“There’s only one He Qing. If we kill him, he’ll be gone. How can you bear to do that, brother?”

Bao Yan sat casually on the other side of the bench, patted the middle seat, and gestured for Mu and Qing to sit down.

"I don't want to. I'm wearing pajamas, I don't want to sit on the bench." Mu Heqing had just finished showering and was still wearing her pajamas.

“That’s easy.” Bao Yan reached out and yanked a piece of cloth off Yu Hai’s long black coat. He placed the cloth on the bench and let Mu and Qing sit down.

Yu Hai silently looked at his tattered coat and ultimately remained silent.

Mu and Qing could only sit between the two of them.

"It feels just like when I was in No. 13 Middle School," Bao Yan said happily.

Mu Heqing bent over, cupped her face in her hands, rested her arms on her legs, and looked at the flashing sign that read "Boxed Meals for Twenty Yuan" in the distance. She said in a low voice, "Actually, I'm different from you, you know that."

"What's different?" Bao Yan imitated Mu Heqing, cupping his face and resting his arms on his thighs. However, his large size made the gesture seem like he was deliberately trying to look cute.

They are very different. Mu and Qing are too lazy to give examples. They are not from the same world.

These guys aren't normal humans.

Instead of asking where it's different, ask where it's the same.

"What distinguishes us? Aren't there differences between humans?" Yu Hai asked after finishing his ice cream.

“I come from another country of humanity. They kill and fight each other, just like us. Some of them are more tyrannical than Nightmare, more indifferent than Sife, and more fond of seeing people kneel than Shi.”

Yu Hai learned a lot during his trip abroad.

"One thing I can't forgive you for is that you don't treat us as friends, while you can treat humans as confidants just by doing a few things for them."

"He Qing, you've been wanting to ask what we're going to do, so I'll tell you directly now."

The Nightmare interrupted Yu Hai, asking, "Should we just tell He Qing?"

Why did you keep it from him all along?

"What do you want to do?" Mu Heqing asked.

"Let me show you our world," Yu Hai said.

"What?"

Unsurprisingly, Mu and Qing did not get an answer.

She looked at Yu Hai and asked an unrelated question: "In another country, you saved a girl?"

Yu Hai thought for a while, shook his head, and said, "I don't remember very clearly. I might have missed one or two people when I cleared out those humans."

"Oh."

Mu Heqing chuckled softly, a smile that held no real meaning; it was simply a smile she wanted to give.

“If I hadn’t been unexpectedly accepted by you, I would be dead by now, a pile of bones, or even no bones at all.” Mu and Qing stood up, holding a popsicle that was about to melt. “The price of not being seen by you is death. You won’t die, but I will. That’s what makes us different.”

"He Qing," Bao Yan called her name, "Do you still hate us?"

Did he hate them in high school and want to kill her?

"It's late, let's talk another time. I want to get a good night's sleep tonight, is that okay?"

Stop bothering her; she doesn't want to be disturbed anymore.

I finally get to sleep peacefully, so what's the point of coming here again?

Yu Hai's already pale face grew even paler, and he slowly clenched his fingers.

"Go to sleep, no one will disturb you, Qing."

"Thank you, friends," Mu Heqing said with a hint of sarcasm.

Yu Hai closed his eyes, and countless crows flew towards him and Bao Yan. When the crows dispersed, the two figures had disappeared.

Mu and Qing returned home with the popsicles that had almost melted.

"Why are you back so late?" Mu's mother asked.

Mu Heqing smiled gently, "I ran into an acquaintance, so it's a bit late. Mom, do you want to have a popsicle with me? There are three in this bag. What flavor do you want?"

She tore open the packaging, and the melted popsicle flowed out, dripping red and green juice onto the ground.

"Ah, it's all melted." Mu and Qing quickly picked up tissues and wiped the stains on the floor.

"Qingqing, let Mom do it." Mu's mother found a mop and bent down to mop up the melted popsicle.

Mu Heqing suddenly hugged her mother, smelling her familiar and comforting scent, and said in a light tone, "Mom, I have something to do at the company tomorrow, so I have to leave again."

Mu's mother paused in her mopping, complaining, "She's only been back for a few days, why is she leaving again?"

"There's nothing I can do, but the holiday is coming up soon, and I'll be back in no time," Mu Heqing said with a helpless sigh.

"Then Mom will prepare some things for you to take with you."

"I'm so bad at always making Mom worry."

Mother Mu affectionately stroked Mu Heqing's face, "What nonsense are you talking about? Our Qingqing is the best."

"Mom, goodnight." Mu Heqing hugged his mother affectionately.

She closed the door, drew the curtains, threw herself onto the small bed, pulled the blanket over her head, and began to cry.

She clutched her pillowcase and wept silently.

So annoying, so annoying, so annoying, so annoying, so annoying.

I'm so scared, so scared, so scared, so scared, so scared.

I'm so worried, so worried, so worried, so worried, so worried.

My phone suddenly rang.

Mu Heqing picked up her phone with teary eyes. It was a message from Jiang Mu, who asked: "Heqing, are you happy to be home?"

The dim light reflected off Mu Heqing's face as she typed a few words with trembling fingers.

【happy. 】

The phone rang again, and Jiang Mu sent a smiley face emoji in return.

