Chapter 16 Oddities, Another Oddity 2

If this were in the military, there wouldn't be much of a problem. There's a strict hierarchy there, and if a veteran goes back to visit his comrades, even if all the comrades he knew have retired, the unit's commander would still greet him and welcome him back, even if they don't know each other.

But now that we've all been discharged from the military, we're all in the same boat, so it's inappropriate to continue with this attitude!

Zhang Long is very unhappy right now, but he still has to give Qiang Ge the least amount of face.

In his past life, he sought refuge with Brother Qiang twice, and Brother Qiang helped him without hesitation.

After Qiang Ge finished his introduction, Zhang Long took out cigarettes and offered them to everyone, while saying some polite words.

Surprisingly, some people actually took it seriously.

"Ah Long, you're late today. Punish yourself with three drinks before you sit down."

Zhang Long's lips twitched. He was about to grab a beer when another person said, "Ah Long, we all know you can hold your liquor. Let's drink this today."

As he spoke, he took out two glass bottles of baijiu (Chinese liquor) from his backpack.

"This is a good thing, a homemade cannon."

"These two bottles are yours tonight. If you can't finish them, don't leave!"

Zhang Long's anger level instantly surged again, and his cheeks puffed out as he spoke.

"I'm so sorry, I've already drunk it all. What will you guys drink?"

At this moment, the person sitting on the far side said, "We'll just take a small loss and have some beer."

This statement is perfectly reasonable!

At this moment, the man sitting in the middle spoke up: "Ah Long, if you contract out the purchasing station in Xijiang Province to us, you'll definitely make a fortune!"

"Don't worry about anything, with the old squad leader watching over you, you can just wait to drive luxury cars and live in big villas!"

Zhang Long simply stopped pretending and stared at the group of people with a cold, expressionless face.

"Is that what you all mean?"

These hillbillies really thought they were something special, jeering and scolding him as they went.

"Ah Long, what do you mean by this? You've changed since you left the army. Look at you now, do you still have any soldier's demeanor at all!"

"Does having money make you look down on the old squad leader?"

"If you just bow your head and admit your mistake, drink the wine, and sign this contract, we'll let this matter drop."

As she spoke, she took out a contract and handed it to him.

Qiang Ge watched this group of people from the side, feeling utterly speechless.

Zhang Long picked up the agreement and started reading it, then burst out laughing.

He turned to Qiang Ge and asked, "How much did these 'old squad leaders' drink this afternoon?"

"Now I have to say something about you. If you had just given them a plate of peanuts, they wouldn't be this drunk!"

Then, with a look of disgust, he waved his hand and left the private room as if shooing away flies.

As he walked, he said, "You're really giving me face! I'm a billionaire, and you're putting on an act for me. You can brag about it to your kids later!"

Before the words were even finished, the people inside exploded, standing up one by one and hurling nasty insults.

But these people only dared to grumble a few words; not one of them dared to make a move.

Zhang Long walked out of the private room, took out his phone, and turned off the recording.

I took a picture of the agreement with my camera and then sent it to several WeChat groups for veterans.

After finishing, he typed a message: "Don't bother me again with hillbillies like this."

I'm leaving the group; I don't know anyone in it anyway, but I'll still stay in the smaller, more familiar groups.

The two walked to the side of the parking lot, squatted on the curb, and started smoking.

"Brother Qiang, where did you find this bunch of hillbillies?"

Brother Qiang was a little embarrassed and stammered that he was Zhang Long's former instructor, but Zhang Long had already left the military when Zhang Long came.

Here's what you do: you give him a call, and I'll talk to him.

Damn it, just because I'm not showing my teeth doesn't mean I'm some kind of Hello, KT!

Hello, is this the old instructor?

I am Zhang Long!

Don’t know?

Oh, okay, xxx, xxx… I heard these hillbillies are your five tigers?

They came to Shenzhen under your name to extort money. Listen to their arrogance! I almost thought Taiwan was attacking!

He then played the recording he had just heard.

After listening to the recording, the old instructor on the other end was furious. These bastards did exactly that. They had confidently promised to take down Zhang Long.

So this is how they take Zhang Long? I really don't know what they were thinking, hiring these guys.

After looking at the photos sent by the other side, the old instructor suddenly felt exhausted. He wasn't afraid of god-like opponents, but he was afraid of a bunch of pig-like teammates.

This directly extinguished that connection between the incense offerings and the spirit of the worshipper.

This isn't about making money while standing up; it's about dying and sucking Zhang Long's blood.

Or perhaps they've taken Zhang Long for granted and can do whatever they want with him.

The old instructor on the other end of the phone apologized readily and explained, "Ah Long, my original intention was to get them to ask you for a job. Now that they've messed things up, I have no face to say anything more. As for these people, let them fend for themselves."

After saying that, he hung up the phone, and that was the end of the matter. Zhang Long didn't give them any face at all and directly chose to expose them and post their names in the group chat.

This is a helpless situation. Since a chicken is delivered to his door to be slaughtered, he has no choice but to offer some respect.

You have to be firm when dealing with these kinds of things, otherwise people will think you're weak and you'll run into endless trouble.
