Chapter 82 Don't go, sleep with me tonight.
“I’m not aggrieved,” Chu Rou chuckled twice. “I have complete control over the finances, so I feel very secure.”
Mo Chi and Chu Rou drove to the Shen family's building. After getting out of the car, Chu Rou looked back at Xu Lan and Feng Fei in the car behind them.
"Mo Bao, let's go upstairs for dinner. What about the bodyguards?"
“They’ll handle it themselves,” Mo Chi said, putting his arm around Chu Rou as they walked upstairs. “You don’t need to worry about it.”
Upon arriving at the Shen family home, Shen Luo and Qu Jie sat on the sofa in the living room.
The cast on Shen Luo's calf hadn't been removed yet; it was draped over a chair with a pair of crutches beside it.
His face has completely healed, and he's back to being a handsome young man, but his brain seems to have been knocked out; he's staring at Qu Jie with a silly grin.
Qu Jie was peeling an apple very carefully, and the peel didn't break at all.
She cut the peeled apple in half and handed one half to Shen Luo. Shen Luo didn't take it, but just opened his mouth, and Qu Jie fed him the apple.
Shen Luo took a bite, her eyes fixed on Qu Jie's lips.
Chu Rou and Mo Chi stood behind the two of them watching. Chu Rou looked away and said, "Mo Bao, it seems that Xiao Luo's IQ has dropped a lot. Should we take him to get checked out?"
Mo Chi thought for a moment, "He doesn't make a fuss, he's quite easy to take care of, and we can afford to support him for the rest of our lives."
Shen Luo suddenly turned around, "Are you two sick? Do you think I can't hear you? Even if I'm supported by someone else, I don't need the two of you. I still have Xiao Jie!"
Qu Jie stood up and greeted, "Sister Chu Rou."
She glanced at the matching rings on Chu Rou and Mo Chi's hands, and called out to Mo Chi, "Brother-in-law."
Upon hearing the word "brother-in-law," Mo Chi immediately beamed with joy. "Hey! Qu Jie is so sensible. Xiao Luo, you should learn from Qu Jie."
Shen Luo exploded, "It's not that easy to become my brother-in-law. You'll have to marry my sister first."
Chu Rou felt a little guilty. Mo Chi held her hand and gave Shen Luo a provocative smile, "It's only a matter of time."
Before Shen Luo could say anything, Qu Jie stuffed an apple into her mouth, saying, "Eat it quickly!"
"Mmm." Shen Luo immediately turned back into a little lamb, taking Qu Jie's hand and making her sit down.
Chu Rou and Mo Chi found a place to sit down.
"Xiao Jie, when are you going back to D City?" Chu Rou asked. "Shan Shan said she seems to be leaving today."
Qu Jie nodded, "I'll go back tomorrow; a car from home will pick me up."
Mentioning Qu Jie's departure immediately dampened Shen Luo's spirits. He leaned on Qu Jie's shoulder and asked, "Xiao Jie, what will I do if I miss you?"
“You can video chat with me.” Qu Jie patted his head.
"Why are you acting like a little wife?" Chu Rou couldn't stand it at all. If Qu Jie hadn't been there, she would have already gone up and taught Chen Luo a lesson. "Can't you act like a man?"
Shen Luo rolled her eyes at Chu Rou, "You're not acting like a woman at all, you rude tomboy!"
Chu Rou had already clenched her fists and glared at Chen Luo, while Mo Chi casually remarked from the side, "I like Rou Rou no matter what."
Chu Rou smiled and raised her eyebrows to look at Shen Luo.
Shen Luo gave a cold "humph," acting coquettishly, and rubbed against Qu Jie's shoulder, "No matter what I'm like, Xiao Jie will like me too."
Ugh! Chu Rou couldn't take it anymore, stood up, rolled up her sleeves, and was about to beat someone up.
"Xiao Jie, save me!" Shen Luo grabbed Qu Jie's hand and held it in front of her eyes.
"Sister Chu Rou, you should wait until he's fully recovered before beating him. It's not very satisfying to beat him up now," Qu Jie advised.
