweetly and made a "V" sign.
He captured the most beautiful Chu Rou, at least in his heart.
"I'll print it out for you when I get back," Shen Yan said, putting away his camera. "That request doesn't count. Let me know when you think of something. There's no time limit!"
Unexpectedly, he saw Chu Rou again ten years later. He still owed her a request, and he wondered if she still remembered it.
Shen Yan pulled himself out of his thoughts and returned to the ward.
Shen Luo had already woken up. Upon seeing Shen Yan, she called out, "Big Brother."
Shen Yan walked to Shen Luo's bedside. "Xiao Luo, do you remember what happened back then? That van deliberately crashed into us?"
Shen Luo hummed in agreement. "The three of us were walking on the sidewalk when that van came from the wrong direction. I was trying to avoid it, but the driver deliberately swerved and drove straight at me."
"After I was hit and thrown, the car reversed back at a very high speed. If it weren't for Qu Jie, I might have died."
"I must thank Qu Jie for saving my life."
"Xiao Luo, have you offended anyone?" Shen Yan asked again.
"No, who could I have offended at school?" Shen Luo thought for a moment. "The people I offended the most were Huang Shan and Qu Jie, but they were with me at the time, and we didn't have that much of a grudge against each other!"
A silence fell over the ward as everyone pondered the possibilities, but couldn't quite grasp the situation.
Shen Yan pressed his temples. The day after he returned, Chu Rou had an accident in the morning, and then Shen Luo had an accident at noon. It was really a headache.

Chu Rou recounted the incident of being doused with gasoline in a very casual manner.
After hearing this, Shi Jingman hugged Chu Rou and cried again.
Shen Luo slammed her fist on the hospital bed, pulling at her wound and wincing in pain. "Ouch... This Ye Xia is really brainless. My sister has no grudge against her, so why would she expose her photos? How could my sister have her photos!"
Shen Luo's words reminded Mo Chi. He stroked his chin thoughtfully. Had Ye Xia offended someone too? Finding those photos would require some skill; it certainly wouldn't be someone from the school.
He could check on Ye Xia's situation first, wondering if it was related to Shen Luo's matter.
Shi Jingman and Shen Minghui stayed behind to take care of Shen Luo.
The next day, Chu Rou and Mo Chi came to relieve Shi Jingman and Shen Minghui, and told them to go back and rest.
As soon as Shi Jingman and Shen Minghui left, Huang Shan and Qu Jie arrived.
Huang Shan came in but didn't even glance at Shen Luo. Instead, she pulled Chu Rou into the corridor and said she wanted to ask her some private questions.
Mo Chi wanted to go out with her, but he felt that it was inappropriate for him to eavesdrop on the girls' private conversations, so he could only sit in the ward.
Qu Jie walked directly to Shen Luo's bedside and sat down, looking at him affectionately, "Does your rib hurt?"
Shen Luo looked at Qu Jie, her eyes filled with gratitude, "Thank goodness, Qu Jie, you are my savior. From now on, you can do anything for me."
Qu Jie lowered her eyes, "That's not necessary, just repay me with your body!"
