◎The Right to Refuse 1◎
"You seem different from before."
A man with a resolute face spoke from the corner. He was very strong, his muscles bulging so much that they seemed to burst out of his suit.
"What's the difference?"
"I can't explain it either. I thought things would get better once you found a girl you liked, but now it seems like it's even worse."
"Really? Maybe there's something I don't know standing between her and me, preventing me from finding true happiness. By the way, I haven't thanked you for what happened last time."
The muscular man in the suit took a sip of the amber-colored liquor in front of him, chuckled, and said, "I haven't really helped you much. For people like you and me, finding someone we like is a kind of happiness. We don't need to ask for too much."
“That makes sense.” The man who was talking to the other man also reached out and raised the wine glass in front of him, a black watch on his wrist.
He drank it all in one gulp.
"By the way, something strange has happened recently. You know, I'm in charge of the southern part of the site, and a few people have died on the construction site in the last few days."
Who is it?
"There are all kinds of people: bosses, workers, men, and women."
"You want me to solve this for you?"
"No, not really. There have been too many strange things happening lately, so I stopped the construction project to lay low for a while. To be honest, I also suggest you take a break and not push yourself too hard. I called you here to say goodbye; I'm leaving."
"Have a safe trip, call me if you need business."
"You too, I wish you happiness."
"Thank you for your good wishes."
When Jiang Mu stepped outside, the sun was high in the sky, and the sunlight was dazzling. He squinted and raised his hand to shield his eyes from the glaring sunlight.
Since he got together with Mu and Qing, although her high school classmates wanted to kill him, she stopped them all, and recently there hasn't been a single thing happening.
He should feel satisfied, but he has never been an easily satisfied person.
To outsiders, his family was good; his parents were harmonious, and the family was wealthy. He should have been content, but he wasn't.
He can't stand that the family's focus isn't on him, and he can't stand being ignored, so he will become the center of attention.
In Mu and Qing's lives, his desires were always stirring.
Those things that are not human should disappear from her life.
"Are you unwilling to accept this?" A voice seemed to come from his soul, his soul asking the question.
Yes, I'm not reconciled.
She was unwilling to be just a marginal figure in the family, unwilling to have less than her brother, and unwilling to be Mu and Qing's only one.
"What would happen if all those guys died and she turned back to normal?"
She still has family and friends.
"You're so selfish," the voice in your soul commented.
Yes, he's never had it before, that's why he wants it.
"But I will help you, I will help you kill the people you don't like."
Before Jiang Mu, a dark figure appeared, its blood-red tongue hissing.
…………
Mu and Qing didn't pay much attention to the disobedient fellow the principal was talking about. She left the principal's den and walked alone on the streets of Ancheng.
She disliked her current life and their belittling and contempt for Jiang Mu.
We should respect each other.
If they were her friends or family, they wouldn't treat Jiang Mu like this.
They will put themselves in her shoes and seriously consider her and Jiang Mu's future.
This is what friends and family are all about.
But what about her family and friends? Mu and Qing felt increasingly uneasy.
Mu and Qing didn't understand what they had lost.
She wandered aimlessly through the streets, her mind a jumbled mess, unable to find a way out.
Suddenly, someone grabbed my arm.
"Mu Heqing, where have you been all this time?" The one who grabbed her was a sweet-looking girl.
Mu and Qing knew her; her name was Tang Ruxing, and she was a human.
Tang Ruxing stuck out her index finger and poked her head, rattling off a whole bunch of things.
"Where have you been all this time? I've been sending you messages but you haven't replied. Deng Qian can't explain it either. I'm so worried!"
Mu Heqing leaned back slightly as she was poked by her finger, but did not resist and just stared at her blankly.
"Why aren't you saying anything? Have you gone mad again?" Tang Ruxing walked around Mu Heqing. "No, something's not right. You're acting the same way you did seven years ago."
Same as seven years ago?
Mu Heqing was still in a daze when Tang Ruxing dragged him into a barbecue restaurant, where the aroma of meat filled the air.
"Deng Qian, Deng Qian, look who I found!" Tang Ruxing shouted.
Deng Qian, wearing a headscarf, walked into the store and was also shocked to see Mu and Qing.
"Qing!" She rushed over, her eyes full of worry. "Where did you go? You said you could handle it, and I believed you, but then you disappeared. Do you know how worried Xing, your aunt and uncle, and I were about you!"
Tang Ruxing took out her phone, made a call, and said, "I'll call your aunt right now."
Mu Heqing looked at Tang Ruxing and Deng Qian surrounding her and felt completely unfamiliar with them.
She couldn't understand what they were saying.
Could it be that she has problems with her past memories?
"I..." Mu Heqing began awkwardly, but had nothing to say.
Deng Qian grasped her arm and said, "Qing! What exactly happened to you?"
She held Mu Heqing's hand, wanting to say something, but suddenly her expression changed, and she pulled Mu Heqing out of the store.
"You've come again?" Deng Qian stood in front of Mu Heqing.
Mu and Qing were blocked by Deng Qian and couldn't see the person coming, but they heard the person say, "Where is Tang Ruxing?"
"She's not here, get out," Deng Qian said angrily.
Tang Ruxing walked out of the store and stood next to Deng Qian, saying, "I'm here! Deng Qian, you don't need to help me, this is my business."
