James's eyes were sharp as an eagle's, and he raised his hand slightly, bringing the person in the shadows into the open.
He was resolute in his stance, determined to eliminate all the scum who wanted to get in. As long as they were there, none of these people would be able to step inside.
In an instant, the atmosphere between the two sides became tense, and a fierce confrontation began, with a strong smell of gunpowder filling the air.
The situation inside is getting worse.
Now even the security cameras inside the house have been deliberately destroyed, so there's no way to see what's going on inside, and nobody knows what has become of Fu Huaijin.
Everyone was in a panic, but Su Yuxi calmly covered her lower abdomen, quietly listening to the sounds inside.
She could clearly hear Fu Huaijin trying his best to suppress his roars, smashing things in a fit of rage, occasionally accompanied by the sound of sharp weapons slicing through the air. His body was breaking down and mutating, his rationality was being devoured little by little, and he might soon become a creature that was neither human nor ghost.
"Is there really no way out?" Chu Juan stared intently at the tightly closed door, his mind entangled with countless worries that he could not shake off.
"Yes, I have."
Chu Juan looked at her with hopeful eyes.
"I need to go in and take a look first."
Chu Juan fell silent again, his brows furrowing and relaxing, his face displaying a complex array of expressions, as if he were going through a fierce internal struggle.
In the end, his brother's safety prevailed over reason.
He nodded slowly, a determined glint in his eyes: "Alright, we'll bring a team to go in with you."
Su Yuxi rolled her eyes inwardly: "I'll go in myself, you guys wait outside."
"No way." Chu Juan's words of refusal came out without hesitation, his tone filled with unwavering determination. Going in alone was no different from suicide; there was no point in even thinking about it.
"Then you go in, I'll wait outside, and I'll go in after you come out."
Chu Juan: "!"
Others: "!"
Chu Juan took a deep breath, his brows furrowed with exhaustion: "We went in with you to protect you. Given the current situation, don't be reckless."
"I don't need protection." Su Yuxi firmly crossed them out.
"If you want me to go in and help him, then you can't go in. If you go in, I won't be able to help him."
"That's the situation. The choice is yours."
“But you…” Chu Juan hesitated, unable to finish his sentence.
Su Yuxi patted her belly, which wasn't showing at all, and nudged forward slightly: "The baby says Mommy can handle it all by herself."
Everyone was once again rendered speechless by her nonsensical words, exchanging bewildered glances, filled with helplessness and confusion. They were clearly trying to protect her.
Because of Su Yuxi's insistence, and with time running out, they had no time to persuade her and could only do as Su Yuxi asked.
No matter what, their master is still the most important.
Although Chu Juan agreed not to go inside, he still had to ensure her safety to the greatest extent possible: "I've placed two cell phones, a walkie-talkie, and a bugging device on you."
Everything that can be heard is contained within her.
"If you notice anything unusual, shout loudly and get out immediately."
Su Yuxi nodded perfunctorily, packed her things, and followed him to the front door.
They first listened carefully at the door to make sure there were no unusual sounds inside, then signaled to the three staff members to use the key and fingerprint to open the heavy door.
As soon as the door opened, a blast of cold air mixed with a faint smell of blood rushed out, and the expressions of the group changed instantly. They suddenly regretted agreeing to let Su Yuxi in.
Su Yuxi didn't care about anything else and squeezed in wherever she could. Chu Juan quickly grabbed her arm, his lips moving as he changed what he wanted to say to her into a serious admonition: "Remember, if there's any danger, come out immediately."
Su Yuxi impatiently shook off his hand: "I know."
A man rambling on and on, he's just a wolf, maybe not even a wolf, why is he acting like this is a major threat?
After shaking the person off, she slammed the door shut, completely cutting herself off from the outside world, and finally her ears could have some peace and quiet.
Before you is a long, dark corridor, at the end of which is a staircase with twenty steps.
Su Yuxi looked around and, not noticing any danger, put her cell phone, listening device, and walkie-talkie on the ground.
Want to spy on her? Dream on.
She walked down the steps with her head held high and her belly puffed out.
Once we got down there, the smell of blood became even stronger.
Su Yuxi frowned in disgust, clutching her stomach which was starting to feel nauseous, and continued walking inside, enduring the stench. She walked through a long corridor, down several steps, and finally stopped in front of the badly damaged door.
She raised an eyebrow. Even such a sturdy door had been smashed through; the destructive power was quite impressive.
Su Yuxi sneakily peeked inside. The lighting inside seemed to be a different system from the outside; it was as bright as day outside, but pitch black inside, and she couldn't see anything.
But one could smell Fu Huaijin's presence.
She stepped through the dilapidated gate, plunging herself into the darkness. Her pupils contracted sharply, and after her vision adjusted, she was soon able to see clearly what was inside.
Everything inside, whether expensive equipment or rare medicines, was scattered all over the floor and severely damaged.
Looking at the sturdy walls, they were all smashed down, exposing the steel bars inside. Everywhere you looked, there was devastation; not a single thing was intact.
It's too violent, it's unbearable to look at. If this hit a person, there wouldn't even be any fragments left.
"Fu Huaijin, where are you?" Su Yuxi called softly, her gentle voice echoing in the empty room.
The slightly heavy breathing stopped instantly.
"I'm coming in."
With a whoosh, there was a strange movement to the left front. Su Yuxi only considered it for three seconds before following the sound.
The room wasn't big, and soon Fu Huaijin was seen pitifully curled up in a corner, surrounded by a pile of broken garbage. There was a lot of blood on the ground, his clothes had been torn to shreds, and his hands and feet no longer had human characteristics. His bare back was covered with crisscrossing wounds, and blood was gushing out.
Perhaps thinking that if he curled up, others wouldn't be able to see him, he kept shrinking into the wall.
"Fu Huaijin." Su Yuxi's voice was soft, with a hint of soothing at the end. Fu Huaijin was like a wounded little animal right now, needing comfort. He must be very scared.
Fu Huaijin stiffened for a moment, feeling as if he was hallucinating again; it seemed like his Xixi had come to see him.
But no, Xixi refuses to see him or listen to him now. She can't come here, and she shouldn't come here.
“Fu Huaijin.” Su Yuxi squatted down and placed her hand on his arm.
The warm touch made Fu Huaijin realize that the voice he had just heard might not have been a hallucination. He looked up in surprise, his vision blurred by the blood on his face. He knew who had come in just by looking at the figure.
