Chapter 620

It doesn't matter if Jin Changfeng doesn't get to eat today, because she will often send him good things, so he won't go hungry.

After breakfast, the two went out. Jin Changfeng drove Wen Xi and they set off. After leaving the car, they saw a road that seemed to stretch on forever. Wen Xi turned her head to look at the scenery outside the car window and thought to herself, "People like Jin Changfeng really have a hard and dangerous life."

Everyone is able to live and work in peace and contentment because of the hard work and sacrifices they have made on the front lines. Therefore, she deeply admires and respects them.

Jin Changfeng took Wen Xi to the town here. It seemed that every town or county was just as prosperous, except that the architectural style was a little different.

Wenxi hired a photographer to take a day off and had him follow her around with a camera to take pictures of her. This place will be a tourist attraction in the future, and she wasn't sure if she would come back to visit again, so she wanted to take some memorable photos.

At this time, there was no such thing as tourist attractions, so Wenxi just looked for nice and special places to take pictures. Sometimes she was alone, and occasionally she would pull Jin Changfeng to take a picture together.

We ate local specialties at a state-run restaurant for lunch.

Wenxi is not a petty person, and being away from home is different from being at home, so she didn't complain once today and had a great time shopping.

Jin Changfeng accompanied Wen Xi around all day without complaint, and even prepared oxygen cylinders in the car in case Wen Xi felt unwell. Unexpectedly, Wen Xi's body adapted quite well to the place.

In the evening, Jin Changfeng took Wen Xi to the cafeteria for dinner. It was only then that Jin Changfeng realized that the cafeteria suddenly had a lot of ingredients, but he didn't feel regretful because Wen Xi often sent him delicious food, and he wasn't tempted at all.

Although he didn't get to eat anything good in the morning or at noon, he was still given what he was entitled to, such as fruit, which was distributed per person so that everyone could have some.

After dinner, Jin Changfeng escorted Wenxi back to the guesthouse and offered her the fruit he had been given. Wenxi shook her head and refused, saying, "Brother Jin, it's rare to have some fruit. You should keep it for yourself. I can easily pick some fruit when I get back, which is much easier than you eating fruit."

There was plenty of fruit in Wenxi's warehouse; even if she sold it, she probably wouldn't be able to sell it all in several lifetimes, let alone eat it all. So she decided not to compete with Jin Changfeng for this little bit of fruit.

Seeing that Wen Xi refused to accept the fruit, Jin Changfeng took the fruit and went back home.

After Jin Changfeng left, Wen Xi closed the door, slipped into the system kitchen, and began processing persimmon cakes. Persimmon cakes can both fill the stomach and supplement the body's nutritional needs. Jin Changfeng and the others can carry a few with them when they go out to work to replenish their nutrition at any time, so she wanted to make as many persimmon cakes as possible while she was here.

Even if it's not enough to support everyone, it can at least feed Jin Changfeng's small team for a while.

After dark, when all was quiet outside, Wenxi quietly left the guesthouse and had the system send her directly to a brigade that was a little closer to here, where she could exchange rice, flour, cooking oil, and other local specialties.

Food is the most important thing everywhere, so the other party had no objections.

After that, Wenxi went to various places every night to exchange supplies with everyone. Things that were difficult to transport out could be transported to other places because of her, so that more people would know about them.

The next day, Jin Changfeng's colleagues took leave to accompany Wen Xi out for a stroll. They ate a lot of the things Wen Xi had sent and treated her like their own younger sister, taking care of her as if she were a younger sister.

After returning home, everyone thought Wen Xi was so wonderful and adorable, and asked Jin Changfeng to help introduce her to someone. Jin Changfeng said helplessly, "My sister already has a boyfriend, so give up on that idea!"

He has two younger sisters. His biological sister already has a child, and the sister he adopted already has a boyfriend.

There were so many things here that it would take more than a day or two to exchange them all, so Wenxi stayed here a little longer because of them. Jin Changfeng and the others were busy with work, so for the first few days Wenxi didn't refuse their kindness and let them take her out to shop. Later, after she got familiar with the place, she went out to shop on her own.

During the day, they would familiarize themselves with the environment, and at night they would go to find people to exchange supplies. This would also help the local people, and the food they obtained could at least feed a family for a long time to come.

When it was Jin Changfeng's turn to rest again, he took Wenxi to a horse farm and taught her how to ride a horse. Galloping across the vast grassland, Wenxi felt that people should go out and see more of the world, instead of being like frogs in a well, confined to their own little world.

Wenxi stayed here for almost a month before going back. Before leaving, she put a large amount of supplies in the open space of the canteen. This time, the supplies were things that could be stored for a period of time, so that everyone could eat for a longer period of time.

The batch of dried persimmons we made was also contributed; although there weren't many, everyone should be able to get a few pieces.

Jin Changfeng saw Wen Xi off to the bus stop and reluctantly told her, "When you get to a place where you can make phone calls, remember to call me to let me know you're safe. When you get back, if anything happens, remember to tell me. I definitely won't refuse to help if I can."

Wen Xi nodded. "Brother Jin, I'll say it again: you must take good care of yourself."

Only by living well can we have a good life in the future and see the beauty of the world. Wenxi has been to the 21st century, and she knows how convenient, fast, and wonderful the future is. Therefore, she hopes that the people she cares about can also go and see it.

Once in the car, Wen Xi waved to Jin Changfeng. She had missed her friends terribly after being away for a month, and now she could finally go back. However, she had also gained a lot from this trip, making it truly worthwhile.

After the car started moving, Wen Xi glanced down at the road and saw Jin Changfeng standing below, looking at her. Wen Xi smiled at him and then turned back. She didn't know when they would meet again, but it certainly wouldn't be like in the mission world, where many years would pass in the blink of an eye.

After a long and tiring journey, Wenxi finally boarded the train, which meant that only half of the journey home was left.

When she arrived in the county town and got off the train, Wenxi didn't tell Qin Mi when she would be back, so she didn't see anyone waiting for her when she came out of the train station.

Wenxi didn't immediately take a car back. Instead, she found a guesthouse in the county town to stay in and secretly went to the black market that night to sell some of the supplies she had obtained. Since she would be returning in a few months, having money in hand would allow her to buy more houses and avoid worrying about her children in the future.