When you return to Ancheng, be sure to tell me that I've discovered a really delicious restaurant.

I want to take you out to eat.

Mu Heqing's tears were still wet as she looked at Jiang Mu's message with a complicated expression.

A tear slid down her cheek and landed on the smiley face emoji Jiang Mu sent. Mu Heqing gently wiped the tear off the screen with her hand.

…………

It seemed unlikely that Mu and Qing would fall asleep tonight. They lay in bed, gazing wistfully out the window.

She remembered Yu Hai's pale face and his words.

"Experiences have become a part of her life"—what kind of statement is that? It's so strange.

They've already entered her life, isn't that enough?

Are you trying to stir up trouble again?

Mu Heqing didn't actually interact much with Yu Hai. He would always appear silently beside Bao Yan with his crow, then quietly stay by their side, watching her and Bao Yan.

He didn't talk much, and today was the day Mu and Qing heard him talk the most.

Silent people tend to think more than they actually do.

After venting her emotions, Mu Heqing calmed down considerably and recalled her time at No. 13 Middle School.

About a week after she angered the Nightmare, the Nightmare kept appearing in front of her, killing some strange creatures that existed in the Thirteen Realms and placing their bloody corpses in front of her.

He was threatening her; he told her that once the principal's ban was lifted, she would be the first to die.

Mu and Qing's days at No. 13 Middle School were not easy, but she didn't care. As long as she could survive and return to real life, she could endure it.

The turning point came one day when Yu Hai was collecting the corpses of crows in a forest. The Nightmare was too violent, and Principal Fa Jiuyi had issued a ban on him killing his classmates. He could only find something to vent his anger, and Yu Hai's crows were among them.

Mu and Qing brought her strange lunch to the woods. Thinking there was no one there, she huddled in a corner, biting at the lunch that she couldn't even chew.

Yu Hai appeared beside her and stood there for an unknown amount of time, watching Mu and Qing eat lunch.

He watched for an unknown amount of time without Mu and Qing noticing.

Until he sat down in front of her, dragging his black coat, several crows landed beside her.

“Even my crows wouldn’t eat this kind of thing.” His tone was sarcastic.

Mu Heqing didn't speak. She just glanced at him and then looked at the crow's grave in the distance.

He continued, "Even if you hide here, Nightmare will find you. If it weren't for you, Nightmare wouldn't be taking its anger out on my crow."

"You need to find a way to solve this," Yu Hai said, emphasizing each word.

Mu Heqing swallowed the last bite of something she didn't know, and her hunger subsided. She nodded in agreement.

She has already angered the Nightmare, and cannot allow Feathered Skeleton to target her further.

If this continues, she will die on graduation day.

She made up her mind.

Nightmare was alone in the classroom; no living being wanted to be in the same space as him.

The environment at No. 13 Middle School was not much different from the outside world. It was dusk, and his handsome face was turned towards the orange sunlight that was about to set, without a trace of a smile.

"You appearing in front of me, is it a provocation?" Bao Yan tilted his head and sneered with dissatisfaction.

The desire to fight flowed in his blood.

“I’m not smart, I’m an idiot, and my dream is small, I just want to be an ordinary person,” Mu Heqing said.

The Nightmare asked, "Why are you telling me all this? Do you think I'm your wish-granting machine?"

"It seems I can't become the person I want to be. Do you want to kill me?"

"What do you think?" The Nightmare's violent aura flowed, and being able to speak calmly was already his limit.

"To you, I'm just an ant. What's the point of killing me?"

The Nightmare smiled coldly: "Of course, as long as what makes me unhappy disappears, it's worthwhile."

"But there are many things in this school that make you unhappy, right? Your classmates, the principal—can you kill them all?"

"You've provoked me, do you really want to die?" Bao Yan approached Mu Heqing. His tall figure, bare upper body, and chilling killing intent filled her with fear.

But once she shows any emotion, she falls into a disadvantageous position, and she can only force herself to remain expressionless.

Why is it so difficult to be an ordinary person?

"I can help you do that."

When Mu Heqing said those words, something inside her suddenly collapsed. She could no longer be a normal person, the person she wanted to be.

"Hahaha, you can do it?" Nightmare suddenly laughed, then his voice turned cold. "Are you kidding me? How are you going to do it, with your stupid brain, or your tiny limbs?"

"Don't you want to give it a try? You can't disobey the principal now anyway."

The Nightmare looked down at her for a while, and Mu and Qing felt as if they were waiting to be killed.

Suddenly, the Nightmare lifted her up, her feet dangling in the air, and for the first time, a look of fear appeared on her face.

"I thought you weren't scared at all. Okay, I promise you. I'll see what kind of trouble you can cause. If you can't do it, I'll be very disappointed."

Bao Yan smiled and hugged Mu and Qing, as if they were holding a toy.

Since then, her relationship with Bao Yan has seemingly eased, and Bao Yan has also controlled his bloodlust. Yu Hai and Bao Yan are inseparable and have always stayed by their side.

Yu Hai didn't ask Mu Heqing how he persuaded Bao Yan; he just kept looking at her, quiet and indifferent.

Until the eve of graduation, Mu and Qing had Bao Yan kill Yu Hai.
