The man then left, leaving Wenxi alone in the cold interrogation room. Wenxi felt as if all her strength had been drained away, and she leaned against the cold wall.
What kind of situation is this? She tried to help someone, but ended up becoming a suspect herself, locked in this cold interrogation room in the middle of the night, without even a chance to go to the toilet.
Hearing the sound again, Wenxi groggily opened her eyes and looked towards the door. She saw a tall figure standing by the door, but he was backlit and she couldn't see clearly who it was.
Then the tall figure walked towards her and helped her up from the ground, who was sitting against the wall. "Wenxi, are you alright?"
Wenxi felt a bit dizzy, not sure if it was because she was sleepy or had caught a cold. She had been out in the rain and was still wearing wet clothes, so she felt uncomfortable all over.
"It's nothing." Wen Xi shook her head groggily, feeling that her body was about to give way and she was swaying a little.
He Chen'an glared angrily at the staff member, "Do we have to treat her like a criminal when taking a statement?"
The middle-aged man walked over and unlocked Wen Xi's handcuffs. He then sat back down and questioned Wen Xi again, "Comrade Wen, is this He Chen'an, the doctor at the county hospital whom you have a crush on but dare not confess to, right?"
Wen Xi lowered her head awkwardly, hesitated for a moment, and then nodded guiltily. Little did she know that the other party would actually bring He Chen'an over for a face-to-face confrontation!
Upon hearing this, He Chen'an was overjoyed. He quickly turned Wen Xi around so that she was facing him, and his hands on Wen Xi's shoulders trembled with excitement. "Wen Xi, do you really like me too?"
Wen Xi looked at He Chen'an in surprise. What did this "also" mean?
"Wenxi, do you know? I've been waiting for your answer every day, and I've been hoping you'd come to the hospital to see me every day. Now that I know you like me too, I'm so happy." He Chen'an's ears were flushed with excitement. "I like you, and you like me too, so let's be a couple?"
This left Wenxi even more astonished.

He Chen'an unlocked the bicycle, helped Wenxi to the front and let her sit on the crossbar, then rode away with her on the back. The early morning wind was so cold that people shivered, and given Wenxi's condition, He Chen'an couldn't take her back to her hometown, so he had to take her back to his dormitory.
Back in the dormitory, He Chen'an asked Wen Xi to sit down and rest. Then he brought a bathtub and poured all the hot water from the thermos and the stove into it. He then quickly went to the shower room at the end of the corridor to get hot water and brought back his clothes. He said to Wen Xi, "Xiao Xi, hurry up and take a shower and wash your hair. Don't catch a cold."
Before Wenxi could thank him, He Chen'an strode out and closed the dormitory door. Looking at the towel in the hot water and the soap on the chair, Wenxi felt a strange feeling she had never experienced before. She didn't know what it was. Afraid that the water would get cold, Wenxi quickly took off her clothes and got into the tub to take a bath. She was so cold that her teeth were chattering.
She quickly took a shower and put on He Chen'an's clothes. The clothes were a bit too big for her, like a child wearing an adult's clothes, loose and baggy, but it was better than wearing wet clothes anyway.
She had been standing in the rain for so long, and then waited for so long at the hospital and the police station. The rain had soaked through her clothes, and she was truly cold from head to toe. Only after taking a hot shower did she feel like she had come back to life.
Wen Xi first washed her hair with bathwater, then washed it a second time with the water in the basin on the washbasin stand. After washing her hair, she wrapped it with a dry towel. Then Wen Xi opened the door and saw He Chen'an standing there with his back to the door.
"He... Chen An, I'm done washing up. I'm sorry to have troubled you." If she hadn't mentioned him, he wouldn't have been woken up in the middle of the night. Seeing that the blankets on his bed were still messy, she knew that he must have been woken up in his sleep.

She remembered that she took the lunchbox from He Chen'an that day and put it directly into the system's warehouse. She never touched the lunchbox again after that, and she had no idea that there was a token inside.
Looking into Wen Xi's innocent eyes, He Chen'an felt a surge of warmth in his heart. He knew he had found the person he wanted to protect for life. His Adam's apple bobbed, and He Chen'an cupped Wen Xi's face in his hands, looking into her eyes, and said very seriously, "Comrade Wen Xi, hello. My name is He Chen'an, I'm twenty-five years old, and I'm a doctor at the county hospital. It's a pleasure to meet you. Actually, from the first time I saw you, I had a different feeling for you. I want to protect you, and I want to be your girlfriend. Would you give me that chance?"
