Chapter 24 "Please reward me, Master"

Huaiyue realized that this was like shooting herself in the foot, and she was so angry that she tried to snatch the apricot from his hand.

But the latter took the opportunity to wrap his arms around her waist. Song Ting's body was very hot, and her breath was so hot that Huaiyue could hardly bear it.

"Since the master has bestowed this upon me, there is no reason for him to take it back."

Huaiyue wasn't one to back down easily. Since Song Ting had already said that, he picked up on the other's words and coldly scoffed:

"That Lord Song is really no good dog."

Song Ting didn't argue with him. In front of everyone, she took a bite of the apricot and said, "It's very sweet."

Huaiyue kicked him: "You really haven't eaten anything good, sir."

Song Ting shook her head: "I've eaten it."

A pair of dark eyes fell heavily on Huaiyue, as if they were pointing something out. Huaiyue seemed to realize something, and her ears suddenly turned red.

As darkness fell, the carriage finally arrived at the next post station, where the local prefect, who had received the message, was already waiting at the gate.

Upon seeing the carriage stop, the prefect bowed respectfully.

"Your humble servant Zhou Ci'en respectfully wishes Commander good health."

An arm lifted the curtain in front of the carriage, but the first person to step out was not the commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, but a man.

A man with a face as beautiful as a god.

Zhou Ci'en was a womanizer who boasted of having seen many beauties, but none of them could compare to the person in front of him, so much so that he was stunned and dumbfounded.

"The commander certainly has quite the grand entourage."

The beautiful woman, her eyes filled with mockery, jumped off the carriage with the help of the man behind her and turned to stare at the other person.

"If you are safe and sound, how can those two in the palace be at peace?"

These words were utterly disrespectful; even a hundred heads wouldn't be enough to chop them off. Zhou Ci'en finally came to his senses, lowering his head meekly and not daring to get up.

On a sweltering night, the prefect was so frightened that he broke out in a cold sweat.

"Is the ice ready?" A deep male voice sounded from in front of him. There was not a trace of anger in it.

"It's all ready," Zhou Ci'en quietly wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "And the chilled sweet soup is also prepared. Would you like to have it now, sir?"

"I want to drink." It wasn't Song Ting who responded, but the beautiful woman.

"Have dinner first, your stomach will hurt later." The person who was cold and sarcastic just a moment ago softened their tone and coaxed you gently.

Zhou Ci'en was startled; how could he not guess the relationship between Song Ting and this beauty?

An idea immediately came to mind, and she added, "Yes, young master, the sweet soup will taste even better if it's chilled for a while. Why don't we have dinner first?"

Huaiyue gave a cold snort and said sarcastically, "The master himself is a loyal dog, and those under his command are all good dogs too."

The others had already walked into the inn, and Song Ting followed closely behind. After taking two steps, she turned back and instructed Zhou Ci'en, "Have dinner first."

Zhou Ci'en replied, "Yes."

Song Ting glanced at him and then praised him, "You did a great job."

Zhou Ci'en was overjoyed, and his face became even more respectful: "It is my honor to serve you, sir."

After a long day of travel, Huaiyue was listless and lacked energy. She only ate a few bites of dinner before giving up.

Song Ting sat opposite him and picked a piece of fish out of his mouth with her chopsticks: "Eat some more, otherwise there won't be any sweet soup."

Huaiyue ruthlessly pushed the fish-shaped chopsticks outside the bowl and plate, her expression a half-smile: "Is my master threatening me?"

"If that's what you say, then so be it." Song Ting's expression didn't change, and she simply picked up another piece of fish and put it over her plate.

This time, Huaiyue used her chopsticks to block the other party's attack, saying, "This servant is unworthy to serve the Commander, for fear of shortening my lifespan."

Song Ting paused, frozen in place, so Huaiyue used a little force to push the chopsticks away.

"I'm a little tired, Your Majesty, please make yourself at home."

"Wait a moment." Song Ting called out to him. Huaiyue stopped and turned around. "Is there anything else you need, sir? Do you want me to serve you?"

It might rain later; it's very hot and humid right now, and Huaiyue refuses to wear her clothes properly.

One shoulder was already exposed from under her clothes, and her rounded shoulder was like the most potent poison, almost numbing Song Ting's mind.

He tightened his throat and asked with difficulty, "Aren't you going to drink the sweet soup?"

"I won't drink," Huaiyue said.

He always loved to go against Song Ting. If Song Ting told him not to drink, he would insist on drinking. If Song Ting allowed him to drink, he would refuse to drink.

If someone else had done these things, Song Ting, this living devil, might have actually sent them to meet the real devil, but Chu Huaixu's actions only made him feel moved.

He thought that, at least in this person's eyes, he was still special. The god who had fallen from his pedestal had stumbled and worn down, his edges worn smooth, and he would only raise his thorns when facing him.

Perhaps Chu Huaixu believed in his heart that he would not hurt him, which is why he... became arrogant because of the favor he received.

Arrogance stemming from favor.

These four words rolled around in Song Ting's heart, making his heart feel as if it were being fried on a hot pan, desperately needing a handful of sweet dew to extinguish his burning desire.

Song Ting stood up, walked slowly behind Huaiyue, stretched out her arms to encircle his waist, buried her face in Huaiyue's shoulder, and took a slow, deep breath.

"Have a sip."

"I won't drink." Huaiyue's attitude was firm. She had barely finished speaking when Song Ting gave her a kiss.

The man's soft lips pressed against Huaiyue's shoulder, then he revealed a little bit of his tongue, gently kissed her, and then bit her.

His martial arts skills were unmatched, and his fiery temper made him feel like a furnace when he was next to Huaiyue, which was so hot that it was annoying.

And that tongue was hotter than an embrace.

Huaiyue subconsciously moved, trying to push the person away, but was held even tighter.

Song Ting slightly opened her mouth, took his round, fair shoulder into her mouth, and gently ground her teeth together.

Because of his action, the person in his arms subconsciously tensed up, their eyelashes trembling slightly like raven feathers.

Song Ting lowered her eyebrows slightly, and her breathing became a little rapid.

At that moment, Huaiyue turned around, hooked her arm around Song Ting's neck, and placed her other hand on the commander's chin.

He gently scratched with his index finger, as if he were really teasing a dog.

Huaiyue smiled, her voice seductive: "It seems that you don't want sweet soup, but something else?"

Song's voice deepened slightly: "Then would you be willing to give it to me?"

This is too blunt; the Song Ting of the past would never have said something like this.

Huaiyue smiled, lowered her eyes and kissed the other's lips, saying vaguely, "As long as you don't mind that I'm dirty, I'm willing."

Song Ting already knew about Huaiyue's affairs, so he naturally knew that this person was deliberately deceiving him and trying to anger him.

Even if it was fake, Song Ting still couldn't suppress her jealousy and anger when she thought about the suffering Xiao Guiren had endured in the past and those who coveted him.

He thought countless times that this person should have been his, and that anyone who even glanced at him would drive him mad.

"Then please reward me, Master." Song Ting picked up the person and carefully placed him on the table behind him.
