Chapter 53 Eating Her Leftovers

Although it is indeed delicious, her appetite is only so big.

She really can't finish it, but if she doesn't, she will get beaten.

She looked at Fu Xiaohua and Grandma Fu who were eating every grain of rice in their bowls with care, then looked at the porridge in her own bowl and sighed again.

Suddenly a big hand reached out and poured the remaining porridge in front of her into his bowl without saying anything.

Seeing Fu Jingyu snatching Qiao Shu's porridge, Grandma Fu stared at him and said, "Jingyu, give it back to Qiao Zhiqing. Even if you're not full, Qiao Zhiqing is a guest, and you can't snatch something from a guest."

She thought Fu Jingyu was trying to steal Qiao Shu's porridge and never considered that Qiao Shu couldn't finish it.

After all, a steamed bun and a bowl of porridge only cost so much, how could you not finish them?

Qiao Shu looked a little embarrassed and quickly helped Fu Jingyu explain: "Grandma Fu, it's not what you think. I can't finish it, so Comrade Fu helped me."

The more he spoke, the lower his voice became. Anyone would be unhappy if they asked the host to eat their leftovers in someone else's house.

Unexpectedly, Grandma Fu smiled and narrowed her eyes: "So that's how it is."

She waved her hand. "I'm telling you, our Jingyu is the best and most obedient boy. How could he possibly steal someone else's food? Qiao Zhiqing, you don't have to worry. He's not that good of a person, but he's a great eater. He can eat a lot. If you can't finish the food or don't like it, just give it to him. He's not picky about food."

Qiao Shu was a little confused. What...what was going on?

Did Grandma Fu make a mistake? She and Fu Jingyu are just friends, and it seems that Fu Jingyu is her grandson. Why does it sound like Fu Jingyu is being disliked after hearing this?

Fu Jingyu: It seems like I was disliked, but I’m not sure yet. Let me take a look again, and it seems like I was really disliked.

After dinner, Fu Jingyu was about to wash the dishes when Grandma Fu chased him out: "Qiao Zhiqing has finally come here, you go and keep him company."

When Fu Jingyu walked out of the yard, he saw Qiao Shu talking to Fu Xiaohua with a gentle look on his face.

"Sister, your hair looks so beautiful."

Fu Xiaohua looked at the braids on her head with envy.

"Sister, I've never seen braids on your head before."

The braid on Qiao Shu's head was something she did herself at home, so of course no one else had seen it.

"This is just something I came up with on my own. Do you think it looks good, Xiaohua?"

Xiaohua nodded repeatedly: "It looks good, and my sister is even prettier."

Her childish words made Qiao Shu very happy. There was probably no girl who didn't like others to say she was pretty.

"Xiaohua, wash your hair tomorrow and come to the Youth League Center so I can braid it for you?"

She was really exhausted today. She didn't expect Gong Centimeter to eat anyway, and the Wang family still had to pay her back five days' worth of Gong Centimeter. Qiao Shu decided not to go tomorrow.

When Xiaohua heard that Qiao Shu was willing to tie her hair, her eyes lit up: "Sister, I will come to see you tomorrow after I wash my hair."

Qiao Shu touched her hair and chuckled, "Yeah, okay."

Seeing that Qiao Shu agreed, Fu Xiaohua happily turned around and ran away: "Sister, I'm going to help grandma wash the dishes, you play with my brother."

Qiao Shu looked at her back as she ran away and shook his head helplessly.

Only Qiao Shu and Fu Jingyu were left in the yard.

Both of them were embarrassed and didn't know what to say.

"Have you eaten enough today?"

It was Fu Jingyu who broke the awkward atmosphere first.

Qiao Shu nodded: "I'm full. Grandma Fu's cooking is really delicious, much better than what we educated youth eat."

Qiao Shu felt that he was more than qualified to speak on this point.
