Chapter 28 I Became a Beast God in the Beast World (18)

The migrating procession stretched out in long lines across the plains.

With the giant lion tribe escorting them, no other tribe dared to approach them along the way, and the rabbit beasts enjoyed an unprecedented sense of security.

After a long day's trek, a vast basin surrounded by mountains came into view. That was the territory of the Giant Lion Tribe, one of the most powerful tribes in the beast world.

The magnificent stone buildings and huge caves are arranged in a well-organized manner, and powerful lion warriors patrol the territory, with an aura of strength permeating the air.

“My lord, please follow me.” Shi Zhan walked at the front, respectfully leading the way: “I will first introduce you to our tribe’s chief and shaman.”

He led Zhou Jue, Xiao Bai, and the rabbit beast chieftain and Grey Ear, who were acting as representatives, across most of the territory, and arrived at the foot of the tallest mountain.

At the foot of the mountain, two orcs stood at the entrance of a huge cave.

One of them, even more robust than Shi Zhan, with a full head of golden mane like a lion's crown, exuded an imposing aura. He was none other than Shi Feng, the current chieftain of the Giant Lion Tribe.

The other was a very old female lion-woman, her fur was graying, her face was covered in wrinkles, and she held a staff made from the bones of a giant beast. She was the shaman of the giant lion tribe—the Rock Priestess.

"Chieftain, Shaman." Shi Zhan stepped forward and bowed respectfully.

Chief Shi Feng's gaze was sharp as a knife, sweeping over Zhou Jue and the others before finally settling on Zhou Jue. Although he didn't speak, the powerful pressure he exuded was enough to terrify any weak orc.

However, before Shi Zhan could introduce them, the elderly Wu Yanji spoke first.

Her voice was old and hoarse, yet carried a calm that seemed to understand everything: "We have been waiting for you, divine messengers from afar."

These words stunned not only the rabbit beast chieftain and Gray Ear, but also Shi Zhan.

Zhou Jue's heart stirred slightly; it seemed that the shaman of this tribe was quite something.

"The witch foresaw your arrival," Chief Shi Feng finally spoke, his voice deep and resonant. "She said that the tribe's opportunity will be brought by a rabbit-beast tribe from afar."

Rock Sacrifice looked at Zhou Jue with his cloudy eyes and slowly nodded: "The light of the Beast God guides you. Your arrival is an honor for the Giant Lion Tribe."

Since the shaman had "foreseen" everything, the subsequent alliance negotiations proceeded exceptionally smoothly.

Chief Shi Feng announced on the spot that the Giant Lion Tribe had accepted the Rabbit Beast Tribe as an ally, and personally designated a piece of land adjacent to the core area with a favorable environment as their new home.

This result left the Rabbit Beast Chieftain and Gray Ear so excited they were almost speechless.

They finally had a stable place to live; it all felt like a dream.

After the discussion, Zhou Jue and his group, along with Shi Zhan, returned to the rabbit-beast tribe's temporary settlement with this wonderful news, intending to inform all the tribespeople and begin building a new home.

However, as soon as they approached, they heard a noisy argument.

"Get out of here! This is not a place for weak rabbits like you!" a rough voice rang out.

"Who gave you permission to come!"

"Get your junk out of here! Don't dirty our land!"

Several young lion warriors were impatiently driving away the rabbits that had just settled down. One of them even rudely kicked over the baskets that the rabbits had just put down.

The rabbit-like beasts dared not speak out in their anger, and could only cower together, their eyes filled with fear and resentment.

Benyue and a few other warriors stood at the front, shielding their tribesmen behind them.

"Stop!" Shi Zhan roared, his voice like a thunderclap from a clear sky.

When the young lion-men saw Shi Zhan, their arrogance immediately diminished by half, but their faces were still full of resentment.

The young lion-man at the head of the group, named Shi Yan, said with his neck stiff, "Chief Shi Zhan, these rabbits are too weak. Placing them here will only be a burden to us!"

“That’s right! Our Giant Lion Tribe has never needed allies, let alone such weak allies!” another chimed in.

"Chief Shi Zhan, drive them out immediately!"

Shi Zhan's face instantly darkened.

"This is a joint decision by the chieftain and the shaman!" he shouted sternly. "From today onwards, the Rabbit Beast Tribe is an ally of our Giant Lion Tribe! Anyone who dares to disrespect them is disrespecting the chieftain and the shaman!"

“But…” Shi Yan wanted to argue.

"No buts!" Shi Zhan stepped forward, his powerful aura making the young lion-men breathless. "I'll tell you something else: this is no ordinary shaman from the Snow Rabbit tribe! She is an envoy sent by the Beast God!"

"The Beast God's Messenger?"

The name caused the lion-men to exchange bewildered glances, their faces showing suspicion and disbelief.

"What? Are you questioning me, or questioning the Beast God?" Shi Zhan's voice was as cold as ice.

"We dare not..." Shi Yan and the others quickly lowered their heads.

"Since you dare not, apologize to the Divine Envoy and her people for your rudeness! Then, patrol the border of the territory for ten days!" Shi Zhan issued the punishment without any mercy.

Although the young lion-men were resentful, they dared not disobey orders. They could only reluctantly apologize to Zhou Jue and the rabbit beasts before slinking away.

As Shi Yan turned around, a shadow crossed his eyes.

A messenger of the Beast God? He didn't believe it. How could a weak rabbit possibly be a messenger of a god? He was convinced this was a lie Shi Zhan had fabricated to repay a life-saving debt. Just wait, he would expose his lies!

Zhou Jue saw all of this but said nothing.

She knew that to truly integrate into this community, the protection of Shi Zhan and the title of "divine messenger" were not enough. She had to offer more tangible value to win the hearts and minds of all the lion people.

Looking at her tribesmen who were somewhat uneasy after being harassed, she already had a new plan in mind.

"Alright, everyone, don't be afraid." She reassured her people, "From today onwards, this is our home. Our two tribes have officially formed an alliance, and the chief of the Giant Lion tribe has personally chosen a fertile piece of land for us. No one can drive us away."

"Now, let's pack our things and set off to start building our own house."

Under her command, the rabbits began to set off in an orderly manner, clearing the land and preparing to build a new home.

Zhou Jue's gaze had already turned to the distant, continuous mountain range.

She said to Shi Zhan beside her, "Chief Shi Zhan, leave the matter of settling the tribespeople to them for now. Now, please take me to find the ore for making your weapons."
