Su Yuxi pursed her lips, lowered her eyes, and her curled eyelashes trembled slightly, as if she had some doubts about his statement.
When she was little, if others bullied her and she couldn't fight back, she would ask her great-grandmother for help. She didn't know how her great-grandmother would do it, but the next day, the friends who bullied her would sheepishly bring her their little treasures and apologize.
She doesn't know if this kind of tit-for-tat, tenfold retaliation approach is right or wrong.
She pulled her hand away from his and turned to walk downstairs without saying a word.
Fu Huaijin frowned slightly, rubbed his empty hands together, and stared intently in the direction she had left, then looked down at the commotion below.
Su Yuxi strolled leisurely to the shade of the tree and quietly watched as the BMW was driven away, mocked, and ravaged.
Sunlight filtered through the sparse leaves like fine gold foil, scattering across her body, the dappled light and shadow making her face appear almost unreal.
She watched as the BMW, now wrecked from several crushing collisions, was still desperately trying to escape, clinging to any sliver of hope for survival in the narrow gaps between the vehicles.
The man's face was covered in blood, but his eyes, though shrouded in a bloody mist, were incredibly resolute. His aura was like that of a warrior on the battlefield who refused to yield, determined to fight his way out even when trapped in dire straits.
She seemed to be able to sense the immense pain and despair the person inside the car was enduring. He wanted to stop the person behind him, but he was not strong enough. Several times he tried to resist, but he found that he could do nothing but run away desperately.
Looking at the wrecked vehicle and the lone man covered in bright red blood, Su Yuxi felt a sudden, sharp pain in her heart, as if touched by something.
She crouched down uncomfortably, trying to relieve the unfamiliar stinging pain, when a wave of dizziness washed over her, and a strange and shocking scene suddenly appeared before her eyes.
The abandoned training ground has vanished, replaced by a dense forest stained with blood. Everywhere you look is crimson, littered with the severed limbs and remains of animals. The air is thick with the stench of blood, and the surroundings are deathly silent, devoid of any sign of life.
Her shoulders felt as if they were being suppressed by an invisible force, and her limbs were bound by chains, making it impossible for her to stand up. Her breathing became increasingly rapid, and her heart contracted and expanded rapidly. With a thud, a piercing pain shot through her heart, as if something had snapped, causing her face to turn deathly pale.
Su Yuxi pinched her heart with her fingers, her body gradually becoming unsteady, and a certain voice echoed in her ears.
The man in the car noticed the commotion and glanced over casually, only to meet Su Yuxi's pained and empty gaze. He simply looked away indifferently and continued his stubborn struggle.
Fu Huaijin walked over quickly, holding an umbrella. When he saw her squatting on the ground, he realized something was wrong and immediately quickened his pace to her side. Only then did he see her pale face.
His eyes narrowed, and he pulled her into his arms. He could feel her body trembling slightly, her small hands icy cold, clearly indicating she had been frightened: "Xixi, what's wrong?"
"Don't look, if you're scared, don't look." He thought she was frightened by the bloody scene in front of her.
Su Yuxi nestled in a warm embrace, the noise around her disappeared, replaced by the pounding of a man's heart, and the terrifying scene from before was abruptly cut off.
Her hands trembled as she gripped that slightly cool, large hand tightly, as if she had grasped a lifeline and was unwilling to let go.
"It's alright now."
"Don't be afraid."
Fu Huaijin waved to the people in the distance, and the people in the driving range immediately stopped their cars and quickly dragged the bloodied man out. In just over ten seconds, the parking lot became silent.
Su Yuxi adjusted her breathing slightly, slowly raised her eyes to look at the man in front of her, the fear from before still lingering in her eyes.
"It's alright! You're not hurt." Fu Huaijin gently stroked her long hair, patiently comforting her. He felt a pang of regret. She was just a young girl, and he had been too hasty. He only wanted her to enter his world, but he hadn't considered whether she could handle it.
"I'm not watching anymore."
"I won't watch it anymore."
"Let's go back."
Su Yuxi didn't speak. She stood up with his help and let him hold her. She couldn't see anything clearly, and everything around her became just a blurry outline.
A gust of wind blew by, and she seemed to see a familiar figure under a big tree not far away. She reached out her hand to go over, but her mouth was too tired to make a sound, so she could only let Fu Huaijin carry her away.
Su Yuxi didn't know how she got home. When she fully regained consciousness, she heard a text message on her phone reminding her to unfreeze.
Her money came back.
Why couldn't she be happy looking at that string of numbers representing wealth?
Su Yuxi gently touched her chest, where it felt like there was a small hole, and a cool breeze seemed to be blowing through her chest, making her very uncomfortable.
She shook her head, trying to shake off the lingering sense of daze, feeling as if she had forgotten something.
She tried hard to recall, but couldn't remember anything. She spent two days in a daze until the strange feeling in her heart subsided, and she completely forgot about that day, and her mind returned to normal.
Just then, Wan Qianqian called. As soon as the call connected, an excited shout came from the other end: "Xixi, was it your man who did it? Was it him?"
Su Yuxi looked up at Fu Huaijin, who was drinking his medicine, and asked in confusion, "What?!"
Wan Qianqian assumed she hadn't received the news yet, but now she couldn't wait to tell her: "Didn't you know? This morning, Lu Yunzhou's company was vandalized, and many of his orders fell through."
"That's too violent, oh no, that's too explosive." Usually, when people mess with someone, they either beat them up or ruin their business, but no one actually goes and smashes up their company.
"Moreover, everyone in the industry knows that after Lu Yunzhou broke up with you, he even sued you to get back the gifts and money you had given him."
People in their circle are not short of money; they've all had many girlfriends, but this is the first time I've seen someone go to court to recover money after a breakup.
Now, people in various groups are condemning Lu Yunzhou for being a despicable and narrow-minded person, unworthy of being a man. After all, she had been with him for three years, and now that they've broken up, he's demanding the gifts back.
Back when they were together, Lu Yunzhou treated her like royalty, giving her whatever she wanted. But after they broke up, his ugly side was revealed.
Besides disapproving of his actions, people also felt compelled to feign sympathy for Su Yuxi, now Fu Huaijin's girlfriend, in order to gain her favor.
"Oh no, something's not right." Wan Qianqian was scrolling through her phone when another message popped up.
"Xixi, you play by yourself for a bit, I'll go find out what's going on."
After she hung up the phone, she immediately opened the photos in the group chat. Before they had even finished cursing Lu Yunzhou, she saw a photo of Lu Yunzhou lying in the emergency room, along with a remittance slip for 1.2 billion yuan transferred from Fu Huaijin's account.
The accompanying text also included the phrase, "One life for 1.2 billion."
