Chapter 22 Dog Cave

You want me to... drill through this?

The man stared at the dog hole, a hint of disbelief in his eyes, his face paling even more than before.

"What's wrong? Are you afraid you won't be able to squeeze in?" Xiao An said. "No, you're so thin, you can definitely squeeze through."

The immortal brother frowned deeply, looking very unhappy.

Xiao An looked at him strangely, then suddenly realized, "You don't actually want to crawl through, do you?"

The person pursed their lips, tacitly agreeing.

Xiao An was so angry she almost died on the spot.

"Don't worry about such things when you're running for your life!" he urged, pushing the man forward. "Let's talk about getting away first!"

He said with exasperation, "Now I know why you always get caught so easily!"

"Who is this person?" Xiao An thought to herself. "My life is about to be lost, and he still has so many niceties."

"Stop dawdling! Hurry up and dig a hole! Forget dog holes and rat holes, any hole that leads out is a lifesaver!"

"You think it'd look better if Mommy Flower beat you to death? I don't think it's any better than crawling through a dog hole..."

"Where do you think you're going to run to?" A sharp female voice rang out behind him as soon as he finished speaking.

Xiao An's whole body stiffened, and he dared not move at all.

He hadn't had high hopes for escaping, but when the moment actually arrived, he felt fear and his whole body trembled uncontrollably.

A hand suddenly landed on his shoulder, and the man in front of him took two steps forward, shielding him behind him.

“I forced him to do it, it has nothing to do with him.”

Xiao An then turned her head with difficulty, looking at the fairy brother and then at Mother Flower.

The latter was clearly awakened from her sleep; her unmade-up face revealed a ferocious expression in the night, looking like a vengeful ghost.

Xiao An was so frightened that she couldn't utter a single word, and her legs were trembling uncontrollably.

The thugs were getting closer and closer, forcing the two men to retreat step by step.

Even so, Xiao An was quickly picked up by one of the big guys and thrown down at Hua Mama's feet.

Enraged, Mother Hua stomped hard on Xiao An's back:

"You treacherous bastard! I've been so good to you, and you turn around and oppose me!"

She raised her hand, and a thug handed her a long whip. "I'll just beat you to death today!"

"It's not his fault, I forced him to do it. If you want to hit someone, hit me!"

The immortal brother was twisted and trapped to one side by two thugs, and he struggled fiercely.

Madam Hua ignored him completely, and the whip, whipped with a strong wind, lashed Xiao An, causing the latter to cry out in pain.

Huaiyue had just been severely whipped with this whip during the day, and it might still be stained with his blood, so she naturally knew how painful it was to be whipped like that.

"Please, please let him go. I wanted to escape. It has nothing to do with him. Please..."

Huaiyue has been sold into Zuichunlou for over a month. No matter what Huajiao does—whether she threatens or bribes him, beats him or scolds him—no method works on him. He just refuses to submit obediently.

This was the first time I'd ever heard him beg for mercy.

Mother Hua stopped whipping him and looked at him with great interest: "I thought you were so tough, but it turns out you can still bend over."

The woman slowly walked up to Huaiyue, her nails, painted with nail polish, pinching his chin so hard they dug deep into his flesh:

"That brat's behavior should, in principle, be beaten to death in front of everyone. Whether he did it willingly or not, it's still betrayal, there's no difference."

"But Mom, I'm kind-hearted. If you behave well, I'll spare his life."

Huaiyue stared at him without saying a word.

Hua Jiao smiled, released her grip, and ordered a few thugs: "Go, tie them both up and take them to the woodshed. Tie them up tightly so they don't escape again. Take them to the courtyard at 9:00 AM."

The two escaped from the woodshed, but were caught again in less than half an incense stick's time.

Xiao An's back was bruised and bleeding from the beating. He lay on the hard ground, groaning, his consciousness fading.

Huaiyue tore off her own clothes, wet them, and carefully treated his wounds.

"I'm sorry, I've dragged you into this. If that wicked woman asks about it tomorrow, just say that I forced you to do it, and maybe she'll spare your life."

Xiao An thought he was too naive: "It's no use, Mama Hua is determined to beat me to death this time."

“Immortal Brother,” he held Huaiyue’s hand, “but if you can survive, don’t be so eager to die like before. As long as you live, there will always be a chance to get out, but if you die, you will have nothing…”

After that, Xiao An couldn't bear the pain and fainted.

When he woke up again, he found himself lying in the yard, surrounded by a noisy crowd.

Xiao An struggled to open her eyes and recognized many familiar faces.

One of them was his master, Young Master Jin Huan.

"Awake?" Mother Hua sneered.

Xiao An looked in the direction of the sound and found the woman standing in front of him with a bucket at her feet.

He was soaking wet, clearly having been woken up by water.

Mother Flower stopped looking at him and instead looked at another person not far away:

"Open your eyes and take a good look. See how this brat died because of you."

Huaiyue's face turned deathly pale.

Mother Hua waved her hand with a cold laugh: "Do it."

At her command, several thugs carrying thick sticks stepped forward and swung their sticks down at Xiao An—they were really going to beat Xiao An to death!

“I don’t care who you were before, even if you were princes or heirs, once you enter my Drunken Spring Pavilion, you have to listen to me.”

“I am your heaven, your earth, and your rules.”

"Anyone who tries to escape or dares to do bad things behind my back is courting death."

“He—” Hua Jiao pointed her scarlet finger at Xiao An, “His fate today will be your fate tomorrow.”

Xiao An was already injured, so he couldn't withstand such a beating. In no time, he was beaten until he vomited blood and was on the verge of death.

The crimson blood deeply disturbed Huaiyue's reason; he could no longer bear to see anyone die in front of him.

"I..." He closed his eyes with difficulty, filtering out the blood before his eyes, and said in a hoarse voice, "Let him go, I promise you, I won't run away..."

That was the first time Huaiyue compromised with Mama Hua. He asked the woman for Xiao An, making him his personal servant to take care of his daily needs.

Hua's mother always indulged him and immediately agreed.

The male prostitutes at Zuichunlou are all trained by the brothel's masters and must at least have some skill in guarding the door. Just having a good appearance is not enough to keep customers for long.

Huaiyue is good at everything, and Hua's mother is overjoyed, feeling like she has found a treasure.

There were both virgins and prostitutes in the building. Huaiyue was unwilling to sell himself, and Madam Hua indulged him, making him a virgin.

Huaiyue was so beautiful, and she was also proficient in all the arts, including music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. Her first appearance stunned all the guests present.

Almost overnight, the name of Young Master Huaiyue spread far and wide.
