Chapter 3: Teaching Him to Be a Good Dog

Chapter 3 Teaching Him to Be a Good Dog

"Xiaoyu, wake up, did you have a nightmare?" A familiar yet disgusting voice rang in her ears.

When Yan Songyu woke up, she saw an enlarged, hypocritical smiling face in front of her.

"Is Feifei the name you chose for your daughter?" Jiang Chengli asked with a smile.

Yan Songyu raised her hand and slapped him across the face. How could he be worthy of mentioning Feifei? How could he be worthy!

Snap—

Jiang Chengli received a solid slap, which was exceptionally loud. The doctors and nurses who came in for rounds were stunned by the slap.

He covered his face in astonishment, clearly burning with anger, but still managed a smile, his voice even gentler, "Xiaoyu, are you still half asleep?"

Yan Songyu backed away as if trying to get away from something dirty, saying, "Stay away from me."

"What's wrong, Xiaoyu? Did I make you angry?" Jiang Chengli asked, somewhat at a loss.

Yan Songyu has always been gentle and considerate in relationships, so this slap was really unexpected.

"Didn't you hear me tell you to stay away from me?" Yan Songyu suddenly became agitated. "I suffered so much during my 10 months of pregnancy, the pain of childbirth lasted a whole day, and I'm still in pain now. It's all your fault!"

She went berserk and smashed everything she could get her hands on, including pillows, cups, kettles, fruit, and a bouquet of flowers that Jiang Chengli had bought early that morning. Jiang Chengli covered his head and dodged and retreated.

The doctor quickly stepped forward to comfort her, "Ms. Yan, you have just given birth and your body is still very weak. You can't get too excited. Lie down and let me examine you."

The nurse pushed Jiang Chengli out, saying, "Mr. Jiang, please wait outside and don't upset Ms. Yan any further."

Jiang Chengli habitually closed his eyes, suppressing his anger and embarrassment, and then asked with a gentle and worried expression, "Xiaoyu... what's wrong with my wife?"

"Let's wait for the doctor's examination. However, in my experience, Ms. Yan's personality has changed drastically, and she is most likely suffering from postpartum depression."

Postpartum depression?

Jiang Chengli was speechless, unsure how to express his feelings. What did Xiaoyu have to be depressed about?

"Anyway, you family members should be more understanding, especially you. Cooperate well with the patient's treatment, and care for and accompany her more. Childbirth really does cause great damage to a woman's physical and mental health."

Jiang Chengli waited anxiously outside. When the doctor came out, Yan Binghua also arrived. He had lost his wife early in life and raised his daughter like a precious treasure all by himself. He would worry for half a day if she lost a single hair. Now that he learned that his daughter was suffering from postpartum depression, he felt like tearing Jiang Chengli to pieces.

"Doctor, how is my daughter?"

"Mr. Yan, the preliminary diagnosis is that Ms. Yan is indeed suffering from postpartum depression, and she will need proper treatment in the future."

Yan Binghua glared at Jiang Chengli before hurrying inside to check on Yan Songyu. Jiang Chengli hesitated for a moment before following him in.

Yan Songyu nestled in Yan Binghua's arms and cried incessantly, as if she had suffered some great injustice.

The nanny, Aunt Liu, quickly comforted her, "Oh dear, my lady, you mustn't cry. Crying during your postpartum period will hurt your eyes."

"Yes, sweetie, don't cry anymore." Yan Binghua wiped away her tears. "You were so brave yesterday, little one. You gave birth to a little baby, just like you when you were little, so cute."

"Miss, I made you crucian carp and tofu soup today, it's so delicious." Aunt Liu said with a smile as she opened the thermos.

“I’ll do it, Aunt Liu,” Jiang Chengli volunteered.

Aunt Liu didn't say anything and moved aside; Jiang Chengli's performance had always been good.

Jiang Chengli scooped up a spoonful of fish soup, blew on it a few times, and fed it to Yan Songyu's lips. "Xiaoyu, have a sip."

Yan Songyu looked at his hypocritical smile, her disgust undisguised. She shoved the scalding fish soup into his arms and yelled, "Get out!"

The fish soup was brought over in a hurry by Aunt Liu, who had just put it into a thermos as soon as it came out of the pot. Jiang Chengli's chest was instantly scalded with blisters.

Yan Songyu glanced at the disheveled Jiang Chengli, showing no remorse whatsoever, but rather disgust, "Disgusting!"

