Chapter 130 Xia Mingyang's Fate
Xia Mingyang lay on the ground in despair, waiting to die. This was definitely not an accident. He had not offended anyone except Han Jie.
Only Han Jie could afford to take such a large-scale attack against him. He must have known about his plan, which is why he struck first.
Before losing consciousness, Xia Mingyang had a moment of regret. If he hadn't tried to get close to Yan Feifei, he wouldn't have been targeted and warned by Han Jie. He wouldn't have wanted to take revenge on Han Jie, resulting in Han Jie breaking his hands and causing him to lose his life.
Han Jie was surprised when the police came to her door. "Who did you say?"
"Xia Mingyang".
"We know each other, so what?"
"Then I'll trouble Mr. Han to come with me to the police station to cooperate with the investigation. It's just a simple questioning."
Han Jie and Fei Fei were about to go on a date, but it seems their plans are ruined. The two followed the police car to the police station and learned about Xia Mingyang's situation. He had his two arms cut off by unknown assailants and was dumped in a dilapidated warehouse in the wilderness. He was eventually found and taken to the hospital, where he remained unconscious for four days before waking up.
"So you suspect me?" Han Jie looked puzzled. "Who would be in the mood to target him? He's just a defeated opponent."
“This is the victim’s accusation against you. We have also investigated his life and confirmed that, as he said, he has never had any enemies, while you threatened him back then.”
Han Jie was speechless. "I did threaten him, I admit that. When men are courting each other, we are in a competitive relationship. It's normal for me to threaten him to get rid of his rival, right? I didn't actually take any action."
"According to the victim, you hindered him when he was looking for a job, is that right?"
"No, I've already won over my girlfriend, why would I care about a nobody who's never even been in the game? I'm just venting, I'm not a gangster." Han Jie muttered under his breath, "If I dared to bully men and women like this, my grandpa would break my legs."
The police officer listened to his mutterings, and considering Han Jie's background, asked a few more questions before ending the interrogation. "Okay, thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Han. We will contact you if we need your cooperation in any further investigations."
The police had already been aware of Han Jie's recent movements and found him to be innocent.
Han Jie was very cooperative, "Okay, you can contact me anytime."
On the way back to school, Han Jie told Fei Fei about Xia Mingyang.
Feifei was surprised, "Who did he offend? His life is ruined."
"Whether it's him or his enemies, they have nothing to do with us. But someone as wicked as him who likes to make false accusations deserves this fate."
Han Jie said that, but after sending Feifei home, he immediately had someone investigate Xia Mingyang's affairs.
"Well, he's really got some nerve! He actually had such a bold idea!" Han Jie slammed the investigation results onto the table.
"How did you obtain these survey results? While I believe in your abilities, isn't it a bit too fast?"
"Young Master, someone delivered it, but we haven't been able to find the person behind it."
"No need to look anymore." Han Jie wasn't stupid. If he hadn't thought of it at first, he should understand now that he saw this information.
The only person who would target Xia Mingyang is Yan Songyu, since Xia Mingyang is after her beloved daughter whom he cherishes. Although he has not officially met Yan Songyu yet, he has heard a lot about how much Yan Songyu dotes on her from Feifei.
The reason we're showing it to him now is because the police have contacted him, and we're just revealing his background to reduce misunderstandings.
"Since Xia Mingyang insists that I'm the one who harmed him, wouldn't this trip to the police station be a waste if I didn't let him have his way?"
Han Jie instructed his subordinates, "It doesn't matter if he loses his hand, he still has his legs. If you break his legs, I won't hold it against him for slandering me."
"Yes, young master."
So, on the way back from the check-up with the help of Sun Caiying and Xia Dahai, Xia Mingyang suddenly became emotional and attempted suicide. He jumped from the third floor and was half-dead. Although his leg was not amputated, he could no longer stand up.
Having lost both his hands and legs, Xia Mingyang was completely paralyzed and bedridden, needing to be fed and have his bodily functions taken care of. Overnight, Xia Dahai and Sun Caiying's figures became hunched over, and their hair turned gray.
Just a month ago, my son was full of vigor and a promising soon-to-be graduate. They were still dreaming about a bright future. But now...
After Xia Mingyang became paralyzed, he became neurotic and irritable, and he verbally abused Sun Caiying, who took care of him, with extremely foul language, making their already impoverished family miserable.
"It's all because you're incompetent. You can't give me a good life, so why did you bring me into this world?"
"Han Jie has ruined me so much, and all you do is cry and whine. Can't you avenge me? Go kill Han Jie! Go kill Yan Feifei! Go! If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be like this."
"Did you take money from Han Jie to avoid pursuing the matter? Did you sell me out? Aren't you afraid of retribution for doing this?"
Xia Mingyang firmly believed that Han Jie had harmed him, but he had no evidence to prove it.
Sun Caiying looked at Xia Mingyang wearily, tears streaming down her face. "Yangyang, please stop making a scene. If you keep saying that, they'll send you to a mental hospital. That's no place for a human being. Be good, Mom and Dad will take care of you for the rest of your life."
If Xia Mingyang's hand being chopped off remains an unsolved case, then his leg was broken in full view of everyone, yet he still claims that Han Jie was responsible, and the police no longer want to listen to his nonsense.
The doctors determined that Xia Mingyang had suffered a major shock due to the injury and had developed a mental illness. However, since Xia Mingyang was paralyzed in bed and could not move, he was not forced to be sent to a mental hospital.
When Yan Songyu learned of Xia Mingyang's ultimate fate, she expressed satisfaction with Han Jie. She had revealed Xia Mingyang's plans to Han Jie because she wanted to see how he would act.
When Zhou Mu learned of Xia Mingyang's fate, she felt a little sad. She was lamenting this, but little did she know that her own troubles were about to come knocking.