Chu Rou withdrew her fist. "Xiao Jie makes a good point. Let him go today."
Shen Luo's heart was bleeding; there was no love left!
Shi Jingman prepared a table full of dishes, waiting for Shen Yan to come over and start the meal.
Shen Minghui made several phone calls before Shen Yan rushed over.
"Xiao Yan, what time is it? You can't stay up this late every day without eating." Shen Minghui said with a worried look.
Shen Yan thought about how he hadn't missed a single meal recently, all thanks to Huang Shan's help. Today, Huang Shan had gone home, and with no one around to urge him on, he had been busy until now.
"I've been eating all three meals on time lately."
After Shen Yan finished speaking, he looked at Chu Rou and said, "Xiao Rou, Chu Mingjie has withdrawn the lawsuit."
"Huh?" Chu Rou was taken aback. "What new trick is he planning this time?"
Shen Yan shook his head slightly, "I heard that the lawyer who was helping him with the case quit."
"That lawyer is quite self-aware; he's bound to lose a lawsuit against Shen Yan," Chu Rou said with a smile. "It's better to withdraw the case; I don't want to see him again."
Shi Jingman and Shen Minghui were also very happy to hear the news.
After dinner, Qu Jie got up to leave, but Shen Luo held her back, saying, "Xiao Jie, why don't you stay the night?"
Shi Jingman tried to persuade her to stay, saying, "Yes, there's a place to stay at home, it's very convenient."
"Xiao Jie, you can stay in my room," Chu Rou also advised.
Qu Jie wasn't one to mince words. She had her eye on Shen Luo, and Shen Luo's family had accepted her, so she readily agreed.
Shen Yan left first.
Chu Rou and Mo Chi sat for a while longer before heading back.
Shen Luo led Qu Jie to his room, and he hopped ahead of her on crutches.
Upon entering the room, Shen Luo sat on the edge of the bed, put away her crutch, and then reached out to take Qu Jie's hand.
Qu Jie sat down next to him.
Shen Luo looked at her with a pitiful expression, and Qu Jie brushed the stray hairs from his eyes, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Xiao Jie, I'll miss you when you go home."
Qu Jie was really good to Shen Luo. During his hospitalization, Qu Jie stayed with him every day and took care of him personally, without using a caregiver.
Qu Jie had mentioned some of her family situation to Shen Luo. She was an only child, and her family had a business. She would have to go back to take over the business after graduation, so he would have to go to D City with her.
Qu Jie comes from a well-off family, so she's not pretentious at all. Apart from having a bad temper sometimes and being a bit too assertive, she's perfect in every other way.
Shen Luo was used to being bullied by Chu Rou and didn't think Qu Jie was going too far; he was already deeply caught in the whirlpool of love.
Qu Jie touched his face, "I'll miss you too."
Shen Luo lowered his head to kiss Qu Jie, but Qu Jie was afraid that he would hurt his ribs again, so she gently pushed Shen Luo down, flipped over and straddled Shen Luo's waist, put her hands on his ears, and lowered her head to kiss him.
Shen Luo felt lightheaded, closed his eyes to feel the silky smooth touch on his tongue, and couldn't help but hum a sound through his nose.
Qu Jie released Chen Luo, her breathing a little heavy. "It's getting late, we should rest."
Shen Luo held Qu Jie's waist with both hands, her face flushed. "Don't go, sleep with me tonight."
Qu Jie and Shen Luo looked at each other for a moment, then she lowered her eyes and said, "I'll help you wipe yourself down first, and I'll go back to my room after you fall asleep."
Hearing that Qu Jie was going to help him wipe his body, Shen Luo let go of her hand.
Qu Jie went to the bathroom and brought out a basin of warm water.
Shen Luo had already taken off all her clothes and sat up against the headboard.
Qu Jie wrung out the towel and first wiped Shen Luo's face, then her neck, chest, and abdomen.
Shen Luo's chest heaved violently. He grabbed Qu Jie, who was about to leave, and said, "Xiao Jie, I want to take a full-body bath today."
