◎ Second update Lu Ge roared: What are you doing◎
There was a "click" sound as the suitcase was placed on the ground. Chi Huai put down the suitcase and walked towards another house across the stone stairs.
"Thanks."
Lin Chaojin pushed open the gate with her suitcase in hand, and the fragrance of flowers filled the yard. There was a winding stone path in the yard leading to the hanging tower.
There are all kinds of flowers planted next to it, including roses, etc., white, red and yellow, which are very beautiful.
On the left side of the courtyard was a grape trellis, beneath which sat a wooden table and several chairs made from tree stumps. Lin Chaojin fell in love with this small courtyard at first sight.
Lin Chaojin carried her suitcase up to the second floor, found a house near the stone stairs and walked in. She opened the window in front of her and the scenery below the mountain came into view. She could see several staff members moving machines at the foot of the mountain.
There is another window on the left side of the room that looks out onto the house next door, but that window is closed now.
Lin Chaojin cleaned up the place. Fortunately, Director Zhang was not so cruel as to prepare some daily necessities for them.
Lin Chaojin made the bed and lay down to sleep.
I woke up again to the sound of knocking on the door outside the yard.
Lin Chaojin opened her eyes hazily. Through the open window, she could see half of the sun already set in the west. The warm orange sunset shone in, which was beautiful beyond words.
Lin Chaojin took a break, then got out of bed and walked out to the yard. When he opened the gate, he saw today's assistant standing outside, holding a small basket of food in his hand.
Seeing her come out, the assistant smiled and said, "Teacher Lin, Director Zhang said that filming hasn't started yet. Tonight's dinner will be provided by the production team."
"Thank you," Lin Chaojin took it. "Are these foods all raw?"
"Yeah," the assistant nodded, remembering the glorious story of the two siblings who didn't seem to know how to cook in the previous episode, and suggested, "Teacher Lin, you can find a guest to cook with you."
"Okay, thank you," Lin Chaojin nodded.
"You're welcome," the assistant said, and walked down the hill after delivering the dishes.
Lin Chaojin stood at the gate of the yard, glanced at the food in the basket, thought for a second, walked to the next door, and knocked on the door.
After a while, the sound of footsteps was heard, and the gate of the courtyard was opened with a "creak".
Lin Chaojin looked up at the person who came and picked up the basket in his hand. "Do you want to cook with me?" After saying this, Lin Chaojin remembered that they seemed to have had a similar conversation before.
Obviously Chi Huai also remembered it. After hearing her words, he raised his eyes and glanced at her lightly, then turned around and walked back without saying anything.
Lin Chaojin saw that although he didn't say anything, he didn't close the door either, so she walked in with the basket.
The layout of the yard inside was similar to hers, except that there was a well on the left, the kind where people put buckets in to draw water.
The kitchen is built in a corner next to the hanging building. The space inside is not big and the stove is the kind that burns wood.
Chi Huai was chopping meat on the chopping board. Lin Chaojin put the basket on the kitchen counter and took a look. "Is there anything you need to wash? Let me wash it."
Chi Huai glanced at her, put a few tomatoes, a handful of green vegetables, onions, garlic, etc. in a basket and handed it to her.
Lin Chaojin took it, brought it to the well and started washing it.
Chi Huai glanced at her through the window.
At this time, a voice sounded, "Jinjin, Jinjin, where are you?"
Lin Chaojin heard the voice and raised her voice to respond, "I'm here."
After a while, Xiao Chuchu appeared at the door. Seeing her washing vegetables by the well, she walked over and asked, "So you're here?"
"Hey, are you cooking with Chi Huai?" Xiao Chuchu glanced at Chi Huai through the window. "Hey, Huai Shen, you can cook too."
"Yeah," Chi Huai glanced at her and said lightly.
"I originally thought that you couldn't cook, so I asked you to come and join us. Yan Ru also asked me to invite you," Xiao Chuchu retracted her gaze and said to Lin Chaojin.
"Oh," Lin Chaojin paused while washing the vegetables and pointed at them, "No, thank you, but we have already started."
"Yeah," Xiao Chuchu nodded after hearing this, "Okay, I'll go first."
"good."
Yan Ru looked at Xiao Chuchu who walked in alone and asked calmly, "Aren't Lin Chaojin and the others coming with us?"
"Ah, them. Chi Huai seems to be able to cook, so the two of them are eating together," Xiao Chuchu said casually.
"What?" Yan Ruo suddenly raised her voice and dug her nails into the tomato she was pinching.
"Uh," Xiao Chuchu was startled by her high voice and looked at her in confusion, "What's wrong? Is there a problem?"
"It's okay," Yan Ruo pulled the corner of her mouth and smiled again.
"Oh," Xiao Chuchu looked at her and said nothing, then went into the kitchen to find her brother.
Yan Ruo stood there, clenching the tomato in her hand and frowning. What was the relationship between Lin Chaojin and Chi Huai, and why would Chi Huai actually cook for a woman?
Lin Chaojin took the washed vegetables in and set them aside. She stood there and watched him prepare the ingredients. Then she turned around and saw the stove and said, "Let me light the fire for you."
As he said this, he walked over, picked up the kindling wood, and the fire started, but when he put it in the stove and added other firewood, it went out after a while and thick white smoke came out.
"Cough cough," Lin Chaojin was choked, but unwilling to give up, he lowered his head and blew it, "Cough cough," the smoke became even thicker.
"I'll do it," Chi Huai walked over to the room filled with smoke, pulled her up, squatted down, and took out the excess firewood. Although he was not skilled at the beginning, he managed to start the fire.
