Chapter 23 I Became a Beast God in the Beast World (13)

"Don't rush, let me think about it some more."

Just as the Rabbit Beast Tribe members were at a loss and the atmosphere fell silent, a commotion suddenly came from afar, interrupting Zhou Jue's thoughts.

The commotion was coming from the direction of the Giant Lion tribe.

A tall, mighty lion warrior, carrying another orc in his arms, rushed out from the depths of the territory. As he ran, he let out anxious and angry roars.

"Witch! Is there a witch?! Please come and save her!"

The entire gathering was instantly drawn to this roar.

Zhou Jue narrowed her eyes and immediately stood up. She saw that the male lion warrior was holding a female lion-woman in his arms. She had a deep wound on her leg that exposed bone, and blood had stained half of her body. Her breathing was very weak, and she looked like she was about to die.

The opportunity has arrived!

Zhou Jue's heart skipped a beat, but she didn't step forward immediately. She knew it wasn't the right time yet.

That lion warrior was none other than the leader of the Giant Lion Tribe, named Shi Zhan. He was holding his mate, anxiously searching for a shaman at the gathering who could save their lives.

Soon, the gaunt shaman from the Ironclaw Wolf tribe emerged. He glanced at the lioness's injuries, a glint of greed in his eyes.

“Chief Stone Slash, I can heal your partner’s wound. However, the wound contains a deadly poison, and I will need my most precious herbs.” The wolf shaman said slowly, “As for the price… it’s not expensive. Give me ten weapons made by your tribe, plus five large baskets of your stored Yangyan Fruit, and I will make a move.”

"You're taking advantage of our misfortune!" roared angrily from a lion-man warrior behind Shi Zhan.

The wolf shaman shrugged, looking completely unconcerned: "Whether you save him or not is up to you. But next winter, there won't be anyone to bear your cubs."

A fierce rage raged in Shi Zhan's golden eyes, and his massive fists clenched so tightly they cracked. But as he looked at his partner, whose breath was growing weaker and weaker in his arms, the muscles on his face twitched incessantly, clearly indicating that he was making a difficult decision.

At this moment, the shaman of the Iron Wall Ape tribe also came over. He was an old ape-man who stepped forward, examined the wound, and shook his head.

"The injuries are too severe; the poison has already seeped in. I can use a flint to sear away the rotten flesh, but whether she survives depends on her own fate and the will of the Beast God," the old ape shaman said truthfully.

These words were meaningless; the treatment plan, which left everything to fate, made Shi Zhan's heart sink to the bottom.

As for the Red Monkey tribe, their shaman didn't even attend the gathering this time.

Shi Zhan was plunged into despair. One was a scoundrel taking advantage of his misfortune, and the other was a quack doctor with no real ability. He gritted his teeth, almost crushing them, and just as he was about to agree to Iron Claw Wolf's harsh conditions, a clear, cold voice rang out.

"I can save her."

All the orcs turned their gazes toward the source of the sound.

From an inconspicuous corner, a petite figure emerged. It was Zhou Jue.

"You?" The wolf witch was taken aback when she saw Zhou Jue, then pointed at her and burst into laughter as if she had heard the funniest joke: "A rabbit witch? Hahaha! Chief Stone Slash, don't be fooled by her. Besides digging burrows and eating grass, can rabbits also cure diseases?"

The surrounding orcs burst into laughter, clearly no one believed that a shaman from the weakest tribe could possess any skills. The wolf-orcs who had been frightened away by Zhou Jue during the day remained silent, lost in thought.

Shi Zhan's gaze also fell on Zhou Jue, filled with suspicion and scrutiny.

Zhou Jue completely ignored the mockery. She walked straight up to Shi Zhan, looked at the lioness in his arms, and spoke with a firm and confident tone.

“I can not only save her life, but also ensure that the wound on her leg heals without leaving any scars, so that it will not affect her running and hunting in the future.”

These words shocked everyone present.

No scars? How is that possible! Orcs are used to getting injured; who doesn't have a few scars? This little rabbit is talking nonsense!

"Why should I believe you?" Shi Zhan's voice was low and full of doubt.

"One of them is trying to take advantage of the situation, and the other has no chance of success, while I can give you a 100% guarantee."

Zhou Jue met his gaze and said, word by word, "I saved her not for your weapons and fruit. But I have two conditions, and I need your personal promise, the chief warrior of the Giant Lion Tribe."

"What are the conditions?"

"It's too early to talk about it now. Let's discuss the terms after I've cured her."

Seeing Shi Zhan's thoughtful and hesitant expression, Zhou Jue continued, "My conditions will absolutely not make things difficult for the Giant Lion Tribe; in fact, they would be a piece of cake for you. If you find them difficult after hearing them, you can refuse. After all, our strength... is not enough to force you to agree." Zhou Jue left plenty of room for maneuver.

Shi Zhan looked at the pale face of his partner in his arms, then at the rabbit-beast shaman before him, whose eyes were calm yet full of power. He had no other choice.

"Fine!" He practically spat out the word through gritted teeth: "I promise you! If you can save her, I, Shi Zhan, swear in the name of the Beast God, I will grant you your two conditions!"

“Very good.” Zhou Jue nodded and immediately took on the role of doctor.

She looked around and gave Shi Zhan her first order: "Now, have your warriors clear this place. I need absolute quiet and cleanliness when I'm healing. All unrelated orcs, step back at least twenty paces."

Before the wolf shaman could say anything more, Shi Zhan suddenly turned around and let out a deafening roar: "Get out of my way!"

The warriors of the Giant Lion Tribe immediately sprang into action, roughly pushing away all the orcs who were watching the spectacle, clearing a large open space.

The wolf witch and the ape witch were both driven away in disgrace.

Soon, only Zhou Jue, Shi Zhan, the injured lioness, and a few core members of the Giant Lion Tribe remained in the arena.

Watching Shi Zhan place the wounded orc on a clean animal hide, Zhou Jue told Luo Qi and Xiao Bai to stay behind, and then said to Shi Zhan, "Now, only I, my two disciples, and the wounded orc remain. All other lion orcs, including you, must step back ten paces, turn your backs, and not look."

Shi Zhan was taken aback, clearly not understanding the request.

Zhou Jue's tone left no room for argument: "My treatment method is a tribal secret technique that cannot be passed on to outsiders. If you do not agree, then our deal is null and void."

Shi Zhan hesitated for a moment, but finally waved to his clansmen behind him, silently took a few steps back, and turned around.

In the center of the open space, only Zhou Jue and the lioness lying on the ground remained.

Zhou Jue watched Shi Zhan's tall and anxious back, a slight smile playing on her lips. What she needed was this absolute privacy. Because what she was about to use wasn't something that belonged in this world.
