Chapter 450 The Purge Before the Leap

Chapter 450 The Purge Before the Leap

Deep space travel is far more tedious than one might imagine.

The twelve starships formed a massive, concealed array, their advanced warp drives and ancient array runes creating a dazzling spectacle that transformed the vast fleet into nothingness indistinguishable from the cosmic background radiation.

The atmosphere inside the public activity cabin of "Kunlun-1" was somewhat somber.

"How boring."

Thor slammed his warhammer, named "Mjolnir," onto the alloy floor with a dull thud.

He looked around and saw that the cultivators from China were all sitting cross-legged with their eyes closed, like wooden stakes.

There isn't even a place to drink.

"really."

Marcus held a glass of nutrient solution specially supplied by the league and pursed his lips.

"I thought interstellar travel would be more interesting, but it turned out to be like being locked in a tin can."

A few strands of golden electricity flickered uncontrollably around his body.

Thor's eyes lit up, and he looked at Marcus with a grin.

"Hey kid, you've got nothing better to do, how about we have a little 'sparring'?"

"Let's see if your divine king bloodline is more powerful, or if my thunder power is purer."

Marcus raised an eyebrow, put down his cup, and a hint of fighting spirit appeared on his lips.

"I couldn't have gotten it."

"Perfect timing, I also want to test whether this tattered outfit issued by the Alliance can withstand Jupiter's wrath."

boom!

The energy emanating from both of them surged simultaneously, and the two bolts of lightning, one blue and one gold, collided in the air, producing a crackling sound.

The lights inside the cabin flickered instantly.

"vulgar."

A cold snort came from the corner.

The Supreme Elder of the Qingyun Sect slowly opened his eyes, his gaze filled with disdain.

"Two barbarians who only know how to manipulate lightning, do they even deserve to talk about the word 'strength'?"

"True power lies in control and artistic conception; how can it be compared to your fireworks-like tricks?"

"Old man, what did you say?!"

Thor was instantly enraged. He turned around abruptly, the lightning gathering on his hammer aimed at the Grand Elder.

"Want to experience the taste of fireworks?!"

The Supreme Elder slowly stood up, and an invisible sword intent spread out like mercury spilling onto the ground.

"I'm always ready to assist you."

Three distinct yet equally powerful energies clashed violently in the cramped cabin.

The alloy walls began to groan under the strain.

Lu Changfeng appeared at the cabin door, his brows furrowed and his face full of impatience.

"Stop, everyone."

"Private fights are prohibited inside the ship."

Marcus glanced at him and sneered, "Elder Lu, we're just stretching our muscles, aren't you being too nosy?"

“Exactly!” Thor chimed in. “We’re here to fight, not to go to jail!”

Lu Changfeng's brows furrowed even deeper.

He doesn't like to reason with people.

Just as he was about to use a more direct method to quiet the group down, a piercing alarm suddenly sounded inside the ship.

"Warning: Abnormal fluctuations have occurred at energy nodes E-7 and E-12."

"The stability of the concealment formation has decreased by three percent."

Lu Changfeng's expression changed; he knew what this meant.

However, Thor and his companions didn't care at all.

"Never mind that lousy voice!" Thor raised his hammer and aimed it at Marcus. "Come on! Let me see what you've got!"

Just as the hammer was about to strike.

An indescribable pressure appeared out of nowhere and enveloped the entire cabin.

"Well!"

Thor's arrogant expression froze instantly.

The lightning crackling around him went out with a "poof," like a flame being extinguished.

The Mjolnir, which weighed as much as a thousand pounds, slipped from his hand and fell to the ground with a clatter.

His knees buckled, and with a thud, he was pinned to his knees on the deck, unable to move even a finger.

Marcus, standing next to him, met the exact same fate.

The golden arcs of electricity around him, along with his divine pride, were crushed to pieces, and he lay sprawled on the ground in a humiliating posture.

The Supreme Elder, who was about to draw his sword, had his prized sword intent roughly crumpled into a ball of waste paper and then completely shredded by an invisible hand.

He groaned, a trickle of blood seeping from the corner of his mouth, his face deathly pale.

The entire cabin fell silent instantly.

Everyone was stunned by this sudden turn of events.

The next second, Zhou Jue's emotionless voice resounded throughout every corner via the ship's broadcast system.

“The Great Wall and Kunlun are one.”

"The ship's internal energy is connected to the concealment array."

"Any fluctuation of spiritual energy exceeding the threshold will be judged by the system as an attack on the entire fleet."

Her voice paused, and the icy tone made everyone's heart skip a beat.

"First time, warning."

"Second time, clear it."

Thor struggled, trying to draw upon the divine power within him, only to discover to his horror that his connection with that power had been completely severed, as if by an invisible switch.

On this ship, the power he was so proud of did not belong to him at all.

He was now just a physically strong mortal, and fear crept into the heart of this descendant of Thor for the first time.

He finally understood what the woman meant by "cleaning up".

She didn't even need to lift a finger; with just a thought, she could make them disappear completely from the ship.

The cabin was deathly silent.

Until Lu Changfeng's slightly helpless voice rang out.

"Get up, everyone."

That terrifying pressure vanished instantly.

Thor and Marcus scrambled to their feet, picked up their weapons, and stood slinking to the side, not daring to utter another word.

The Supreme Elder wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, silently sat back down in the corner, and closed his eyes, as if nothing had happened.

Lu Changfeng walked up to the crowd and cleared his throat.

"General Zhou has just issued new instructions."

"To ensure the success of the upcoming space jump, all members must take turns going to the ship's energy nodes to assist the mainframe in maintaining the stability of the formation."

He paused, his gaze sweeping over Thor, Marcus, and the Grand Elder.

"This is both a task and an opportunity to earn points."

"Those who apply voluntarily will receive double points."

"Passive assignees do not receive points."

Thor's eyes lit up instantly, and he was the first to raise his hand.

"Wow!"

"Me too!" Marcus exclaimed, not wanting to be left behind.

The Supreme Elder opened his eyes and said calmly, "Count me in."

The tense atmosphere instantly transformed into a scene of enthusiastic volunteering for labor.

Soon, this group of the most restless troublemakers were assigned to several energy nodes with the highest workload and the harshest environment.

Watching their backs as they obediently went to work despite their displeasure, Lu Changfeng felt a genuine admiration for Sun Jiuchou's "KPI management method" for the first time.

The atmosphere of the entire fleet finally transformed from a chaotic mess into a well-oiled machine that began to operate in an orderly manner.

...

Bridge of the "Great Wall No. 1" ship.

Zhou Jue stood in front of the huge star map, watching the light spots representing various energy nodes on the screen change from flashing yellow to stable green one by one.

She turned around and looked at the command post.

"All units, report status."

"Great Wall No. 1, status green".

"Kunlun-1, status green."

"..."

The reports from the twelve starships were heard one after another.

Zhou Jue nodded and sat back down in his seat.

Before her lay the vast and boundless universe.

She pressed the communicator.

"Preparing for a space jump."

"Countdown begins."

"ten."

"Nine."

"..."

The starry sky outside the porthole began to distort.

Countless stars, stretched and deformed, converge into a colorful tunnel leading to the unknown, bottomless depths.
