Su Yuxi smacked her lips twice: "Yeah, the chefs found it for me before. Ask them where they bought it."
Fu Huaijin's eyes darkened, and he held the shrimp dumpling to her lips: "Okay, eat first, I'll ask later."
Su Yuxi frowned as she looked at the shrimp dumpling that was already being offered to her mouth, and turned her head away in utter repulsion: "I don't want to eat it."
She wasn't being dramatic; she genuinely couldn't eat these things.
Fu Huaijin put down what he was holding and looked at her silently for three seconds: "Have you been unable to eat these past few days?"
Su Yuxi didn't hide anything and nodded gently.
"We'll go to the hospital for a check-up later."
Su Yuxi gave a slight smirk: "Oh."
She also found it strange and thought it would be good to have it checked.
However, before they could go to the hospital for a check-up, an unexpected incident occurred.
The person impersonating him was caught just before crossing the border.
Fearing further complications, they put aside the inspection and instead went to interrogate the man.
This time, Fu Huaijin brought Su Yuxi with him. He dared not leave her alone at home again. He couldn't bear to hear bad news about her again. Whether it was true or false, as long as he was alive, he would hold her hand tightly.
The two drove to a secret interrogation site.
The fake Fu Huaijin was firmly chained to the cold interrogation rack. His body was soaked in blood, as if he had just come out of a cruel torture. Except for his pale face that still retained a trace of life, he was almost a blood-soaked figure.
"Do you want to wait for me outside?" Fu Huaijin squeezed her slightly cold little hand, afraid that she would be frightened by the bloody scene.
"No need. I also want to see how this imposter became exactly like you, without a single flaw." She had suffered such a huge loss at the hands of this person; she had to let this fake one have a go.
Fu Huaijin raised an eyebrow, his tone playful: "Then how did you recognize that it was fake at a glance?"
He had seen the surveillance footage, and the person's appearance, tone of voice, and habitual movements were exactly the same as his own. Even he himself might not be able to tell the difference.
Su Yuxi raised her chin slightly, her eyes filled with a hint of arrogance and certainty, confident in her discerning eye: "You have been branded by me, you are my man, even if you turn to ashes, I will still recognize you."
Upon hearing this, Fu Huaijin squeezed her hand even tighter, his eyes full of doting affection, clearly enjoying hearing these words: "Yes, our Xixi is the best."
Seeing that the man was teasing her again, Su Yuxi pretended to slap him and pushed him inside, saying, "Go, go, go do your business."
The interrogation room was filled with a pungent, bloody smell, so strong it was almost nauseating.
As soon as they entered, someone came up to him to report. He only glanced at Su Yuxi briefly and didn't ask her anything.
"Master, we can't get anything out of him. He's too stubborn." Even when he was tortured to the point of barely having a breath left, he still refused to utter a single word.
Fu Huaijin appeared particularly aloof under the cold light. He released Su Yuxi's hand, walked slowly to the cross, and gently lifted the drooping head with his fingers. A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes the moment he saw the face.
Although I had some expectations, I was still a little shocked when I actually saw this face.
This face, from its shape and contours to the strands of hair, and even the serene expression emanating from its closed eyes, was exactly like mine.
It looks so much like him, it's practically a perfect copy.
A replica?
He murmured to himself, "This little trick isn't impossible for them."
"If you can't get the answer, just kill him." Fu Huaijin's eyes were filled with a chilling ferocity. The thought of this person trying to use his face to taint his Xixi made him want to chop him up and feed him to the dogs.
To outsiders, seeing them with the same face, yet speaking the word "kill" to another face, feels strangely incongruous.
But it would be really uncomfortable to have someone else wearing the same face.
At this moment, the bound man slowly opened his heavy eyelids. Their eyes met. When the fake Fu saw Fu Huaijin, he was momentarily confused. After realizing who was in front of him, a contemptuous sneer appeared on his lips, as if everything was within his expectations.
"What a pity, I was just a little bit away from escaping."
Fu Huaijin released his fingers from his face and wiped them with disgust: "You can't escape. You hurt my woman, and you can't get away no matter where you are."
The fake Fu looked past him to Su Yuxi behind him, a faint, ambiguous smile playing on his lips, his voice full of regret: "That's not necessarily true. If it weren't for Xixi, perhaps the outcome would have been different."
From the moment he was recognized, things began to go awry.
Fu Huaijin took a step to the left, blocking his gaze that was coveting Su Yuxi. He exuded a great deal of ferocity, wishing he could kill him right now.
What is your purpose?
The fake Fu chuckled softly, "Didn't you already guess? My first mission failed, and I'm caught. I admit defeat. Do with me as you please."
"Master, let's wait for Doctor Chu to arrive. He previously researched a medicine that can make people wish they were dead."
The counterfeit chuckled contemptuously, its laughter filled with disdain: "It's useless. My body feels no pain. No matter what punishment you inflict on me, it won't cause me the slightest ripple."
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone frowned. No wonder he didn't utter a sound no matter what punishments they inflicted on him.
It is very difficult to interrogate someone who has no sensory nerves using external force.
"Let me give it a try." Su Yuxi said casually from behind. Although she didn't know if it would work, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.
All eyes turned to her.
Fu Huaijin shook his head with a gloomy face: "No need. People like that are an eyesore. Just kill them."
“Master, this person has many secrets. It would be a waste to kill him like this.”
Su Yuxi stepped forward and gently tugged at Fu Huaijin's sleeve, her eyes gleaming with pleading: "It's okay, just let me try. Wouldn't it be better if I actually found out something?"
Fu Huaijin finally softened when he met her soft, melting eyes: "What do you want to do?"
Su Yuxi turned her gaze to the counterfeit goods, a confident smile playing on her lips: "I know hypnosis, I can give it a try."
Upon hearing this, the person next to him looked gloomy and felt a sense of loss: "It's no use. We've tried our best hypnotist, but his mind is exceptionally resilient. No matter what hypnotic techniques we use, we can't budge him in the slightest."
This person seems to have been meticulously designed, making them immune to all poisons.
Su Yuxi stared at the fake product: "Mine is hypnosis, an ancestral secret technique. It might work, though."
"Just let me try." She turned her gaze back to Fu Huaijin, realizing that no matter how much she talked to them, it was less effective than the man beside her nodding.
Fu Huaijin stared intently into her determined eyes, and finally could only nod, which was considered as agreeing to her request.
