Chapter 61 The Prince Consort's Prisoner (61)

Three days later, Ning Wan and Ning Mu said a simple goodbye. Looking at Ning Wan with a smile on her face, Xiao Ju felt very uncomfortable but did not show it.

As soon as Ning Wan got on the carriage, she saw the uninvited guest sitting inside.

Ning Wan looked at Shen Jingyi who was sitting upright in the car, and glanced at Ning Mu who had not left yet. Apart from seeing the familiar worry in the other's eyes, there was nothing unusual.

Shen Jingyi didn't say anything, but he didn't look panicked. He wasn't worried at all that Ning Wan would tell on him. Instead, he considerately moved his body and made room in the middle of the carriage.

"Sister, be careful!" Ning Mu was still unaware of the situation. Seeing Ning Wan standing at the front for a long time without going in, he thought that Ning Wan was reluctant to leave.

Ning Wan withdrew her gaze and tactfully did not mention Shen Jingyi's existence.

There is no need to think, everyone knows that Ning Mu cannot beat Shen Jingyi, so it is better not to continue to delay her time for fun.

After seeing Ning Wan get on the carriage, Ning Mu finally felt relieved.

Just thinking of what the owner of the visiting card had said before, Ning Mu and the coachman looked at each other briefly.

He is not stupid. How could he hand over his elder sister to the other party without hesitation just because the other party said he had an antidote? Naturally, he had to leave someone with his sister.

This coachman was naturally someone Ning Mu trusted. After receiving his master's instructions, he nodded.

Xiaoju, who was standing beside the carriage, bowed to Ning Mu and climbed onto the carriage. However, as soon as she lifted the curtain, she froze.

How could there be a third person in the carriage!

Ning Wan was afraid that Xiaoju would say something, so she quickly made a silencing gesture with her hand.

Xiaoju reacted and pretended nothing happened. She walked into the carriage, lowered the curtain, and then walked carefully to Ning Wan's side, not daring to look up at Chen Jingyi.

After seeing Xiaoju get on, the driver started driving.

Ning Mu looked at the carriage going away, and even though he felt reluctant, he calmed down.

Just at this time, Wu Qi arrived on horseback.

Seeing Ning Mu standing at the gate of the princess's mansion, he dismounted neatly, bowed, and then spoke anxiously: "Your Majesty, how is Her Royal Highness the Princess?"

Looking at Wu Qi who was arriving late, Ning Mu suddenly felt a little annoyed: How could he think that this man could protect his sister?

It has been so many days and you only remembered to care about your elder sister. The good news has been gone for quite some time.

"Sister is fine now." Ning Mu thought for a while, but did not vent her anger on Wu Qi, so she spoke in a friendly manner.

Wu Qi was relieved to hear that Ning Wan was fine. Just as he was about to go into the princess's residence to visit Ning Wan, Ning Mu stopped him.

Ning Mu saw the urgency in Wu Qi's eyes and spoke again: "Sister is no longer in the mansion. You won't be able to find her."

Wu Qi froze, then turned to look at Ning Mu again, his eyes inevitably filled with doubt.

But Ning Mu was not afraid. He did not lie and said truthfully: "Sister went to Jingguo to relax."

In order to prove that he was not lying, Ning Mu did not even hide Ning Wan's place of relaxation.

But it was this answer that made Wu Qi lose his mind, and there was a hint of condemnation in his eyes when he looked at Ning Mu.

Wu Qi couldn't figure it out, and he didn't think Ning Wan was just going there to relax.

Ning Mu: "You don't have to look at me like that. My sister wanted to go, I didn't force her, and I won't do anything to force my sister."

Ning Mu's explanation did not reassure Wu Qi. He just thought of Ning Wan's situation and asked, "Has the emperor sent anyone to protect Her Royal Highness the Princess?"

Wu Qi still couldn't deceive himself. Even though he knew that the other party might not be the princess she was before, he still couldn't bear to see her get hurt, and even regretted wanting to kill her before.

"Of course I sent someone." Ning Mu looked at the nervous Wu Qi in front of him and didn't hide anything. However, thinking of the previous events, her tone became a little heavier. "I don't need you to worry about my sister. Just take care of your own business."

After hearing Ning Mu's warning, Wu Qi was silent for a while. He looked in the direction of leaving the city. Without saying much, he just replied respectfully: "I will remember this."

After saying that, he bowed again and waited sideways.

Ning Mu didn't have much time to mess around, so he waved at Wu Qi and signaled him to leave.

Wu Qi mounted his horse again without any hesitation.

He just had an idea in his mind, and he wanted to confirm it one last time to make sure whether his princess was angry with him.

Ning Mu's gaze once again fell on Wu Qi's back.

It seemed that his elder sister had withdrawn her preference for Wu Qi. He couldn't be sure whether this result was good or bad, but as long as his elder sister was happy, it was all good.

On the other side, inside the carriage, there was peace and no sound came from it.

All that was heard was the clatter of the carriage's wheels against the ground, and the driver's occasional "Gee!"

Ning Wan leaned against the car wall, not showing any signs of nervousness. Meanwhile, Xiaoju beside her didn't even dare to breathe loudly.

It’s so quiet!

Even the coachman driving the carriage outside was very surprised. He remembered that the princess was not a quiet person, so why was there no movement this time? Even Xiaoju didn't speak to the princess.

Even though he noticed something was different from before, the driver did not rashly lift the curtain to check, nor did he ask any questions. He just drove the carriage as hard as he could.

Shen Jingyi naturally wouldn't care about Xiaoju's discomfort, but Ning Wan would.

Looking at Xiaoju, whose face was slightly red, Ning Wan said helplessly, "Xiaoju, you can breathe."

Ning Wan suspected that if she didn't speak up, Xiaoju would suffocate her to death.

After hearing Ning Wan's words, Xiaoju realized that she was too nervous. Seeing her princess's relaxed look, she cautiously glanced at Shen Jingyi, who had not done anything inappropriate from beginning to end, and her face turned even redder in an instant.

Did she bring shame upon her own princess?

But before Xiaoju could completely breathe a sigh of relief, Shen Jingyi suddenly took action.

Xiaoju immediately became defensive, pulling Ning Wan behind her, holding her breath, staring intently at Shen Jingyi, fearing that he would do something to hurt their princess.

Shen Jingyi didn't even raise his eyes to look at such a vigilant action, and he still looked calm, which made Xiaoju look like she was making a fuss out of nothing.

Ning Wan looked at Xiaoju who was on guard again, pulled her aside with her hand, and held her hand in her palm.

Shen Jingyi's gaze successfully shifted, looking at Xiaoju who was obviously afraid of him, and then looking at Ning Wan who was worried about Xiaoju. Shen Jingyi felt inexplicably irritated.

But he still restrained himself and didn't show it.
