She slowly backed away, each step cautious, her eyes filled with vigilance.
After retreating to a safe distance, he slowly squatted down and looked down at the bottom of the car.
The car has a high chassis, so you can easily see that there's something underneath it.
Something that flashes a faint red light is something most people wouldn't even notice.
She didn't know what that thing was. According to the logic in the movie, the one below was either a locator or a bomb.
This thing wasn't there when she arrived.
That means someone put it there while she was going up the mountain.
Thinking this way, she also smelled the scents of other people in the air.
Lingyou sensed the tension in the air and poked his head out to ask, "What's wrong?"
Su Yuxi stepped back a little further before saying, "Someone may have put something in the car."
"Who? When?"
"have no idea."
The weasel shook its little head and looked around. Wasn't this the time to put it to good use?
It jumped off Su Yuxi's shoulder and darted into the bushes. Not long after, it ran back to report its battle report: "I found out from those little things that not long after we went in, a car followed us up. They fiddled around the car for a long time, I don't know what they were doing."
"Maybe we shouldn't take this car."
Who knows what someone might have added to it? What if there's danger?
Su Yuxi frowned, put her hands on her hips, and looked gloomy. Who was trying to harm her again? Why was this person always haunting her?
"Leave the car here for now, and we'll have someone come and check it tomorrow."
Once we find him, we'll skin him alive.
Without their car, they were forced to walk down the mountain.
Su Yuxi was filled with resentment and held her breath. Even though the mountain road was winding, she walked exceptionally fast and reached the road in just over half an hour.
I thought being followed and assassinated was the worst I could ever be, but that wasn't the worst thing that ever happened.
When she got to the main road, she thought of calling home to ask them to send another car, but when she got to the side of the road, her phone still had no signal.
As luck would have it, a passing car stopped in front of us.
The driver saw Su Yuxi, a beautiful woman alone, so he stopped in front of her, rolled down the window, and started talking to her.
"Young lady, why are you alone so late? Would you like to come up? I'll give you a ride."
Seeing that the driver was a woman in her forties, Su Yuxi wasn't worried. She put away her phone and said thank you gently, "Thank you for your help. My phone has no signal. Please drop me off in the city and I'll pay you the fare later."
"No need, it's just a small favor."
Su Yuxi secretly sized up the woman's clothes in front of her. She didn't know if they were new styles, but she knew they were brand names.
The car wasn't cheap, so they probably wouldn't mind spending a few dozen more.
She didn't really refuse.
The vehicle was traveling at a constant speed on the road.
"Young lady, are you a local mountain dweller? Why are you still in the mountains so late at night?"
"I heard that the Ailao Mountains are very dangerous. Several groups of geologists went in before, and they all died tragically."
"There are rumors that there are demons that have taken human form deep in the Ailao Mountains. They prey on those who trespass into the forest and absorb their life essence. I don't know if it's true."
Su Yuxi paused in her fumbling with her phone, then looked up at her: she wanted to say that it was utter nonsense, that the sisters were just lying to people, and that they would never drain people's life force.
"I don't know. I'm here as a tourist. I just wandered around the outside a couple of times and got lost. It does look quite dangerous inside."
The woman smiled, neither confirming nor denying her words, but she said that coming for tourism was absolutely out of the question.
Who travels empty-handed, without bringing anything?
"Perhaps."
"Are you thirsty? Would you like some water?" The woman took a bottle of water from the front and handed it to Su Yuxi.
With the water handed to her, Su Yuxi could only take it and say, "Thank you."
She happened to be a little thirsty.
She didn't put up much of a guard up against this kind and educated woman, and took a sip straight from the cap.
Su Yuxi paused as soon as the water entered her mouth.
Her gentle gaze instantly turned cold, and out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at the person in the driver's seat and noticed that this woman had been observing her every move.
Seeing her drink the water, the woman's lips curled up slightly, revealing a triumphant smile.
Su Yuxi didn't immediately expose her, and swallowed the saliva without showing any emotion.
She didn't drink a second sip, screwed the cap back on, and put it aside.
He glanced at the signal on his phone one last time, said nothing, stopped playing games, closed his eyes, and pretended to rest.
After a short while, she clearly felt that the car should speed up, and the car was also deviating from its original path.
About half an hour later, the car stopped.
The vehicles hidden in the shadows all surrounded the car when they saw it stop.
The woman in the driver's seat glanced back at the sleeping Su Yuxi, her kindness gone, replaced by utter disdain.
Someone knocked on the car window, and the woman in the driver's seat looked away and opened the car door.
"How about it."
The woman chuckled, pressed her body against him, and said coquettishly, "Just a little girl, I coaxed her into the car with just a few words, and she's sleeping right now."
"What should we do now?"
"Would arresting her really threaten Fu Huaijin into coming?"
"This girl doesn't seem to be anything special. A car came by late at night, and she just got in without any challenge."
The man's eyes flashed with a sharp light as he raised his hand to push away the woman clinging to him: "You don't need to worry about this. You just need to do your own thing."
The man waved to the bodyguard behind him: "Bring him out."
"Yes." The two men stepped forward and opened the car door.
However, to their surprise, Su Yuxi had her eyes open.
He also overheard their entire conversation.
She knew it; how could someone like her, who rarely leaves her home, offend anyone?
Originally, she was looking for a man to settle scores with, but in the end, she ended up targeting her.
This group of people is really funny. They say that every wrong has its perpetrator and every debt its debtor. They're pinning the blame on Fu Huaijin for the sins she committed. Does she look that easy to bully?
Su Yuxi curled her lips into a cold smile, waved to the bewildered bodyguard, indicating that she could leave.
She got out of the car with a spirited expression, first looking around at everyone. Good, these people were all strong and tall, and they were carrying weapons. Did they want to talk business or fight?
The woman standing at the front of the car was also surprised for a moment when she saw that Su Yuxi's mind was not affected in the slightest. She had watched Su Yuxi drink the water with her own eyes. The water contained a sufficient amount of hallucinogenic drugs, so it was impossible for her to wake up in a short time.
Su Yuxi showed no fear on her fair face. She crossed her arms and looked arrogant, despising those who harbored malicious intentions in secret.
"Tell me, what's your purpose in following me, smuggling things into my car, and tricking me into getting in?"
The man squinted and stared at her for a while, then chuckled softly, "Miss Su, don't be nervous, it's nothing serious."
"There are some things that I haven't discussed with Mr. Fu yet. I would like to ask Miss Su to call Mr. Fu and ask him to come over. There are some things that need to be resolved."
