Chapter 87 I am Shen Yan's fiancée
Shi Jingman was very close to Shen Minghui and could hear the conversation on the phone.
She glared at him and silently said with her lips, "You're not allowed to go!"
Shen Minghui nodded, gave Shi Jingman an OK sign, and said to his phone, "Who is this?"
An angry woman's voice came from the phone, "Shen Minghui, don't pretend with me. Can't you recognize my voice?"
Shen Minghui said calmly, "I'm sorry, I really didn't recognize it. Goodbye!"
“Wait a minute,” Sun Wanying said anxiously, “I am Sun Wanying. Meet me at the coffee shop at three o’clock this afternoon. I will send you the address.”
Before Shen Minghui could refuse, Sun Wanying hung up the phone. Soon after, she sent a text message with the meeting place.
Shi Jingman snorted, "How can you force someone to meet like that?"
Shen Minghui was also extremely frustrated and complained, "Over the years, she hasn't changed at all. She likes to order others around, and everyone has to listen to her."
Shi Jingman was sulking, so Shen Minghui decided to ask his son for help. He called Shen Yan and explained the situation.
Shen Yan was also having a headache. His mother had returned to China without saying a word and had brought Heidi with her.
Now she's even bothering her dad and Aunt Shi's lives; she can't stand seeing others do better than her.
"Dad, I have no choice. How about I go with you? Please send me the address."
Shen Minghui thought it was a good idea, better than the two of them meeting alone.
Shi Jingman, holding her breath, stood up and said, "I'm going too!"
Shen Minghui: ...
I hope they won't start fighting when they meet!
Shi Jingman opened the wardrobe and searched for a long time but couldn't find a single piece of clothing she liked.
She walked out of the bedroom and called to Chu Rou, "Rou Rou, come with me to the mall to buy clothes!"
"Huh?" Chu Rou was taken aback. "What kind of clothes are you buying?"
“How should I know? I’ll only know what clothes to buy when we get there,” Shi Jingman said curtly. “Stop talking nonsense and drive me there.”
"Yes, ma'am!" Chu Rou saw that her mother was in a bad mood and guessed what was going on. She immediately jumped up from the sofa and went back to her room to change her clothes.
Chu Rou took Shi Jingman to the best shopping mall in City C and headed straight for the women's clothing store.
Shi Jingman picked and chose without even looking at the price, spending tens of thousands of yuan to buy everything from head to toe.
“There’s a reason why it’s expensive. This dress feels different when you wear it,” Chu Rou said, circling around Shi Jingman. “Mom, your style has improved so much.”
Shi Jingman looked at herself in the mirror. The clothes were okay, but the hairstyle was a bit lacking. "I want to get my hair done again."
"Okay, I'll go with you!"
Chu Rou then took Shi Jingman to a hair salon for a one-time styling session.
"Mom, you're perfect now. You can beat any middle-aged woman within a hundred miles." Chu Rou praised from the side.
Shi Jingman glanced at the time; it was already past two o'clock, and there was no time to go home. She looked at Chu Rou and said, "Rou Rou, come with Mom somewhere."
"Go keep an eye on Uncle Chen?" Chu Rou asked.
"I'm going there openly and honestly." Shi Jingman raised her head and strode out.
Chu Rou had no choice but to follow in her mother's footsteps.
They drove to the coffee shop and saw Shen Minghui and Shen Yan's car; it seemed they had both arrived.
Chu Rou and Shi Jingman got out of the car and walked into the coffee shop. They saw Shen Minghui and Shen Yan by the window.
Two women were sitting opposite them. Shi Jingman recognized the middle-aged woman as Sun Wanying.
A young girl was sitting next to Sun Wanying.
The girl's eyes were full of love when she looked at Shen Yan. Chu Rou became more vigilant. She had to keep an eye on Shen Yan for Huang Shan.
The table was already full of four people, and there were no seats available for Chu Rou and Shi Jingman, so the two of them sat down next to them.
Shen Minghui was the first to notice them. He got up and walked over, his eyes fixed on Shi Jingman. "Wife, you look beautiful today."
Shi Jingman rolled her eyes at him. "When am I not beautiful?"
Shen Minghui chuckled, "My wife is right, you've always been the most beautiful."
He glanced at the table next to him and asked, "Honey, do you want to go over and say hello?"
"They came all the way back, so of course I have to go and greet them."
Shi Jingman stood up and followed Shen Minghui over. Chu Rou felt that she should also go over and say hello, after all, she was Shen Yan's biological mother, so it was a way to give Shen Yan face.
When Shen Yan saw Shi Jingman and Chu Rou coming over, he immediately stood up and said, "Aunt Shi, please sit here with Dad!"
Sun Wanying glanced at Shi Jingman but didn't move.
Heidi, who was next to her, didn't move either.
Chu Rou frowned, somewhat dissatisfied with Sun Wanying and Heidi's attitude.
“Brother Shen Yan,” Chu Rou turned her gaze to Shen Yan, “are you here with Uncle Shen to go on a date with some beautiful women?”
Shen Yan tapped Chu Rou on the head with his index finger knuckle. "Don't talk nonsense, Xiao Rou. Let me introduce you. This is my mother. You can call her Aunt Sun."
“This one,” Shen Yan said, pointing to Heidi, “is Heidi, the daughter of my mother’s business partner.”
Chu Rou nodded to Sun Wanying, "Hello, Aunt Sun!"
Sun Wanying glanced at Chu Rou and casually hummed in response, thus dismissing the matter.
Chu Rou's gaze shifted to Heidi, a beautiful mixed-race woman. Heidi met Chu Rou's eyes, her gaze filled with hostility.
Chu Rou was puzzled. She had never provoked Heidi when they first met!
Heidi didn't greet her, and Chu Rou wasn't about to be polite. She looked away and said, "Mom, Uncle Chen, you two chat. I'll wait for you over there."
Chu Rou returned to her original seat, and Shen Yan, having nowhere else to sit, followed her and sat opposite her.
Heidi's gaze followed Shen Yan. She whispered a few words to Sun Wanying, then got up and walked over to sit next to Shen Yan.
Shen Yan frowned slightly and glanced at Heidi. "Why did you come here?"
"Of course I want to sit with you!" Heidi gave Shen Yan a sweet smile.
Chu Rou glanced at Shen Yan and then at Heidi, asking curiously, "Brother Shen Yan, what's your relationship with her?"
"It doesn't matter!"
"I am his fiancée!"
Shen Yan and Heidi spoke at the same time, but their answers were quite different.
Chu Rou raised her eyebrows and looked at the two of them.
Shen Yan pressed his temples, his tone helpless, "Heidi, I've said it many times, the engagement was proposed by my mother, and I didn't agree, OK?"
Heidi pouted and said, "I don't care, Auntie says she can make the decision. I like you, and I'm going to marry you!"
Chu Rou secretly took a picture of Heidi and Shen Yan with her phone and sent it to Huang Shan with a text message:
[Shanshan, your rival has appeared, claiming to be Shen Yan's fiancée, but you still have a chance because Shen Yan won't acknowledge her.]
Huang Shan replied instantly: "Sister Chu Rou, could you keep an eye on things for me for two days? I'll call them back on the second day of the Lunar New Year."