Yan Binghua just frowned and waved his hand, "Go find a doctor to treat the injury quickly." After saying that, he turned back to continue to worry about whether his precious daughter had been burned.

When Jiang Chengli came out with a gloomy face, he ran into Feng Yu. Feng Yu looked at him, who was covered in a mess and still carrying his clothes, and subtly curled the corner of his mouth. "Mr. Jiang."

"Feng Yu, you're here to see your dad, right? He's in the hospital visiting Xiaoyu."

"Mr. Jiang should see a doctor as soon as possible," Feng Yu kindly advised.

During her hospitalization, Yan Songyu's postpartum depression worsened, and this happened several more times.

As soon as Jiang Chengli left Yan Songyu, he cried and complained that she hadn't spent time with him. When she saw him, she hit and scolded him. When he sobered up, he apologized, but then she continued to hit and scold him. The slap marks on Jiang Chengli's face never faded. He could hear people talking about him even when he went to the bathroom.

"That man in the VIP room looks like a live-in son-in-law. His wife beats and scolds him, but he doesn't dare to talk back."

"Ha~ You laugh at someone for being a coward, but do you even know who that person is?"

"The VIP room is occupied by Yan Binghua's daughter, the economic leader of Haishi. If she stomps her foot, Haishi will tremble. If I could get close to Yan Binghua's daughter, I'd be willing to let anyone shit or piss on my head."

"Really? I can do that too, but I don't have that face like hers."

"So we can't get that kind of free meal."

"But... how do you know that the son-in-law doesn't have excrement or urine on his head?"

...

Jiang Chengli clenched his fists in the cubicle. After a while, as the voices outside faded into the distance, he came out and straightened his clothes in front of the mirror, but he couldn't hide the gloom in his eyes.

It snowed for three days, and even after the sky cleared, the cold wind continued to howl.

From the hospital entrance to the car, a distance of only three meters, Yan Binghua wrapped Yan Songyu up in layers of clothing before carrying her out of the house.

Yan Songyu nestled comfortably in her father's arms. As she passed Zhou Yue, she glanced at the tattered basket at Zhou Yue's feet. In the dead of winter, a baby wrapped only in a layer of old clothes was left on the snow, its little face turning purple from the cold, crying loudly. Zhou Yue, however, paid no attention, her gaze following the swaddled baby in Aunt Liu's arms.

In the car, Yan Songyu looked through the window at Zhou Yue, who was staring at her car with tears in her eyes, and a sarcastic sneer appeared on her lips.

Back at the Yan family home, Yan Songyu was still carried back to her room by Yan Binghua.

The nursery had been prepared long ago, and Yan Songyu carefully checked it over herself before feeling at ease. The nannies were the same two from her previous life, and they were very responsible.

However... Yan Songyu's good mood ended after she returned to her room, because Jiang Chengli was leaning against the bed.

As soon as he saw Yan Songyu, he quickly and gently called out, "Xiaoyu, come and lie down to rest. Aunt Liu said that standing for too long during postpartum confinement will cause back pain."

Yan Songyu smiled sarcastically, thinking, "What a gentle and devoted husband!"

Since she became pregnant, Jiang Chengli has kept a thick pregnancy notebook, remembering all the precautions clearly. He would wake up in the middle of the night to pour her water and massage her without a single complaint. Even Yan Binghua, who had never really approved of him, noticed this and began to approve of him more and more.

In her past life, she foolishly believed in his "sincere heart," but unfortunately, her sincerity was wasted!

Jiang Chengli never forgets to maintain his image as a good husband. He came over and helped Yan Songyu up, saying, "Be good, listen to me, go lie down in bed. After your confinement period, you can do whatever you want..."

Snap—

Yan Songyu grabbed a vase from the cabinet and smashed it down on her head.

She has to go crazy, or she'll go crazy on her own!

Jiang Chengli had a cut on his forehead, and blood flowed down his brow bone and slid to the corner of his eye like a tear of blood. He immediately closed his eyes, afraid that he would not have time to hide the malice and hatred in them.

"Oh my god!" Aunt Liu heard the noise and ran over to see what was happening. She quickly pulled Jiang Chengli away. "Mr. Jiang, come with me to treat your wound."

Jiang Chengli let Aunt Liu pull him away, because this was the Yan family home, and he was Mr. Jiang.

Heh~

hatred?

Yan Songyu sneered. What right did he have to hate her or the Yan family?

Since he was born with a heart of stone, she'll teach him to be a good dog for the rest of his life!