Lin Chaojin saw him light the fire and was about to praise him, but when she looked up and saw a smear of black ash on his nose, she couldn't help but burst out laughing and tapped her own nose, "You've got black ash on you."
Chi Huai didn't rush to wipe it off after hearing it. He glanced at her lazily and opened his thin lips, "Big brother doesn't talk about second brother."
Hmm? Lin Chaojin thought for a moment before she understood what he meant. She hurried out of the kitchen and looked at herself in the well. She found that her nose was also stained with black ash.
What? He mumbled and washed it with water.
They waited until the sun had completely set before they finished preparing the meal and brought the dishes to the wooden table in the yard.
Chi Huai turned on the light in the yard. It was a warm yellow color. Although it was not very bright, it inexplicably gave off a sense of warmth.
Then Lin Chaojin saw him holding a plate of mosquito coils and placing it next to the table. Everything here was good, except that there were a lot of mosquitoes.
Suddenly, there was only the sound of the two people eating, the calls of various unknown birds in the mountains not far away, and the occasional croaking of frogs.
Lin Chaojin was eating when she suddenly felt something crawling over her feet. She looked down and saw a big cockroach next to her shoe.
"Ah," Lin Chaojin suddenly put down her chopsticks and jumped up from her chair, "Chi Huai."
When Chi Huai heard her cry, he quickly stood up and walked towards her. Before he could say anything.
When Lin Chaojin saw him coming, she suddenly jumped on him like a koala, wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, and draped her legs over him, unwilling to touch the ground. She was so frightened that her face turned pale. "There's a cockroach, a big cockroach."
Chi Huai held her waist with one hand and patted her back soothingly with the other. He looked up at that place and saw that the big cockroach had long disappeared. He said comfortingly, "It's okay, the cockroach is gone."
"Yeah," Lin Chaojin said with a nasal tone, frightened. She hated cockroaches the most in her life. "There really are cockroaches."
"I know," Chi Huai patted her on the back and responded.
"What are you two doing?" Suddenly a deafening roar rang out, and the birds in the distant mountains and forests were frightened and silent for a moment, and the original "croaking" sounds of the frogs in the fields turned into a discordant "croaking, croaking, croaking".
Lin Chaojin and Chi Huai were startled and turned to look at the gate of the yard at the same time.
There were two people standing at the gate of the courtyard. One was Lu Ge, who was carrying two suitcases and had fiery eyes. The other was Chi Ling, who had his mouth slightly open and a look of surprise on his face.
Lu Ge took the car all the way, and finally arrived when he felt his butt was about to split into two.
I got out of the car and helped Chi Ling carry her suitcase up the stairs. I couldn't help but complain, "Director Zhang is so awesome. He lets us live on the hillside. I have to climb up and down every day. Is my old waist going to take any more trouble?"
But looking at the house not far away, he felt happy again, "Hey, I want to give my sister a surprise."
The two of them walked up all the way, and when they reached the fork in the road, they thought about helping Chi Ling carry the suitcase over.
Chi Ling pointed to the house on the right and said, "That's where my brother and I live. My brother texted me about it today."
"Oh," Lu Ge nodded, and walked over with his luggage, thinking about how to give his sister a surprise and scare her. But when he opened the gate and saw the scene in the yard, he was the one who was frightened.
Looking at the people hugging each other intimately in the yard, Lu Ge was furious. Chi Huai, you actually dared to hit on his sister and steal his cabbage. He roared, "What are you doing?"
After yelling, he saw the two people who were frightened, and he didn't even care about the suitcases. He walked over angrily and said sinisterly: "How long are you going to hold on?"
Lin Chaojin glanced at Lu Ge, then calmly got off Chi Huai. Before he could ask, she calmly said, "Just now, a big cockroach scared me."
"Ah, cockroach, where?" Lu Ge got goosebumps when he heard it. He couldn't help but take a few steps back with a look of disgust. When he looked at his sister again, he was full of pity, "Hey, big cockroach, I'm really sorry for you."
Lu Ge knew that his sister was most afraid of cockroaches. There was once a glorious incident where her sister almost tore down the house when she encountered cockroaches. After that, the number of cleaning ladies at home doubled.
Therefore, he understood his sister's reaction just now. He walked over and patted Chi Huai on the shoulder. "Brother, it's a good thing you're here, otherwise my sister would be scared to death."
After hearing what he said, Chi Huai put his hands in his pockets and twitched the corners of his mouth.
"Wow, you cooked so many dishes, wow," Lu Ge looked up and saw the sumptuous dishes on the table and couldn't help but marvel at them. He said to Chi Huai, "Brother, you made this, it's amazing." It was obvious that his sister should be excluded first, and secondly, Director Zhang, that black-hearted man, obviously would not prepare it for them.
"Hey, can I eat?" Lu Ge looked at Chi Huai inquiringly. "Don't you know I must be starving after sitting in the car for a whole day?" He started to act pitifully because of the stuttering.
"Whatever," Chi Huai said lightly.
"Hey, let me start eating," Lu Ge said, and he quickly picked up the bowl and started eating.
"Lingling, have you eaten? Let's eat together," Lin Chaojin said, looking at Chi Ling who was standing beside her.
"Okay," Chi Ling replied, obediently sitting down on the chair and picking up the bowl. She thought about the scene she had just seen, but it didn't seem right. It felt like she had seen it before, but she couldn't remember where. Then she looked at Lu Ge, who had already put everything behind him and was eating happily.
Lu Ge felt her gaze, glanced at her, picked up a chicken drumstick, and said, "Eat, why are you looking at me?"
After hearing this, Chi Ling withdrew his gaze and twitched his lips. Forget it. If I rely on him, the sow will not climb a tree.
