Chapter 304 The person who can save Xixi and the child has never been me.

"Huh?" Su Yuxi was slightly confused. She felt that Azu's behavior today was quite unusual, and she didn't know why he was so persistent about these difficult questions.

"Can't we choose them all?"

Xuan Yin shook his head slightly, his eyes filled with determination, as if he was determined to find a clear answer today.

Su Yuxi scratched her head in frustration. How was she supposed to answer this? All three of them were her closest relatives: one was the one who raised her, one was her partner, and the other was the one who was about to raise her. No matter which one she chose, she felt she would have regrets.

Xuan Yin didn't rush her, letting her carefully consider it in her mind: "Think it over slowly, and answer when you've thought it through."

A faint sense of loss inexplicably welled up inside me; I had thought I would hold an important place in this girl's heart...

"I will choose Azu." Su Yuxi made up her mind and gave her answer.

Xuan Yin's eyes brightened slightly, his joy evident on his face, and he blurted out the question: "Why? Do you like Azu a little more?"

"Yes, my great-grandmother is the best to me and has spent the most time with me. Without her, I wouldn't be who I am today. If I really had to choose, I would choose her."

She's not an ingrate; how could she abandon the person who raised her?

Xuan Yin didn't know whether to cry or laugh.

This little girl really knows how to distinguish right from wrong.

If someone treats you well, they'll put you first; if someone treats you badly, no matter how long they've been with you, they'll kick you out immediately.

But that wasn't the answer he wanted.

Su Yuxi secretly glanced at Xuan Yin, wondering to herself whether he was satisfied with her answer.

"If..." Xuan Yin wanted to ask again, but Su Yuxi suddenly jumped up from the spot: "Grandpa, I'll go outside to find a way out and find you some herbs. You rest here for a while."

After saying that, he ran away in a flash. She was really afraid that Ah Zu would give her something else to choose from. These questions were too difficult, and she didn't want to make any more choices.

Xuan Yin watched her flee in a panic, his eyes lowered, and the smile on his face vanished completely.

"Have you heard enough?" His voice turned cold and serious, a stark contrast to his gentle and soothing tone just moments before.

Fu Huaijin, who had been hiding in the corner listening to the whole thing, slowly walked out and looked in the direction where the figure had disappeared. His heart was filled with mixed emotions that were hard to describe.

Xuan Yin glanced at him sideways, then leaned against the wall, closed his eyes to rest: "Did you hear everything just now?"

Fu Huaijin responded in a hoarse voice.

When the woman he cherishes most answers that she doesn't know if he loves her, it's impossible not to feel heartbroken.

Xuan Yin suddenly opened his eyes, his sharp gaze fixed on Fu Huaijin's face, not missing a single expression: "So, do you still love Xixi like this?"

"Love." Fu Huaijin replied quickly and decisively, without the slightest hesitation. He wouldn't waver in loving someone if she didn't reciprocate with equal affection.

He cannot force other people's hearts, but he can control his own emotions.

Xuan Yin curled his lips into a cold smile: "If one day you are required to willingly sacrifice your life to save them, mother and child, will you be willing?"

"willing."

Fu Huaijin gave his answer almost instantly after he finished speaking.

Xuan Yin pressed her pale lips together tightly, staring intently at him, trying to discern a hint of calculation or reluctance on his face.

But no, he really was willing.

Xuan Yin seemed to lose all his strength in an instant, and lowered his noble head.

He meditated for a long time and decided to tell him the secret hidden in his heart.

"I can't save Xixi and the child."

Fu Huaijin frowned: "Then who can save them?"

Xuan Yin raised his head, his icy blue eyes sparkling with tiny starlight, his beautiful pupils seemingly capable of drawing in one's soul.

"you……"

...

When Su Yuxi returned, she saw two men sitting not far away, both with very heavy expressions, and the atmosphere was strangely awkward.

“Aunt... Fu Huaijin.”

The two of them looked up at the same time and saw that she was holding a bag of wild fruits, a wild rabbit, a pheasant, and a fish.

Xuan Yin was still injured and it was inconvenient for him to go over.

Fu Huaijin stood up and took the things from her hands: "Don't wander around next time."

"Go and rest, I'll take care of these."

After giving his instructions, he picked up his things and walked towards the river.

Su Yuxi felt a pang of guilt; she had been thinking of escaping and had forgotten to go find this man.

The man didn't even glance at her before grabbing his things and leaving; he must be angry.

Su Yuxi walked to Xuan Yin's side and asked in a low voice, "Grandpa, do you think Fu Huaijin is angry?"

Xuan Yin had just exhausted himself and was now completely worn out. He didn't want to say a word, so he simply closed his eyes and began to rest.

Su Yuxi didn't get an answer, so she didn't ask any more questions and quietly found a place to rest.

About half an hour later, an enticing aroma of meat filled the air, and Su Yuxi's stomach began to rumble in protest. She glanced at Xuan Yin, who had his eyes closed, and decided to go check on Fu Huaijin.

She had barely left when Xuan Yin suddenly opened her eyes, watching her slightly clumsy figure disappear into the woods, before slowly closing them again.

Su Yuxi followed the scent, her steps not light, but the man in front of her seemed to be thinking about when, and when she came up behind her, Fu Huaijin did not react at all.

It wasn't until she sat down and gently nudged his leg that the man snapped out of his daze.

"Are you done yet?"

Fu Huaijin turned the roast chicken around and replied absentmindedly, "Still not good?"

Su Yuxi moved closer, leaning her weight on him, her eyes fixed on the leaping flames, the only sound the crackling of the flames filling her ears.

Suddenly, her stomach cramped, and she hissed softly, "It hurts a little."

Fu Huaijin looked down at her belly and placed a hand on it, saying, "The baby is bothering you."

Su Yuxi patted her stomach, and the pain disappeared: "I don't know, I didn't feel any kicking, it was just a sudden sharp pain."

Fu Huaijin stared intently at her stomach, and finally only said, "It's good that you're alright."

He continued roasting the pheasant in his hand.

Su Yuxi felt that the man beside her was a bit strange, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what was wrong.

So she simply stopped caring.

After they had eaten their fill, the people who were supposed to meet them arrived.

The group hurriedly left the jungle and then transferred directly to a flight to Yun City.

Su Yuxi felt dizzy the whole way, and was so sleepy that she couldn't keep her eyes open after boarding the plane. She didn't even notice how many people had boarded the plane.

It wasn't until after they got off the plane that they realized Fu Huaijin hadn't followed.

She stared blankly at the empty space behind her, her face filled with confusion and bewilderment: "Grandma, where is Fu Huaijin?"

“He has business in Shengjing and will come to see you in a few days.” Xuan Yin stopped and looked at the blue sky, speaking in a deep voice.

Su Yuxi asked in surprise, "Are you here in Yun City?"