“Very well, since you’re here, I have nothing more to say. You know what will happen to you,” the man said.
Tang Ruxing angrily retorted, "What will become of me? Go to hell! Who do you think you are?"
Mu Heqing was completely bewildered by what was happening. Everything in front of her felt foreign until a small black ball floated next to Tang Ruxing's face.
That's the ability to deceive!
Bang--
The black ball exploded, and Mu and Qing's hands trembled. Deng Qian pulled them away from the scene. Her left eye looked frantically at Deng Qian and Tang Ruxing, but her right eye remained fixed on the front, looking extremely eerie.
Fortunately, Tang Ruxing was unharmed, and Deng Qian only suffered minor injuries.
As the group shifted positions, the man was exposed to Mu and Qing's view. His sharp eyes swept over the group, and when he saw Mu and Qing, he was clearly taken aback.
"Mu Heqing? What are you doing here? Tang Ruxing, do you think everything will be fine just because you found her? She's not the same person she used to be."
The man clearly recognized Mu Heqing, and Mu Heqing, in a daze, also recognized the man.
Isn't he the swindler's henchman, that guy named Lin Guo?
Does he have a conflict with Tang Ruxing?
What do you mean by "she is not the same as she used to be"?
“I’ve changed, haven’t I?” Mu Heqing pointed to himself.
Lin Guo's face twitched. If Hua Zha knew that he was the one who aroused Mu Heqing's suspicion, he would definitely wish he were dead.
"Why did you do this to her?" Mu Heqing asked again.
Although Tang Ruxing has a foul mouth and is a bit harsh when she curses, she is essentially a good person.
Mu Heqing didn't know why she thought that way, but she knew that Tang Ruxing was that kind of person.
Because, because, when she was plunged into darkness, Tang Ruxing, she, Tang Ruxing...
She doesn't remember.
"Qing, do you know this person? He used to be a business partner with Uncle Tang Ruxing, but they fell out and disappeared for several years. Suddenly, he developed a strange ability. That little black ball you saw can suddenly appear and then explode next to you." Deng Qian wiped the blood from her wound with a tissue.
"I already told you, I don't know where he went, don't ask me!" Tang Ruxing squatted down next to Deng Qian and wiped the blood off her.
Lin Guo sneered and said, "I know where he is. I just want to kill you."
"Why?" Tang Ruxing asked.
Lin Guo: "Your uncle loves you very much, right? He puts you in his company. What would he do if he came back from a business trip and found you dead? He'll start with you, then his wife, then his daughter. I want him to live in constant pain!"
Tang Ruxing could only describe Lin Guoguo as an idiot.
She was unaware of their past grievances and grudges.
"So, you've been following Hua Zha all this time just to get revenge on her uncle, Boss Hei." Mu Heqing understood.
Lin Guo twitched the corner of his mouth, and after thinking for a while, he realized who "Boss Hei" was referring to. He said, "Of course, I've been working like a slave for him. How could you not know what kind of person he is?"
To gain access to the swindlers, he impersonated the principal, allowing them to use the hotel at will and be available whenever they called. He repeatedly teetered on the brink of death, yet the swindlers never treated him like a human being, their eyes only on Mu and Qing.
Therefore, he didn't care about Mu and Qing; he wanted to kill everyone from Tang Ruxing to Boss Hei.
He couldn't quite remember why he wanted to get revenge on Boss Hei, but he was determined to avenge all the suffering he had endured.
"Get out of the way. Anyway, you shouldn't feel anything if I deal with them now," Lin Guo said to Mu Heqing.
The small black ball reappeared, approaching Tang Ruxing and Deng Qian at an extremely fast speed. If it exploded again, they would die.
"What the hell is this thing! Ancheng is not safe at all." Tang Ruxing's face was pale and she was sweating profusely. This thing was beyond her comprehension.
Just as the black sphere was about to explode, Mu and Qing gripped Lin Guo's wrist tightly.
"What are you doing? Shouldn't you be indifferent?" Lin Guo said irritably, shaking off Mu Heqing's hand.
"You said that I shouldn't feel anything when you deal with them now, which means that I used to care about them a lot, right?" Mu Heqing grasped the key point in Lin Guo's words.
Lin Guo was speechless; he had blurted it out without realizing it. Mu Heqing was incredibly perceptive.
"You guys go first, I have something to say to him," Mu Heqing said to them.
"Qing, you!" Deng Qian looked at her with concern. She knew that Mu and Qing must have gone through a lot during this time, but there was nothing she could do to help them right now.
Tang Ruxing also frowned anxiously.
Lin Guo wouldn't let them go easily. In his plan, Boss Hei would witness Tang Ruxing's death as soon as he returned from his business trip, and then gradually lose the people he loved. He wouldn't allow his plan to go wrong.
He roared, "No one is allowed to leave! Nobody is allowed to leave today!"
Mu Heqing was very concerned about his apparent indifference; she vaguely felt that Lin Guo knew the whole truth.
"Both of us have become connected to fraud, but with me here, there will be no more explosions."
Mu and Qing closed their eyes, and the small black spheres floating in the air disappeared.
"Because I can control these things that are about to explode, while you can't. Now, tell me what exactly happened."
