Chapter 139 Are you trying to break my waist?

She slowly sat on the bed, then lay down gently, pulling the blanket over her lower abdomen. Her bright eyes stared at the dark ceiling, her heart feeling heavy and suffocated, as if a large stone was pressing down on it.

She shifted uncomfortably to the side, glancing at the half-empty bed, her brows furrowing slightly, a sense of unease rising within her.

After thinking about it, I got out of bed and went to the study to take a look.

Upon opening the study door, I found the light was on and no one was inside.

For some reason, the man made a mess of the table and the floor, with papers scattered everywhere and ink spilled all over the place, as if the place had been ransacked.

Su Yuxi didn't go in to tidy up; instead, she turned and left. The unease in her heart slowly grew stronger. She quickened her pace back to her room, picked up her phone, and called Fu Huaijin.

The call went through, but no one answered for a long time.

wrong……

A faint ringing sound came from her ear, not from her phone, but seemed to be... She followed the faint sound and walked towards the balcony.

Then I saw a cell phone suddenly light up by the swimming pool downstairs.

She hung up the phone, and the ringing downstairs immediately stopped.

Su Yuxi didn't think anyone would go swimming at this time.

After thinking about it, I decided to go down and see if anything was wrong.

Su Yuxi quickly walked to the parasol by the swimming pool, looking around, trying to find the man's figure.

The surroundings were quiet, with only a gentle breeze blowing and the leaves rustling. There wasn't a single ghost in sight.

She picked up her phone from the table and glanced at it. The screen showed missed calls and some message notifications.

It really is Fu Huaijin's phone. Where is he?

Could it be that he forgot to take it? She curled her lip, picked up his phone, turned around and walked back, muttering to herself, "This man left Luo Si..."

Suddenly, Su Yuxi stopped walking. When she turned around, her gaze had inadvertently swept across the shimmering water, but she hadn't paid much attention. However, a figure flashed through her mind, and now, thinking about it... underwater...

Her pupils slowly dilated, and she suddenly turned around, her eyes flashing with panic, and quickly walked to the side of the swimming pool.

Suddenly, I saw a person standing at the bottom of the deep end of the swimming pool. His eyes were closed and his body was motionless, as if he were sleeping at the bottom of the water.

But who in their right mind would sleep standing in water?

There was another fatal problem. She slowly turned back to look at her room and roughly calculated how long it had taken her to get down here.

A person can probably hold their breath in water for about three minutes.

She's been down there for more than three minutes now.

With a splash, a bone-chilling cold swept over her entire body. By the time Su Yuxi came to her senses, she had already dived to the deepest point, her graceful figure swimming towards the hazy silhouette like a beautiful fish.

Beneath the water, the dim light cast dappled shadows. She swam through the cold blue barrier as fast as she could, reaching Fu Huaijin and peering through the water film at his deathly pale face.

There were no rising bubbles of water under his nose; he seemed to have stopped breathing, slumbering beneath the blue water.

Suppressing her shock and anxiety, Su Yuxi reached out and grabbed his arm, trying to pull him up.

The moment he touched her warm skin, the man, who had been keeping his eyes closed, suddenly opened them. To her astonishment, he swiftly grabbed Su Yuxi's arm and pulled her deeper into the water with an irresistible force, as if he wanted to take her to the bottom of the ocean with him.

Su Yuxi didn't understand why this man was pretending to be dead in the water. She came to save him, but he pulled her into the deeper water instead. How was this any different from taking her life?

This man is insane. He wants to die, why is he dragging her down with him?

Once she regained consciousness, Su Yuxi no longer held back and started punching and kicking him, struggling frantically to break free from his grip.

Fu Huaijin remained unmoved, letting her kick and struggle. With the great water resistance, her force was like a tickle to Fu Huaijin, utterly harmless. Instead, he seized the opportunity, using his strong arms to wrap around her waist, tightly binding her to his side and preventing her from swimming upwards.

He had been thinking about a question for a while but couldn't find the answer, and now he finally figured it out.

Su Yuxi made a gurgling sound as a string of bubbles rose from her mouth, and she was cursing wildly in her heart.

She was truly fucking regretful. She had jumped in to save him because she was afraid he would drown, but now she wished she could kill him with a knife.

In a moment of distraction, Su Yuxi seemed to feel a soft yet cold touch, which had somehow covered her lips.

She suddenly woke up with a start, and when she realized what it was, her eyes widened in horror. Time seemed to freeze at that moment, and she forgot to struggle for a moment.

Su Yuxi's breath-holding ability was relatively good, but at this moment she felt as if she were lacking oxygen. Her lungs were being choked by an invisible force, and oxygen was rapidly leaking out, making her feel like she could suffocate and die at any moment.

Only the sound of her heart beating like a drum proved that she was still alive.

Just as Su Yuxi was about to breathe her last, the man in the water finally lifted her to the surface, freeing her from the water's grasp.

Fu Huaijin easily lifted her onto the shore, his hands still tightly gripping her waist, giving her no chance to escape.

Su Yuxi's hands trembled slightly as she supported herself on the ground, her breath still ragged. Water droplets slid down her rosy cheeks, mingling with her wet hair, making her look even more delicate and pitiful.

It was already bedtime for her, and when she came downstairs, she was only wearing a thin silk nightgown. The clothes clung to her skin, outlining her vulnerability and dishevelment at that moment.

After everyone had fully recovered, Su Yuxi looked at the man who was looking at her at eye level, and a nameless fire welled up in her heart. She pursed her lips, raised her arm high, and a loud clapping sound rang out in the quiet night.

Someone got a solid slap to the face.

I don't know if it hurt, but the sound was really loud.

She truly felt that the man in front of her had gone too far, and she could no longer tolerate it.

Why? Why? This man not only dragged her around like that, but he also dared to kiss her. That's too much!

Fu Huaijin pressed the tip of his tongue against the side of his face that had been slapped, feeling his cheek swell and burn. However, he did not mind the slap and his eyes did not show any anger. Instead, contrary to his usual behavior, he looked at the sulking Su Yuxi with gentle eyes.

Su Yuxi regretted it as soon as she hit her. She had been blinded by anger and had hit her hard. Her palm was still numb, so you can imagine how painful it must have been when the slap landed on her face.

Looking at the red marks on his cheek, she couldn't help but feel a little scared. What if he hit her back? This man was very strong; one slap from him could send her flying.

She was already thinking about whether or not to apologize, but when her eyes met his again, her lips, which had just opened, froze, and she suddenly shivered.

Is this man... possessed by a ghost? Or has he been driven mad by his own slap?

Why are you staring at her like that?

Are they going to eat people?

Su Yuxi lifted her buttocks and carefully moved backward, but as soon as she made a move, she didn't realize she had touched a sensitive nerve in the man. The hand pinching her waist tightened a little, and she gasped in pain, unable to help but shout angrily, "What are you doing? Are you trying to break my waist?"
