"Okay." Fu Huaijin responded quickly, wiping away the beads of sweat that appeared on her skin and even fanning her with his hand, seemingly unaware that these tasks could be left to the servants.
Chu Juan only casually mentioned it and did not expect this pampered young master who never lifted a finger to take care of things.
He gently rubbed his temples, having fallen asleep twice only to be suddenly awakened. Now, his head was throbbing as if it were about to explode, and his eyes were bloodshot and bright red.
He desperately needs sleep, the kind of sleep that allows him to fall asleep peacefully.
After giving the necessary instructions, Chu Juan covered his mouth, let out a big yawn, and turned to leave.
Fu Huaijin had never taken care of anyone before, let alone knew how to take care of someone meticulously.
But this time, he really did his best, wiping away Su Yuxi's sweat and lowering the air conditioning temperature. He took her temperature every three to five minutes, applying ice when she was hot and covering her with a blanket when she was cold. He was more responsible than any other caregiver.
She worked until late at night until her low-grade fever subsided and her sweating stopped.
Fu Huaijin felt relieved and finally dared to sleep peacefully.
He fell into an unprecedentedly deep sleep, until the sun was high in the sky and golden sunlight refracted through the window and shone on him.
He raised his hand to cover his eyelids, lazily rolled his eyes a couple of times, not yet fully awake. He wanted to ease his sleepiness a little more, when suddenly something soft brushed against his face, carrying a refreshing fragrance and an indescribable tingling sensation, causing his facial muscles to tremble slightly.
When the unknown object swept over again, Fu Huaijin almost instinctively reached out and grabbed the mischievous thing. As his fingertips lightly touched it, he felt that the thing was fluffy, soft, and warm, and it was probably a plush toy.
He applied a little pressure with his palm and pinched it twice.
Suddenly, the thing froze and stopped shaking.
Fu Huaijin groggily opened his eyes, his vision blurred. He blinked and tried to focus, and saw Su Yuxi's cautious, panicked face.
Their eyes met unexpectedly, and both froze...
Su Yuxi knelt down, her hands slightly raised, making a strange gesture as if she wanted to pinch something.
Do you want to strangle him?
However, no, when Su Yuxi saw him wake up, panic surged into her heart like a tidal wave, and her face immediately lost all color, as if she had seen something terrifying.
Fortunately, she reacted quickly. Before Fu Huaijin could react, she snatched her fox tail from his hand and haphazardly stuffed it back into the quilt.
Who would have thought that when she woke up early in the morning, her own fox tail would inexplicably pop up and be held and played with by this man?
That pinch almost gave her a heart attack.
Fu Huaijin, now fully awake after his belongings were stolen, clenched his fists slightly, suddenly feeling a pang of reluctance that the item had slipped from his grasp.
He sat up in bed, not even having time to assess his physical condition, but instead immediately inquired about the things that had been taken back.
What are you hiding under the blanket?
Su Yuxi pulled the blanket tighter around herself and stammered, "No...nothing, nothing at all."
You can't show him anything; seeing this stuff is a death sentence.
Fu Huaijin narrowed his eyes slightly, his deep pupils staring intently at her flustered face. This attempt to cover up her predicament was so weak and unconvincing that it wouldn't even fool a primary school student.
He reached out as if to tear it open to take a look. The thing he had just touched was softer than he had imagined, which suited him perfectly. If he could, he would like to take it back.
Unexpectedly, his action startled Su Yuxi. She was shocked, like a little white rabbit with its fur standing on end. She screamed at the top of her lungs, "What are you doing? You pervert, why did you pull off my blanket?"
"Get out, get out, ahhh... Get out right now, I don't want to see you."
Fu Huaijin suddenly heard a sharp, high-pitched scream. Especially since his hearing was now several times stronger, he almost had his eardrum rupture if he wasn't careful.
He frowned deeply, his brows furrowing into a deep frown. Seeing Su Yuxi's bluffing demeanor only proved that she had something she didn't want him to know under the covers.
Then he'll definitely want to watch it.
Su Yuxi was so anxious that her face turned red. Seeing that he still didn't withdraw his hand, she grabbed a pillow in desperation... and found that her pillow was wet. A look of surprise flashed through her mind. Before she could think about what was going on, she pointed the pillow at the man in front of her and threatened him with a fierce look: "Get out of here right now, or I'll hit you."
Hearing the commotion outside, Chu Juan rushed in. As soon as he opened the door, he saw: one standing and one sitting... like two opposing mountain peaks, standing in the small space beside the bed, as if they could start fighting at any moment.
What happened between them in just one night?
"What are you doing?"
Fu Huaijin was equally bewildered, his eyes filled with incomprehension.
He didn't know what happened; he just wanted to see what she was hiding, and suddenly he exploded.
When Su Yuxi saw Chu Juan arrive, she looked at him as if he were her savior, her eagerness genuine: "Chu Juan... Chu Juan, hurry... take him out of here! A grown man like him keeps coming into my room without my permission, wanting to sleep with me. He's crazy! Go away, take him away! I don't want to see him right now."
She just wanted to get rid of him, the faster the better.
Chu Juan's eyes deepened with doubt. Didn't these two often sleep together? Why did it suddenly stop working?
Although he trusted his brother, he had driven this usually well-behaved man to such a violent state. Had he really done something wrong?
Fu Huaijin met the doubt in his brother's eyes and was speechless.
Chu Juan knew that the problem couldn't be solved in a short time, so he looked away and reassured the person on the bed, "Okay, let's go out first, don't get agitated."
The two left under Su Yuxi's wary gaze.
The moment the door closed, Su Yuxi shot out like an arrow, her figure blurring as she darted to the doorway at top speed.
With a 'click,' the door was slammed shut, preventing anyone from entering.
Finally, she pressed her ear gently against the door, holding her breath and listening intently to their footsteps as they walked further and further away, until the footsteps disappeared into the corridor, and her heart finally settled back into her stomach.
Su Yuxi leaned against the wall, her body seemingly drained of all strength, and slid limply down the wall, her fingers still trembling slightly.
A bright white fox tail, as white as the moon, unexpectedly appeared from behind, swaying gently in the air.
She glanced back, grabbed the tail in front of her, and gently combed the soft fox tail with her fingertips, then rubbed it lightly against her cheek, a faint sadness between her brows: she didn't know why the tail had suddenly appeared and couldn't be retracted.
This is absolutely unbelievable.
